He didn’t pass the deadlines……he missed them!
I’m in New Orleans this morning, watched the local news last night. There is a very serious problem here with the police.
Nobody, I mean nobody trusts them. I wonder if marshal law will be used soon?

David, you should try to buy the domain http://www.headbeaters.com.

And remember to claim TM rights to your new, Shakey-inspired phrase:

And you wonder why I beat my head™

As if “The Big Easy” wasn’t wrecked enough already. Step one: reform the pension system.

It just shows to go ya; Everyone rises to his/her own level of incompetence! — Dilbert

Wonder how long it will take the good folks in NOLA to figure out they’ve been had in hiring Lee. P. Brown and group. BTW, who’s in the “group”?

  6. SimpleSimon on January 19th, 2007 at 8:08 am

God must be punishing New Orleans,

    First, Katrina

Second, The Government’s response (Local, State, and Federal) to #1

Third, Brad and Angelina have decided to make New Orleans their new home.

Fourth, Lee Brown is going to help them.

I am not sure the folks of New Orleans deserve these burdens.

    4 Dave,

Before Dilbert, That was actually called the “Peter Principle”.

I guess Mayor Nagin wants to maintain the city’s image of “Chocolate City” by hiring Lee. P. Brown as a consultant. More incompetence on Nagin’s part but what did you expect. The people elected him and now they are stuck with him. And we thought all the criminals via Katrina were still here in Houston. I guess there is plenty to go around.

I was in the store last night and saw a can of red beans on the shelf. The label said “New Orleans Style”. I wondered if they were stolen…

    Scholar….Brown….same sentence….must hold head….about to explode….aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh….

  11. EricPJohnson on January 19th, 2007 at 8:11 am

When I lived there they were kicking around an ordinance that all city employees had to live in Orleans Parish and all new hires must be

Now I cannot recall (I know you are lurking BJ and NEO) but if this went through the police force would technically be from the residents therefore improving relations with themselves.

    Or should they fight crime

    either way its all good

    :)

New Orleans lost a lot of its tax base back in the 80s when the whites made a huge exitous out of Orleans Parish into neighboring Jefferson Parish. There’s a reason why Sheriff Harry Lee is still in office after (probably) 30 years. He’s earned the trust of his constituents.

  13. DeepPurple on January 19th, 2007 at 8:12 am

I’ve tried for two days to post to LST. Guess my comments are not worthy.

  14. DeepPurple on January 19th, 2007 at 8:14 am

Am I banned from LST? If so I’ll drop you from my reading list.

  16. Dave D on January 19th, 2007 at 8:32 am

#7 Simple, Yes I knew that, but I just happen to be a Dilbert fan.

  17. normal_fault on January 19th, 2007 at 9:23 am

First Lee P. will advise mayor Nagin how to better exploit white guilt for the purpose of gaining more black power. Use that power to extort money and power from whittie (e.g. Jessie Jackson).

Lee P.: Mr. Nagin there is money to be made using the race card.

Nagin: I know that already. Tell me something I don’t know, Mr. Brown.

Lee P.: Mr. Nagin, I am here to maximize the use of your god given color, don’t you see? Maximize.

Nagin: “god givin’”, hehehe, I like that Mr. Brown!

Lee P.: Oh my! Mr. Nagin, I see a lot of work here. A lot! Now tell me again, who has all the money in New Orleans now? I mean the ‘non-color’ money, ifin’ you catch my drift.

#10 tedtam, Quick get the duck tape!

  19. texan1953 on January 19th, 2007 at 10:13 am

Lee (period) P (period) Brown…one mo’ reason to stop the funding of the restoration and ask for a refund… Thanks to the morons of N.O., they voted Nagin back into office…LPB will do to them what he did for Houston, Atlanta et al…

  20. Neocon on January 19th, 2007 at 11:57 am

If leepee brown has his way he will set up “storefront” policing like he did in Houston. That’s right. Get most of the officers off the streets and put them in storefront locations. Then if there is a crime, the victims can just come to the storefronts to report them. Pathetic.

  21. trl3 on January 19th, 2007 at 12:08 pm

Personally I think Lee P. Brown did a bad job in Atlanta, Houston, New York, and as Drug Czar.

This is the reason he was hired to help in New Orleans, Because they wanted the appearance of doing something without actually having to accomplish anything.

    @21 & 22;

Give these two a Gold star.
If leepee is critized in public for being the incompentent fool that he is, anybody doing so would be attacked as being a rasist bigot.
I say let NO sink or swim on it’s own merits. It’s just too unfortunate that tax payers dollars will be lining leepee and chocolate nagins pockets

with any luck, he will spare the City of Houston any more of his expertise.

  25. normal_fault on January 19th, 2007 at 2:00 pm

NO is going to prolong its victim status as long as the federal dollars keep commin’ in. We need mo money will be the cry! I say: Pay them in acorns!

Funny thing, you don’t hear about Mississippi or Alabama near as much as NO. I was told that my observation of this fact was a racist comment. The race card is a very lucritave bidness indeed. And who knows how to use it better than leepee? NOBODY!

  26. vlou on January 19th, 2007 at 7:33 pm

Nagin and Brown will never get past the racist agenda they have…blaming everyone but their own color of people for what is their own fault. They need to get off their duffs and do something instead of expecting everyone else to do it for them. No wonder most blacks are behind in everything they do, they believe they are ENTITLED to it, which is why they will never get ahead.
