    Correlation = causation, Jolly?

Sorry, the lumberjacks are still studying Redbuds. Something to do with forest v. trees.

  2. BSue on June 1st, 2007 at 9:24 pm

Why should we think that the penny donation would make an impression on the RNC, when Governor Goodhair acted like he thought they were REAL donations (remember the $0.01 check campaign?)

  3. IBreakCellphones on June 1st, 2007 at 9:28 pm

While correlation does not necessarily equal causation, it may mean there’s SOMETHING there. So. Is it worth investigating?

  4. jimb on June 1st, 2007 at 9:32 pm

Governor MoFo was just playing off what he knew was a snub. Bring on the $.02 checks to the RNC! It will cost them more to process them than it adds to their coffers! On the memo line, just note that we’re paying for the illegals that politicians just won’t pay for!

  5. Squawkbox Noise on June 1st, 2007 at 9:44 pm

Maybe the RNC should start soliciting all those new voters they anticipate getting once they give them AMNESTY.

  6. bigjolly on June 1st, 2007 at 9:46 pm

I heard someone say that anyone that calls this comprehensive plan amnesty is fear mongering. Have to search for the link, can’t remember who that was…

  7. Squawkbox Noise on June 1st, 2007 at 9:52 pm

Tony Snow is going on the road to put me in my place.

I wish I had the time to do a response on the front page.

Love the nickname btw. My wife won’t let me.

I did dig a bit deeper into the story and ummm yeah the cause=correlation is in effect here.

The EX-RNC base is extremely urinated about this.

  9. The Dude on June 1st, 2007 at 10:07 pm

    Correlation = causation, Jolly?

Yes! I finally made the front page of LST! Now that those royalty checks will be rolling in like clockwork I’ll bid you all farewell as I jump aboard the gravy train. Heh! Suckers.

  10. hamous on June 1st, 2007 at 10:13 pm

Are these guys that out of touch or are they just arrogant? I can’t figure it out.

  11. Squawkbox Noise on June 1st, 2007 at 10:15 pm

    /Note to self

Next time make a dig on The Dude instead of Jolly.

    /2nd Note to self

More gratuitous elation from the regulars that way.

  12. Squawkbox Noise on June 1st, 2007 at 10:16 pm

    hamous

Read the Tony Snowball link I provided in #7 and I think that question will be answered quite clearly.

  13. hamous on June 1st, 2007 at 10:16 pm

Btw, I think there is a correlation, I just don’t think the graph alone proved it. Gotta go prune some redbuds before they start wreaking havoc ;-)

  14. Squawkbox Noise on June 1st, 2007 at 10:18 pm

For all you Tony Snow fans

Yeah Yeah I know it is his job.

BTW he thinks we are twits. Gotta dig up his comments about bloggers.

  15. hamous on June 1st, 2007 at 10:27 pm

After reading, I think its equal parts cluelessness and arrogance.

  16. Squawkbox Noise on June 1st, 2007 at 10:35 pm

    Hamous
I don’t watch OH’Really as a rule, but hell there was nothing else on. Snow’s body language, voice inflection and facial expressions revealed pure disdain for anyone that disagrees.

I can sum up his entire attitude with 3 words.

    We’ll show you.

  17. hamous on June 1st, 2007 at 10:41 pm

I think they may be confused about who will show whom. Last week I figured it would pass the Senate and struggle in the House. Now, I’m not so sure it’ll get out of the Senate. Each side is gonna start tacking on amendments that make it unpalatable for the other side and any coalition will crumble. And I don’t think it has a Tony Snowball’s chance in Hell with the House. Then it will be all us fear mongers fault.

Squawk, I posted this at 8 this AM. It’s old news, man, move on to something current. If you gave me a hat tip, I would be nicer.

  19. Squawkbox Noise on June 1st, 2007 at 11:03 pm

8 AM? Hell I have not even had my coffee yet.

  20. texpat on June 1st, 2007 at 11:25 pm

Goodnight, God Bless and have a great weekend, Squawk.

  21. Squawkbox Noise on June 1st, 2007 at 11:29 pm

You too Texpat. I’ll try harder next time.

As a grass-roots NRC donor rebel, and proud to be one! No amnesty! No amnesty! No amnesty! No amnesty! No amnesty! No amnesty! No amnesty! No amnesty! There, I said it! Hope I offended someone!

  23. vlou on June 2nd, 2007 at 6:54 am

    TexasAC…LOL…I hope you offended many…

My cynical retired 64 year old husband sent the RNC a penny for his donation in the space
    “Other”.

What a joke it was to mail it back to them in the postage paid envelope where they suggested you affix a regular first-class stamp in place of using the postage paid so they could save $.41! That is getting desperate.

Laura Ingraham says she has known Tony Snow for years and his ego is huge. I liked him on Fox. I don’t like him as voicebox for the President. I wouldnt want his job. Snow can go on the road all he wants, he can’t fix this. And if I am paying for the trip, he better stay home.

  25. Adee on June 2nd, 2007 at 3:07 pm

I think the pic above is from the Dr. Seuss book Horton Hatches The Egg (or something close to that title). A better title is The GOP Lays An Egg.

  26. TEX06 on June 2nd, 2007 at 8:29 pm

A guy called last night from the RNC asking for contributions to prep for next years elections, yada-yada, etc.

I told him I had contributed from 1978 through 2006. However due to my outrate over the D***ed traitor in the Whitehouse, I was done with them and hung up.

“Impeach the Traitor [ El Presidente Jorge]“

  27. TXAggie87 on June 2nd, 2007 at 9:15 pm

TEX06 - I had one call about 3 or 4 weeks ago for the same thing - wanted a hand-out/contribution. Guess we’re on that same list of previous contributors. I asked him if I could donate 2 cents due to my disgust w/ the Prez and the RHINO’s for forsaking their Conservative Base. Flabbergasted the boy at first. He didn’t say a word for at least 5 full seconds. Then he asked me if I was joking. When I didn’t laugh and told him I was serious, he got snitty. So told him to please remove me from their list and hung up. Dumb A$$e$ will never learn!

  28. EricPJohnson on June 3rd, 2007 at 8:40 am

    Well,

    Its just a bill…..

It was just a little sheet of paper [the plan of fortifications at West Point, NY] that Benedict Arnold gave the Brits in 1779 —about 1/1000th of the Trash the American culture/economy/national soveirgnty Ted Kennedy/George W. Bush bill of 2007.

Whether this treason succeeds or not, Jorge will rank down along Jimmah Carter and Andrew Johnson in dispicability.

  30. KRogers on June 3rd, 2007 at 5:30 pm

One of the RNC solicitors called me Saturday morning, so I guess not ENOUGH of them were fired. I gave the poor woman a piece of my mind (probably more than I could spare). She actually thought Cornyn was doing the right thing (but didn’t understand the vote for cloture issue). Oh well. (I wish I could say that in Spanish).
