Let future generations understand the burden and the blessings of freedom. Let them say we stood where duty required us to stand.

Sgt. Mosteiro RIP and my prayers go to family and friends

Thank you SFC Mosteiro for your service to this great nation. Our country is great because greater men and women just like you serve. Thank you. I will pray for the family and be thankful of their service as well. None of them serve alone.

On a Saturday morning a long time ago I was out front of my house pulling weeds when a Marine Corps sedan pulled up in front of the house and a young lieutenant got out. I remember taking him into the house. My dad was in his underwear watching a college ball game. I’ll never forget him looking at my mother and saying be prepared.
Although my brother had been wounded again, he would be okay again. But I won’t forget that feeling. Today my brother’s son serves in Western Iraq. They have lost several helicopters in the last couple of months, and every day I pray it will not be our turn for a knock at the door.

Matt, anything we can do for Sgt lst Class Mosteiro’s family, please ask Tommy to let us know.

    Bigs,

Thanks for sharing your poem. Although I’ve read it before, it still brings a tear to my eye. Semper Fi, Marine.
