…”In its report, To Err Is Human: Building a Safer Health System, the IOM estimates that 44,000 to 98,000 Americans die each year not from the medical conditions they checked in with, but from preventable medical errors.”… Source: http://www.fda.gov/fdac/features/2000/500_err.html

I think we need Legislation against FALLING, especially in public places. People should not be allowed to fall and possibly hurt others. Where are the legislators on this???? ;))

    MAtt

Somehow I knew you would do this

Lets save alot more and get rid of polio and the MMR Vaccines as well - those deaths didn’t make the list either!

Also by 2008 when this takes effect there will be two companies making the vaccine by 2009 3 companies.

Now why would the AMA, The CDC, The New England Journal of Medicine, The American Pediatric Association (Who put it on their reccomended list of immunizations for children) be wrong and the Scopes Monkeys of the State senate be right

I wonder why is that - too much potassium - I don’t know the leading doctors of the country vs some elected politicians and a couple of radio talk show hosts

    Hardly seems fair

    Eric

Who cares what the New England journal of medicine says? The Texas Medical Association is against this mandatory vaccine. The American pediatric Association is also against MANDATORY giving of this vaccine. What you are quoting is whether the vaccine is good or not. Most say it is good, but disagree that it be mandated before a girl child can enter school.

    I think it’s time to RE-Call Perry, Seriously…

The time is ripe for us to form a new political party and call it (The TRUE CONSERVATIVE) Party…

These RINO’s are just too much and the Republican Party is doing nothing about it…

Seriously, I think the time has really come. Let’s get on with it and be ready for the 2008 elections. I think Newt, Dan Patrick and Paul B. and Paul Bettencourt would be a good start to pull it together…

    MAV

I would have to agree with you! However, a third party has little chance. We have to change our party and do it pretty quickly!

  12. Rick Perry on February 7th, 2007 at 9:25 pm

Where does walking across the freeway rate?
Shut up and get the damn vaccine!

  13. MAV on February 7th, 2007 at 10:12 pm

    Neocon,

Me likes you alot, but I have to tell ya…

The Republicans obviously do not even at this very moment seem to care anymore about the base or conservatism. They have had many very recent chances to prove otherwise but just don’t care. This is why we are in such a mess; they are week scared puppies who only care about thier own buts.
Sure there are some great ones still, but we could persuade them to change parties…

Another thing, no good ideas get done because we always defeat ourselves before we even get started. By saying things like “a third party has little chance.” Or the fair tax system will never make it because it will put accountants and IRS employees out of work. Or we will never phase out social security, it’s just too hard…

Where would we be now if our founding fathers would have talked like that? We all need to stop it and just go for it with everything we’ve got. Radical times calls for radical change. We need to get rid of the chaff once and for all. If a third BIG CONSERVATIVE party is what it takes I’M SURE that in the state of this Nation, we will get enough true conservatives to make it work and work big…

Lets save alot more and get rid of polio and the MMR Vaccines as well - those deaths didn’t make the list either!

Those diseases are quite infectious, and can be spread easily in a school environment, which is why we’ve effectively banned them from school. Cervical cancer doesn’t endanger the health of the public, the smooth functioning of society or the integrity of the educational system.

Now why would the AMA, The CDC, The New England Journal of Medicine, The American Pediatric Association (Who put it on their reccomended list of immunizations for children) be wrong and the Scopes Monkeys of the State senate be right

Well, from a good-government standpoint, no one elected those medical organizations to set policy. The Legislature does that.

But really, you’re confusing the issue, and intentionally so. No one is saying “ban the vaccine!” What we’re saying is that there are problems with its mandatory implementation.

I take a Flintstones vitamin every day, and I’m glad to do it. Vitamins are good for you, and I would encourage you to take one. If the government said you must take a Flintstones vitamin every day, I would be pissed.

I don’t know the leading doctors of the country vs some elected politicians and a couple of radio talk show hosts

Yeah, that representative democracy thing is a bitch, isn’t it? I guess popular sovereignty gets in the way of technocracy.

Hey #8, I’m all for getting rid of the polio vaccine too!! In fact my parents refused to give it to most of my brothers and sisters.
