Its going to reach a point where officers wont respond to calls involving blacks or Hispanics. Too much liability. If they respond they get in trouble and the same if they dont respond fast enough. No win.

When they get a call in the hood they should refer them to Quanell the Tenth. When the call comes from the bario transfer them to La Raza.

  2. twocute64001 on May 3rd, 2007 at 9:43 am

instead of rubber bullets, maybe they should have used real bullets. They are being treated as if they killed someone, whan all they did was defend themselves.

I agree with # 1, when there is trouble in thier homes, they need to call quanell or la raza and leave the cops alone, then if they end up dead because La Raza never showed - so be it.

This crap is why I make T shirts…. not play cops and robbers anymore. Screw it. Arm yourselves, that’s why we have a Second Amendment.

Well, we arrest and lock up border patrol agents for doing their jobs.

We arrest and lock up soldiers for doing their jobs.

Why shouldn’t we arrest and lock up police officers? Come on, do we really want to treat them like politicians, such as Jefferson, and leave them riddled with guilt while eating their shrimp cocktails and playing golf?

I was abducted and probed by illegal aliens but escaped.

#1 So what do they call it when responding to Anglo calls? Another School massacre perhaps? Cannibal?

Why the attack against the journalist?

#4 When is shooting an unarmed person their job? Oh and btw shooting them in the back!!!

  9. No Higher Tax on May 3rd, 2007 at 12:26 pm

The camera people were not hit with the baton - watch the film and you will see the officer never drew back and swung it - if he had she would not have walked away.

unhyphenated is a troll. Didn’t his name used to be eric. Same dung being printed.

How many times do you have to be told to go before you are forcibly removed? Media or not. The media has shown its self to editorialize and incite stuff like this. Why should they be treated with kid gloves when they help exacerbate the problem? Rocks and bottles were thrown at the officers before they responded. They kinda left that out of the reporting. If they (officers) didn’t control the crowd, the crowd would control them and it would have gotten ugly. Obviously Hyperventilated American has never faced an angry crowd that is about to do something to him/her/it.

Bratton is a great police chief with a proven record of accomplishment in tough circumstances.

I bet a lot of cops in a lot of cities would take Bratton any day as their chief.

I’d trade Chief Hurtt and a dozen players to be named later if we could get an effective broken-windows policing veteran like Bratton.

I know the tendency on blogs is just to spout off on the outrage of the second and am guilty of that myself from time to time for sure, but Bratton’s background is pretty solid. Some folks might want to consider it before sentencing him to some outpost in Mexico.

  13. gregg on May 3rd, 2007 at 1:40 pm

The only thing I disagree with is the attack on the media. If they had the proper credentials the cops should have left them alone. This isnt China. They are only there to document whats going on. We still have a free press dont we? Now the idiots with the bullhorn are fair game for the rubber bullets, they are the ones who incite the crowd.

  14. bigjolly on May 3rd, 2007 at 1:46 pm

As far as the Mexican outpost goes, he’s postponed his visit Mexico City this week, so who knows.

Bratton is a master publicist. He spends roughly a third of his working days each year out of the city, yet you criticize Hurtt for spending his free time on the weekends out of the city. My criticism of him is based on his non-support of his own officers BEFORE any investigation is complete. It is obvious why he is doing this - to be reappointed to another 5 year term.

I don’t think this is the outrage of the second. I think it is a pathetic tale of a guy trying to blame others so that he can keep his position.

    9. Hit, pushed, shoved, kicked, they suffered all of this…It is evident in the video, luckily there is a video and these cops careers are over!!!!

    10. What ignorance! You have no clue or answer you this is what you post up! LMAO!

    11. How many times on those tapes did you hear warnings? Did you not hear the reporters claim they never heard a warning? The police all of a sudden began shooting, shoving and moving forward!

I doubt a 2 block area was throwing bottles or rocks. They people interviewed said it was a select group of young punks! The police could have arrested them peacefully!

    13. So now people can’t use bullhorns? lol so much for free speech! We have free press but not free speech! What about the minutemen rallies? Shall we shoot the bullhorn operators with rubber bullets as well. You know damn well they are inciting hate and violence! We do nothing about the KKK either!! no surprise there!!!!!

  16. gregg on May 3rd, 2007 at 2:14 pm

    16. Thats why I dont do rallys. Some DA always gets the cops mad and they crack heads.

Cops love chases and protests. When they catch you, they bring a butt whuppin. What? You doubt me?

  17. Shannon on May 3rd, 2007 at 2:28 pm

The LA police chief is a good example of why union’s largest growth is among government employees. What a jerk.

  18. american woman on May 3rd, 2007 at 2:44 pm

I thought they moved to a new a spot to protest that was NOT approved, with intention of making the police react. I have heard bad things about this police chief today on the radio. I won’t waste my breath on #15 but this country needs to stop protecting those who break the law. And that goes from Diane Feinstein on down.

  19. Unhyphenated_American on May 3rd, 2007 at 3:18 pm

    18. I agree… it looks like we have finally stopped protecting some law breakers! I.E. Ramos and Compean!

  20. trl3 on May 3rd, 2007 at 5:22 pm

    #15 & #19

Drival, unworthy of a response. You have tried and convicted without even an investigation. What is next, your claim to have an inside track on trial transcripts that have yet to be written. Keep on posting, I love it when idiots like yourself prove just how stupid you are.

  21. dowjones25k on May 3rd, 2007 at 5:24 pm

#19 unhyph your a piece of work!!!

please come to my backyard - you wont leave whole - i promise. the cops dont do crap to protect me when #### happens, so why should i not shoot and ask qustions later. what the hell do you want from me all my money!

  22. Unhyphenated_American on May 4th, 2007 at 9:31 am

    20. Really so there was no investigation? What about their own Border Patrol officers who testified against them? Those that under oath admitted that one of the two criminals asked them to destroy evidence! Wait they dont count right… lol shooting an unarmed man in the back seems pretty cowardly to me! They had no clue if he was armed or not, and at the moment they did not know what was inside the van!!!!! Why can’t you see that?

    21. Same goes for you!!! lol come to my house and you wont leave in one peace either!!! But what does this have to do with the issue at hand???? This was a public park!
You can shoot and ask questions later! But an officer has to use restraint, they are trained to handle situations and in the case of the criminal border patrol agents, they deliberately destroyed evidence!!!! That speaks volumes, they know they had broken the law!!!!
