America’s most inept mayor is at it again. Seems like it’s taking him too long to turn NOLA into the Chocolate City of his dreams but he knows why.
New Orleans Mayor C. Ray Nagin has suggested that the slow recovery and rebuilding of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina — which has prevented many black former residents from returning — is part of a plan to change the racial makeup and political leadership of his and other cities.
“They are studying this model of natural disasters, dispersing the community and changing the electoral process in that community.”
That’s right, boys and girls, “they” are sticking it to him. He sounds more and more like a Waffle House patron at 4 in the morning. Nevermind that he is the mayor, that he is in charge, that he is the leader. “They” don’t want blacks back in NOLA.
Nagin, who won reelection last May over Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu, referred obliquely to the “chocolate city” comment at the dinner and suggested that his assertion that New Orleans would once again be a majority-black city had made him a political target.
After apologizing to everyone in sight after he made the chocolate remark, he’s now decided it is to his political advantage to be seen as a victim because “they” are so afraid of him that “they” are out to get him.
“Everybody in America started to wake up and say: ‘Wait a minute. What is he doing? What is he saying? We have to make sure that this man doesn’t go any further,’ ” Nagin told a room full of black newspaper publishers and editors at the Capital Hilton.
Kind of reminds me of that television commercial where the guy wants to stick it to “the man” and his assistant asks, “Sir, aren’t you the man?”. Careful Mr. Mayor, “they” are out there. And “they” are looking for you.

Coincidentally, I watched Undercover Brother last night. The movie is funny as hell! I think Nagin must have taken it seriously.
And yet, he will be elected again. Too bad ‘they’ aren’t the voters.
That picture of 600 Buses underwater will be seared in my memory, whoops that was Skerrys line.
I suggest “he” come to Houston and ask “them” to return to Chocolate City” so the tax “They” pay will stop being wasted.
Could it be “he” became infected by Lee.P. Brown’s presence, and all the gray matter above the brainstem slowly turned to mush and is leaking/has leaked out? Inquiring minds want to know…from a distance of course.

#1: Words don’t fail ME!, but as a former resident of NOLA you couldn’t PAY me to ever live in that XCZY@##@#! “Chocolate” town again! I applaud Mayor Nagin for reminding US why NO is shunned. Nagin’s problem is that he doesn’t know how to call a spade a spade! Chocolate, indeed!

We’ve only visited NOLA for meetings or to see friends who live in Covington, but those times were quite enough to convince us we wouldn’t move there. The last time was for a meeting 6 weeks before Katrina, and those who live there gave us visitors plenty of cautions about going out after dark or getting out of the downtown/FQ areas. Over the years the decline had progressed at each visit. What a shame.

The citizens of our country have been so beaten down by our Gov when it comes to saying anything negative about blacks that most are unwilling to even consider much less voice an opinion about whats behind the continued success of the Nagins, Marion Barry’s, Jessy Jacksons, Loui Frarakans and Al Sharptons.

Once again NOLA mayor is blameless…they (da white folk) be keepin’ us down. It must be wonderful to have an excuse for everything he does wrong. Besides the LA political machine don’t want their citizens back…too real estate that can be better used than section 8 housing (DUH).As far as folks wanting to return to NOLA…why should they?
