Don’t piss him off.
A while back, I reported that my brother Tommy, a second lieutenant in the Army, would be deploying to Iraq. Now I’m happy to announce that LST is adopting his unit.
In affiliation with the Fort Hood Association of the U.S. Army, we’re adopting B Troop, 1st Squadron, 7th Cavalry, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division.
I promised my little brother that Blackhawk Troop will be the envy of the U.S. Army, and I know LST’s readers will deliver the goods.
In order to make this work, we need a core of committed folks. I’m asking participants to commit to sending one package a month, and one note or card a week. The Postal Service has a flat-rate box that you can cram full of goodies, and it’ll get to Iraq for only $8.10, regardless of weight.
Also, letters, letters, letters! Let the guys know we support them. You might consider making it a family affair. Get the kids to write a note and include a family picture.
If you’re interested in participating, send me an email. I’ll get a list together and send out more information next week.
Hooah!

Big Jolly;
I think we’ve found a place for Edd’s $10G to go if you’re able to get that transcript…..
Sarge
I like this deal and I think that I will participate.
That said I doubt what big jolly will receive will be a trial transcript.
Where’s Gadboy? Tommy has a little gift for him.
Can we call it BT1S7C1BCT1CD for short? Or just Blackhawk Troop?
I already sent my email…I’m committed.
Count me in!
As a thought — not sure if this group has women or not, but my ladies group adopted some of our fighting women. Don’t forget items that they would enjoy as well.
Sign me up! I sent you an e-mail.
I would like to participate!! Also, if anyone is interested, my daughter is selling Girl Scout cookies, if you would like to make donations, we could send cookies to our new troop! I don’t know if it’s proper to ask for cookie donations, but I do know everybody loves Girl Scout cookies, so I thought this would be a good idea. If this is not appropriate, I apologize.
Matt
I’m gonna send you an email and pitch in however you need to make all of the requirements / restictions available. Ours got loaded down with honey baked hams, vienna sausage and tons of munchies.
Some people tell me you can not send pork products however mine got what we sent.
And as a last thought we got a lot of request’s for Baby wipes. Seems like our soldiers just like to stay clean and don’t have the best facilities in the world over there. I guess it is a luxury.
Geez, with equipment like that and tough guys like we have, what in the hell is going on over there?? Are our guy’s being hel back again like Vietnam? Why can’t we let our awesome guys loose and finish this damn thing! I know they could do it if we let them. What’s going on?
Great, we’d love to send stuff direct to someone. Just sent 20 boxes of Girl Scout cookies through our local troop here.
Sign me up, Matt. Would be great to have some adopted “kids”.

Operation Blackhawk confirmed sir. Email sent and the kids are already making up some cards to go in with those baby wipes!
Matt, count me in. Email has been sent.
Argus, thanks for the link. I’ll include it with the info going out to participants in a few days.
