Can’t you just see the smarmy, condescending comment in Texas Monthly already??

    Way to go Dan!!!

I know the long war is over our taxes, but it’s nice to see a little victory like this won from time to time.

Rick Casey - What a waste of ink. I have no interest in his leftist drivel. Watch how he ignores or belittles Dan’s unanimous vote.

Well, I canceled that rag over 2 years ago and that is the best unanimous vote ever!

WOOHOO! “In God We Trust” is going to be at the front of the Senate chamber. Who’s gonna pay for that? When Dan can forward REAL legislation, then I will believe the hype.

And what god is that? The one that that the individual gets to fill in, like a blank. Guys, that is called idolatry.

  12. Jaime on February 1st, 2007 at 7:15 am

Any object or symbol (in this case a word) that can be replaced by whatever the object it purports to represent is an idol.

What would have been the result had Dan proffered: In Jesus We Trust.

How about: In the Lord God of Israel, Isaac and Jacob We Trust.

    Or, In Yhwh We Trust?

Jesus, very clear cut and divisive … sectarian.

    But “God” is so universal.

    Isiah 42:8
I am the LORD; that is my name!
I will not give my glory to another
    or my praise to idols.
