wow Laura could not get anyone willing to debate Dan on the Gardasil vacine.

Where was Eric when he was needed?

  2. tedtam on February 7th, 2007 at 10:36 am

He was busy trying to figure out to spin the admission by DHS that they lied to the congressmen.

Paging EricPJohnson, paging EricPJohnson…please pick up the house phone for particulars.

  4. jphilb on February 7th, 2007 at 11:04 am

Silly me. I clicked on the link hoping to hear a recording of Dan’s interview.

    Recall Perry!

  5. twocute64001 on February 7th, 2007 at 11:11 am

can’t recall perry - we must IMPEACH PERRY

  6. EricPJohnson on February 7th, 2007 at 11:57 am

    Vlou

Let me guess Dan and Laura were gasp against the HPV

Hmmm 24 states enacting it soon - but hey Texas whoooooo woooo

  7. twocute64001 on February 7th, 2007 at 12:11 pm

eric, where did you come up with 24 ststes enacting it soon? From the reports I have seen everyone is watch to see what happens in Texas! If Texans do not hang the gov for his missdate (mandate) then they will wait to see if it passes supream court muster as constitutional, (which it is not)

Do you know what DES was, LOOK IT UP, look up how many 10’s of 1000’s of people get to deal with the side effects of DES

I was all for Gardasil and willing to PAY for my daughter. UNTIL I started researching and learning. Gardasil is too unknown! MY child nor grandchild will NOT get it.

  8. EricPJohnson on February 7th, 2007 at 12:23 pm

    2cute

    RCP

Also, your insurance will require it or drop your coverage for cancer - this is already starting

hey look the vaccine for prostrate cancer is going to be just as upsetting to parents but again it will be helpful - its a few years away as well

  9. EricPJohnson on February 7th, 2007 at 12:23 pm

    Also guys

I like Dan too much to argue with him on the air - I never do that

    Edd as well

You know, the Gardasil question really boils down to this. How many posteriors would “Prick” Perrry poke, if “Prick” Perry could poke posteriors.

    EricPJohnson

NO other state has done this and I sincerely doubt 24 will. Dan has nothing against the vacine being made available to those that CHOOSE to take it.

I believe, as does Dan that it really is not the Governments business to MANDATE that this be done. And it is a MANDATE if I have to take action to opt out.

  12. twocute64001 on February 7th, 2007 at 1:32 pm

eric, how is you are so wise and so well educated as to have superior knowledge on EVERY subject?

or is it that you have opinions, not actual knowledge!!

Take a moment and learn a bit more about what you are talking about. Gardasil will only protect against 4 of the over 100 strains of HPV, those 4 strains only cause less than 2% aff all the cervical cancers, or less than 3600 cases of cervical cancer a year. and ALL of the 4 types of hpv can also be detected easily by the pap smears a female should reveieve every 6 months.

All gardasil is - is a way for merek to recoup the losses from vioxx.

    Follow the money

    IMPEACH PERRY

I’m not sure that the fact a vaccine protects only against a small percent of a certain type of cancer is, in and of itself, enough to say it’s worthless. The women that have fallen into that percentage would surely have wished the shot would have been available to them.

Whether it has side effects or social costs outweighting its therapeutic benefit is another matter, and I am not educated enough to speak to those issues.

Of course, the government mandating it is simply off the charts.

  14. twocute64001 on February 7th, 2007 at 1:46 pm

I called United Health Care, My sister checked with Pacificare, then we called a bunch of friends who called thier insurance companies, Blue Cross, Unicare, Tricare, USFHP, and on and on, and NOT ONE COMPANY will cover the gardasil injections.

    Nope - not one!

  15. twocute64001 on February 7th, 2007 at 1:50 pm

Rick, I can assure you, I am not discounting those women who have gotten cancer from this virus. But I do think they should have the option to CHOOSE to have this injection or not. The choice should be between them and thier doctors.

  16. Shannon on February 7th, 2007 at 2:11 pm

    Eric,
    A prostate cancer vaccine?

If government is involved I assume it will be laughably mandated for 11 year old boys so Merck can be assured to sell “X” number of shots for the poor.

Hopefully it will retains its efectiveness until the boys are 50 or 60 or 70 or 80.

So were going from gov’t mandated innoculations for airborne diseases….to a sexually transmitted diseases…..to simply ‘diseases’.

    Nanny government at its finest.

You big government republicans are as disgusting as your blood brothers on the other side of the aisle. Actually more so.

  17. RickG on February 7th, 2007 at 2:24 pm

This all raises an interesting philosophical question. If this (or some other vaccine) positively prevented some ghastly deadly disease that kills many, many people, would that be justification for mandating people receive it (or face some consequence or other_?

What if it was a ghastly deadline and highly contagious disease?

  18. jimb on February 7th, 2007 at 2:54 pm

Don’t you guys know? Eric Pee has the inside track on EVERYTHING. If he says the insurance companies will require gardasil or force you to drop your cancer coverage, then it must be so…

  19. twocute64001 on February 7th, 2007 at 3:02 pm

Except the insurance companies will not even cover the cost of the Gardasil injections.

  20. SOB of Cheese on February 7th, 2007 at 3:04 pm

We could take the Sarge and GWB approach. If you are against the mandatory vaccine, then you want cancer filled vaginas.

  21. jimb on February 7th, 2007 at 3:19 pm

Checked with my insurance (HMO Blue Texas), they said that they would cover the shots, but they laughed at me when I asked if they were going to link the shots or lack thereof to continuing cancer coverage.

    Nice try, Eric “pee”

  22. texan1953 on February 7th, 2007 at 4:28 pm

This is a very slippery slope. If the Governor can mandate this medication…what’s next? Folks…call your State Rep and Senator. This medication does not prevent but a few forms of cancer. This is a money grab by Merck through scare tactics. Don’t fall for it.

  23. EricPJohnson on February 7th, 2007 at 8:39 pm

    JimB

Nope, I just researched and called my Pediatrician, generally when vaccines come out for cancer its a wonderful thing.

Also, insurance companies foot the costs for cancer - they will demand that you take it - this is just geting started

Try getting your medical bills paid if you are in an auto accident without your seatbelt on this is not an unheard of precendent

    Texan1953

google Cervaix - the competing drug that will be on the market soon so all this Mercek conspiracy talk is that blogging breath

  24. EricPJohnson on February 7th, 2007 at 8:42 pm

    Trl3

Michigan passed the Seante unanimously, bogged down in the house over cost only

Australia passed it - they next to the US are considered the leaders in pediatric medicine, the UK and the European Union will pass it this year

24 states Trl3 and the CDC, the AMA, the American Pediatric Association all reccomend it for all parents to give their children

  25. jimb on February 7th, 2007 at 9:56 pm

Eric. You. Are. Full. Of. Bovine. Excrement.

This is NOT, REPEAT, NOT, a vaccine for cancer. Period.

    You are a fool.

  26. jimb on February 7th, 2007 at 9:58 pm

Not to mention all of the other relevant and sensible points made to you over and over again that you dismiss out of hand because you and Rick Perry and the Pope know each other personally.
