We need more “cameras” to help the police do their job.

Knowing Hurtt, it would be that Trial By Jury one that didn’t make it a whole season.

Yeah, we’re going downhill fast. If we don’t change soon we’ll end up like this in about 20 years…

“No doubt Chief Hurtt will work day and night to bring law and order to the Bayou City.”

No they won’t! They will fine the apratment complex owner for not putting up cameras, create a new westside task force with an acronym for a name, and keep trying to run off good cops for no reason while complaining that they can’t find enough officers as they head to the airport for another trip back to Phoenix…

    #3 - agreed
Reminder - if someone holds a gun at you give him the money. It’s not worth your life.

Apartment complexes are always called names like “English Oaks” or “Lakes of Devonshire.” Stuff like that.

How come no apartment complexes call themselves “African Village” or “Africa Colony?”

Seems like it would be appropriate. I don’t know.

Perhaps you are referring to the name “Section 8″

The tenant should have been armed to the teeth.

This was in “Katrina Country”, no? Maybe NOLA Far West?

#9 - even so, you don’t always get the chance to draw a weapon

Kind of have us over a barrel, don’t they? I mean I have wanted to sell my house because of the upkeep and the TAXES! But I couldn’t start to find a decent apt.to live w/o doubling the payment! Really sucks.

#12 - why not just rent a house?

  14. vlou on January 10th, 2007 at 11:56 pm

Okay, this is not just about Katrina evacuees, Section 8 housing occupants, or otherwise. This happens at a lot of apartment complexes where there are all types of people in all type of neighborhoods.

  15. Mike Smith on January 11th, 2007 at 7:22 am

Katrina and Section 8 housing has about 10% to 15% criminal wannabees built into the system. Those few give the rest of the 85% a bad name. It would only take killing 1% of the wannabees, and crime would be practically non-existent in “the hood”.

Bad news is the City wants the apartments to handle their own security. Unfortunately, the City does not plan on sending ANY of the apartment personel through the Police Academy.

Surely all of this could be solved by making a quick passing sweep of the apartment complex and disarming all of the citizens there. If there are no guns, there will be no violent crime.

Is it just me, or does that make no logical sense? I just thought I would pretend to be a liberal for awhile, but it still makes no sense.
