Does this mean the smallest room in the USA, the Aggie Hall of Fame,is being moved to the Middle East. ;) What are they going to do with that much acreage?

  2. Vic on March 13th, 2007 at 2:27 pm

Once again, Bramanti showing his lack of knowledge on all things worldly. Dubai is a city within the Emirate of Dubai within a country called the United Arab Emirates.

Qatar, where the article states that A & M is going to open a campus is also a country, just a different one that doesn’t have a city called Dubai.

    Change the headline!

Glad to see the characteristics of Lee. P. Brown rubbed off on Gov. Goodhair, especially that “out-of-town” part. Gov. Goodhair is going on a trade mission to the Middle East hyping his new business tax and the no state income tax (yet) as incentives for doing business and living in Texas. He probably also hyping our porous borders as a means of getting all non-terrorists from the Middle East into this country.

  4. duhmoose on March 13th, 2007 at 2:45 pm

This is just a plan to get the Corp over into a Middle Eastern country so they can more easily run clandestine operations.

You aren’t suppose to give out secrets. ;)))

  6. duhmoose on March 13th, 2007 at 2:50 pm

according to the A&M website, this was opened in 2003. What took them so long to dedicate it?

  7. emmekelley on March 13th, 2007 at 2:51 pm

The question for the day. How long does it take for LST and Hal’s clock to spring forward an hour?

  8. emmekelley on March 13th, 2007 at 2:52 pm

They were on the 610 Loop trying to get there for the dedication. LMAO

  9. tedtam on March 13th, 2007 at 2:59 pm

As an Aggie, I shall go hide myself in shame…

  10. Hous bin Pharteen on March 13th, 2007 at 3:17 pm

Could they perhaps just keep Perry over there for the duration?

  11. RickG on March 13th, 2007 at 3:19 pm

Not being an Aggie, but knowing some, I used to think they were patriotic defenders of America - first line defenders against those who would destroy us. Now it appears they are on board with our enemies. Look at these countries and see what support they provide for those who hate America.

Wow, I’m glad my daughter changed her mind about going to A&M.

  12. Matt 'Zilla' Bramanti, CPO™ on March 13th, 2007 at 3:20 pm

CORRECTION: The post’s headline mistakenly said the A&M campus was located in Qatar. It is in Dubai.

The headline has been corrected, and the copy editor responsible has been summarily executed.

  13. tedtam on March 13th, 2007 at 3:24 pm

Maybe this is an attempt to make that part of the Arab world more American conservative, only Perry doesn’t know that (because the Ags won’t tell him that they have an ulterior motive to his ulterior motive). After the campus is established, the “education” really begins…bring on the Sul Ross Voluneers!

  14. RickG on March 13th, 2007 at 3:38 pm

    12. Matt

Correction doesn’t matter. The Aggies have now proven themselves as elitist and enemy-loving as all other liberal “institutions of higher learning.”

  15. duhmoose on March 13th, 2007 at 4:11 pm

RickG, as an Aggie, and a freedom loving proud American, I take offense at your insinuations. A&M is not the only school working on this project, and it seems to be an outreach to try and educate these people in the an American way.

  16. RickG on March 13th, 2007 at 4:22 pm

    15 dummy moose

It doesn’t matter if 100 institutions (including Harvard, Yale and Wellesley) engaged the terrorist countries in the middel ease - they are still terrorist countries.

  17. RickG on March 13th, 2007 at 4:28 pm

By the way, when did we last educate one of the “head-cutter-offers” in the American way?

Why don’t you tell Nick Berg’s family all about it?

  18. RickG on March 13th, 2007 at 4:31 pm

    16

My typing skills embarrass myself - how about ‘middle east’.

  19. duhmoose on March 13th, 2007 at 4:41 pm

RickG, Do you have any evidence that the people working in this project have any ties to terrorism? Would you have a problem with American universities trying to go into Mexico to educate the people there just because we have a problem with illegal immigration from Mexico? American universities regularly educate large amounts of foreign students from the Middle East as well as other countries, is that wrong too? I would think you would be happy that someone is working towards improving relations with and the education of countries like Qatar. Education and association are the best way to break down hatred before it can fester into gross problems like terrorism.

  20. williebill on March 13th, 2007 at 5:36 pm

I think it’s great! the AGGIE educators can teach them how to “brick” there camels so they can go further. Two down three to go, have a good week

  21. Dov on March 13th, 2007 at 5:48 pm

Did anyone hear the Joke about the Aggie who moved to Oklahoma ?

It raised the average IQ in both states.

    Duhmoose

I agree with you and personally I wonder why we are helping these people if they are “terrorist countries” (RickG) Yes there are terrorists there but the country is not terrorists or we would not be trying to help them.

The terrorists operated freely in NYC for a while
albeit a short while, so do we label NY as a terrorist state ?

    And I’m not an Aggie

  22. mrygill2 on March 13th, 2007 at 7:07 pm

    RickG-
When were you last in Dubai, huh?

It is probably the most civilized part of the Arab world - you can even get alcoholic beverages there!

They are already a banking & business center, with (last I heard) zero taxes on business. Which is why Haliburton is relocating there.

If we stand a chance of changing any minds in that part of the world, Dubai is where it will all begin, largely because they are a wealthy country with a lot to lose in any mideast conflict.

  23. emmekelley on March 13th, 2007 at 8:59 pm

AMEN to Duhmoose and mrygill2. That is the only way IMHO how we can stop the training and raising of terrorist.

  24. EricPJohnson on March 13th, 2007 at 9:35 pm

Dubai is in the UAE, Texas does about 5% of its business with the GCC and 39% with Mexico

Qatar has had a Texas A&M campus there for petroleum engineering for several years, the new campus is taking quite a while to get finished

    Doha is the City BTW

Also there’s Virginia Commonwealth University school of Art, Georgetown University school of Foreign Service, Carnagie Mellon has a campus and there are a couple of other schools I just can’t remember their names

BTW, Qatar is more wealthy than Dubai, more conservative and has thousands of American Troops stationed there.

Also regarding Nick Berg the guy who beheaded him had a couple of 500 pounders dropped on his nead (Zarqarwi)
Courtsey of the Red White and Blue

  25. TexasAC on March 14th, 2007 at 2:49 am

They will still come after us non-believer’s heads come jihad time…PE or no PE degree.

  26. Unhyphenated_American on March 14th, 2007 at 8:39 am

Now we will train them to kill us??? WTF? What is wrong with these people?

  27. willsin on March 14th, 2007 at 8:51 am

Are Texans’ tax dollars funding this? Are we paying for Rick’s airfare?

  28. DeepPurple on March 14th, 2007 at 10:12 am

Old joke: A&M instituted a mandatory class in geology for all engineering students so that they could tell the difference between their a$$ and a hole in the ground.

  29. radiovixen on March 14th, 2007 at 1:28 pm

Did you hear about the Aggie who read the study that says 90% of all car accidents happen within a mile of home…

    …so he moved?

This one wasn’t taking any chances!
