The New York Times weighs in again on illegal immigration and has decided that the illegals are America:
The country has summoned great energy to confront the immigration problem, but most of it has been misplaced, crudely and unevenly applied. It seeks not to solve the conundrum of a broken immigration system, but to subdue, in a million ways, the vulnerable men and women who are part of it.
At least they called it an editorial and made no attempt to portray it as unbiased reporting, which is their norm. But even for the NYT, this is a bit extreme.
It has directed much traffic into the remote Southwest desert, making more immigrants vulnerable to smugglers and leaving many people dead.
They do not, of course, substantiate that statement with facts. Just say it is so and it is. Despite numerous reports that overall attempted crossings are down.
In immigrant communities, the undercurrent of fear has been replaced by terror, and employers are jittery, too.
And that is a bad thing? I think that the purpose of the increased enforcement and raids has been achieved if that statement is true.
State, county and local officials have picked up where they left off last year, introducing bills to get tough on illegal immigrants. They cannot control federal policy, so they try other ways to punish those they see as unfit neighbors, to stifle their opportunities, extract money, expose them to legal jeopardy and otherwise inflict suffering, in the deluded hope that piling on miseries will make them disappear.
State and local officials are trying to overcome a President that is willing to ignore border security and a Homeland Security Secretary that says:
”Every time a Border Patrol officer is transporting a load of future housekeepers and landscapers to someplace to be returned, he’s not looking for drug dealers or drug loads,” Chertoff said.
Pray tell, how is a Border Patrol agent supposed to differentiate between a housekeeper and a drug runner? A landscaper and a Middle Eastern terrorist? In other words, state and local officials are just doing the jobs that federal officials won’t do.
Then after all of that nonsense, the editorial has the gall to say:
Enforcement of laws cannot be ignored.
I’m tempted to say unbelievable but this is the NY Times. Anything negative for our country is par for the course for those guys. Never forget this image from the marches last year by these peaceful illegal housekeepers and landscapers lawbreakers.

For some reason, neither political party cares about tens of millions of illegal aliens in the country. I think it’s because they need all these aliens to be made legal and use them to “save” social security.
Is that the future? Millions of old Americans being supported on social security by immigrants? I don’t like the sound of that at all.

Why are so many people so hung up on social securuty? I have no plans to rely on ss to support me when I retire. I think its a tragedy that they steal money from us all our lives and then dole it out in ridiculously small amounts, just enough to keep someone from starving, but not nearly enough to live a normal life.
Payroll withholding (as opposed to writing a check at the end of the year) and social security killed America.

That social security thing goes both ways. If the illegals were legal, they would be paying into the system but what about all those illegal aliens with fake or some dead person’s social security number paying into the system. There was talk about paying the illegals back for those contributions, now that would bankrupt the system.
And you are right, social security as it was first set up was suppose to be a supplement retirement plan, not the only retirement plan which the Dimwits want everybody to believe that it is. More government to take care of everyone’s problem. Why should anybody do anything, the government will always be there to bail you out.
President Bush’s social security plan would actually been more benefical down the line. Under his plan we would have started our own social security investment accounts, independent of the federal government. And if you die, someone would inherit those funds. If you die under the current system, there would be limitations as far as how much is refunded in social security benefits to your survivors. So basically you don’t get back all that you put in unless you live a long life.
Every time I see the flag picture above, all I can think of is send those A______S HOME.
Now if only an illegal would steal George Bush’s social security number, how funny would that be?

We also have financial fraud being committed by some illegals. The IRS claims I made $25,537 more in 2004 than I reported. Strange, I only had one employer that “I” worked for and lived and worked the entire year here in Houston. The $25K was from an employer in California who “I” have never heard of. But am I innocent until proven guilty, NO, I must accept a payment plan and have them garnish my 2006 refund while the IRS supposably investigates. The IRS also tells me, I miss a payment, and they garnish my wages and put a lien on my house. How is that for innocent until proven guilty. Some illegal uses my SS number and I get to pay!!!

What a nightmare! I would think that if the illegal used your SS and you never received a W2 then the W2 went to some other address. Why can’t the IRS contact the California company to see what address it went to and then send the local constabulary to check the address out? Too simple I guess. Can you sue the CA company for wrongfully reporting income on your SS? After all, it seems they did not properly check the ID that was given if you didn’t even live in California at the time. I wonder what would happen if all of us used 999-99-9999 (like the illegals do at the hospitals) and then claim an exemption from all withholding and didn’t pay any taxes? Maybe then the IRS would get the feds to do something about all the illegals “who only want to work and don’t hurt anyone”.

Fact: Only 5000 Work Visas are issued to Mexican nationals each and every year.
Fact: Over the next 20 years, American between the ages of 16 - 25 years will experience ZERO growth.
Fact: Baby-Boomers are retiring at an increasing rate leaving many jobs vacant.
The bottom line is just that - The Bottom Line! If we (immigration opponents & proponents), do not come together to find a real solution regarding immigration, then we are doomed as a nation.
I’m very optimistic. We need a real guest worker program, which tracks every person in the U.S., and which calls for strict fines & criminal charges against employers who do not play by the rules.

I am applying to Congress to make me an illegal. I won’t have to pay taxes, I get free medical, my kids will get free educatuib and free college, I’ll get free social security, and all the other welfare giveaways. When you go to a hospital, list your social security number as 999-99-9999 and see where that gets you. p.s. illegals list that as their social security number when going to an emergency room. I triple dog dare you to go to Bank of America and try to open an account without an SS number.

This came home to roost in our family a couple of weekends ago, when a family member was followed home from the local Walmarts in S.W. Houston by a couple of hooded hispanic youths who waited until she was in her driveway then pulled a gun and demanded that she “get out of the car!”
Since she hadn’t yet turned off the engine, she backed into the street, intending to drive away while dialing 911.
She now has a bullet hole about the size of a nickle in her back door - missed her by inches!
These hispanic criminals were trying to kill her! They tried again when she was following them while on line with 911. They stopped their car, got out and fired off 5 more rounds at her. Fortunately, they weren’t very good shots.
