I want everyone to know that I have gone on an Algore diet. Yes, since 2000 I have lost a…a…a negative 50 pounds. In order for me to leed a weight neutral lifestyle I have purchased 50 lbs of food offsets…30 boxes of girl scout cookies that I will “retire” so they will not be available in the food-chain.

I wonder why my size 36 jeans don’t fit anymore.hmmm. Must be global warming.

Recycling previous posts, but dang it, they fit again!
    *******
There once was a jacka$$ named Gore,
Who was always asking for more –
    More honor, more fame,
    He basked without shame!
But he was just another media whore.
    *************
Question: Who determines how big Al Gore’s “carbon footprint” is? I sent Rush an e-mail yesterday about this whole footprint/carbon offset foolishness. The questions I have are:
    1) Who is God, that they can determine how big your “footprint” is supposed to be? (3/2: I think I just heard on Rush that the Gore’s carbon credits were bought a company he owns! HE DOES think he’s God!)
    2) If you want a bigger “footprint,” can you essentially buy a bigger “shoe” by buying carbon credits or whatever the he** they are calling them? From whom? And just how is this supposed to reduce pollution - if the other guy isn’t polluting already, how is your buying a non-polluter’s credit going to reduce the overall carbon load?
    3) If AG were to buy, say, a size 12 “carbon shoe” to enlarge his “footprint,” and only uses carbon for a size 11, can he call himself “green” for not being the polluter to the full extent of his self-perceived rights to be, even though he’s polluting more than anyone on his side of the Mississippi? In other words, his shoe is too big for his (fill in word here).

Mars Melt Hints at Solar, Not Human, Cause for Warming, Scientist Says

Simultaneous warming on Earth and Mars suggests that our planet’s recent climate changes have a natural—and not a human- induced—cause, according to one scientist’s controversial theory.

Actually, I think the term “dufus” is more appropriate when thinking Al Gore.

I just wonder how he gets his power soooo cheap. Based on the number, he pays a total of .06 kwh. Now a 2000 sq house has a transmission fee of about .03kwh, plus the tax is about 10%. His house must have a transmission charge of at least .04kwh and probably more. I pay .12kwh, which is .09 for power and .03 transmission fee. He pays about .02 for power. I want his rate

Rush was explaining how Big Al is able to purchase his carbon credits from himself (actually a company that he started and owns), but that no one else can purchase from Big Al’s Discount Carbon Credit Store. I’ve noticed that as I’ve gotten older I tend to generate a little more methane than I used to, so I thought I’d try to purchase a few of those carbon credits in order to relieve the pressure without so much guilt, but alas, since I can’t do business with Big Al, I guess I’ll just have to fart in shame.

Is this his house? I believe the address is 1313 Mockingbird Lane. They do have a solar powered sundial though.

Algore obviously didn’t like my first “Top Ten” list so I’m going to try again with this picture. So here goes:

    1) Oh, no!!! That’s my marijuana crop going up in smoke.

    2) I can prove that I won the 2000 race but that’s the Florida votes going up in smoke.

    3) Where there’s smoke, there’s fire doesn’t actually apply here.

    4) We’re burning tobacco as an alternate fuel.

    5) It’s not pollution if I’m generating it.

    6) I can tell my son’s smoking pot again!!

    7) How do you like my hurricane making machine?

    8) I do cremations on the side.

    9) No that does not mean we have a new Pope.

    10) This is my new communication system, smoke signals.

    I hope Algore likes these!!!

They claim algores light bill on a 10,000 sq ft house is $1200 a month. That isnt very high unless their rates are lower than ours. My house is 2100 sq ft and the bills in the summer run $300 a month. A house that big has to be pulling down some major wattage. Only $1200? I would look into the deal he gets on power. That might be a bigger payoff. Maybe thats just for the pool.

  16. I Am Iron Man on March 2nd, 2007 at 3:13 pm

If Algore cared as much as he pretends, he’d buy Dennis Weaver’s 10,000 sq foot “Earthship”. It’s electricity bill averages $50.00 per month.

“In a typical month, the Earthship’s electric bill is around $50, an incredibly low figure for a home its size.”
    http://www.dennisweaver.com/howearthshipworks.htm

It’s for sale, $3,300,000… and it’s all yours!
    http://www.dennisweaver.com/earthshipforsale.htm

With all that dough made from the movie, he oughtta be able to come up with enough for the note!

Isn’t it a given that all limousine liberals are hypocrites?

  19. ShinerBlonde on March 2nd, 2007 at 4:12 pm

It’s been my experience that everyone who wants to tell you how to live, whether or not they’re liberal, conservative or just plain old busy-bodies is a hypocrite. Usually a hypocrite with a financial angle. Otherwise they’d just mind their own damn business.

  21. Texan1954 on March 2nd, 2007 at 4:56 pm

Al Gore is a bitter moron who thinks more of himself than he does of this country. He should take the high road and get off at the first exit.

  22. RickG on March 2nd, 2007 at 5:41 pm

It’s a beautiful home. Maybe Algore should be encouraged to spend more time in it.

#20 - Akshully, it’s got more to do wiith my choice of beer than my occasional sun-streaks. What’s amazing to me is how people react to my online moniker - mostly as if I am the (unfairly) stereotyped blonde. So much for reading a blogger by her nom de blog, eh?!?

  24. gtotracker on March 4th, 2007 at 9:10 pm

    ShinerBlonde,

I always assumed your moniker was related to Shiner brew. I’ve searched high and low, when did Shiner drop the premium label and change to ShinerBlonde?

  25. ShinerBlonde on March 5th, 2007 at 8:35 pm

    gtotracker,

The Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner brews a number of beers - Bock, Blonde, Hefeweizen, Dunkelweizen, Kölsch, and the new, Shiner Light. I like them all (except that I don’t “do” light beer!) but the Blonde is my favorite. It’s a nice golden pilsner lager. It used to have a wonderful label, showing a pretty blonde on a swing, in the style of one of Gil Elvgren’s pin-ups, but they recently changed it to a really dorky scene of two brewers…why, I don’t know. Shiner Blonde won a bronze medal in the Australian International Beer Awards for pilsners. Not too shabby for a little ol’ brewery from Texas!
