DJ, If he tried it wouldn’t last long. The SCOTUS has already ruled that an Executive Order cannot make law, it can only clarify or act to further a law put forth by the Congress or the Constitution. He would need to cite the specific law he is issuing the order under.
It may not last long but the ripples would be like a tidal wave. Bush has shown he doesnt give a rip about law and order nor what the American people want.

I believe the theory is that if you fax, someone actually has to physically MOVE the piece of paper, instead of just counting the emails, then doing a mass delete.(Of course, that’s likely NOT going to be the elected official but…..)
The national company for which I work has a “get politically active” section, and they advocate faxing, rather than emailing - and I believe the lobbyist said that was the reason.
Mornin all, another day that God has given to us.™
My comment on the photo is the little guy, I will call him David, is going to run between Goliath’s legs and have him fall fast and hard on his face. Now all we need is a big quiche so he can have egg on his face. They say the bigger they are the harder they fall. I would think that government is pretty damn BIG so it will fall pretty damn Hard on this issue.
My daughters girlfriend just graduated college and went to work for Kay Baiey about three months ago. Her job is to answer the phone and read the emails. Kay Bailey has them make a chart of topics the calls consist of and that persons for or against. She checks the board daily. She knows damned well we are against this pseudo immigration bill. Like Rush says, it’s the “Kill the Republican party bill)
#17 KBH is no longer worthy of my time. Her staff never reponded to my calls or emails except w/ a generic form letter. I want to see her selling Avon door to door. These people work for US.
Don’t forget her. KBH will be running for governor in a couple of years. Now is the time to let worthy candidates know that she should not get the Republican nomination.

#14 BSue: thanks for answering for me! Busy day at work!
#25 Vlou: I agree with you as well! That’s OUR paper and ink that their faxes are arriving on!
I am sick and tired of getting a generic response on immigration, and what a great job they are doing, after I’ve e-mailed them. I also am tired of a well rehersed speech I get, when I call. Both of those are only a mark in the category.
With faxing, I think I’m getting a bigger bang, outa my buck! At least they have to pick up all that paper and throw it away!

Unless they put the fax machine on top of the wastebasket - but they still can count the faxes by the number of times they have to refill the paper tray ;0}
It was Jerry Dole (former Hollywood actor-turned “independent conservative” radio host while talking to John McCain. The ‘AMNESTY’ is more than 300 pages long, while the U.S. Constitution “is pretty short, and the TEN COMANDMENTS are even shorter.”
Jerry selected his own 10 commandments. Here are 3 of those commandments:
10. English will be the only language used in the public workplace, public education, federal government offices and facilities, hospitals and related medical facilities and the federal court system. All voting for federal offices will be accomplished in English only.
7. Public education, medical and dental services, housing, social services, food stamps, Social Security, Medicare and other U.S goverment programs will be for the benefit of legal residents of the United States only
1. If you enter the United States of America illigally or overstay your visa, you will never be eligible to become a citizen of the U.S.
NO EXCEPTIONS
AMEN - AMEN AND AMEN
I have not been able to get to the Washington, D.C. office of Hutchison in several weeks. I usually have to call either the Houston or Abilene officer.
What about letters? I send faxes, emails, and at least twice a week I send a snail mail to each.
I am so P-Oed about all of this. And then to hear Cornyn on the Ed Hendee show talk about how he’s against AMNESTY after he was involved in the negotiations at El Casa de Blanco con El Presidente Jorge Bush, I wanted to climb through the air waves and give him what for.
#37 Marc: Nothings gonna happen to those 2. They’re liberals and the Republicans have no backbone.

Dear IRS, Mont. Co Appraisal District and Tax offices:
I regret to inform you that I will no longer participate in donating my hard earned money to your “worthy” causes anymore.
I’ve decided to donate to churches who can achieve a lot more than you can. Also, I will be donating to the Federal un-funded schools, food pantries, etc., who have accomplished way more than you have.
I have found that these examples that I have given you, do not have the red tape that you have, that seems to never end. They are so much more effective than you seem to be.
Until you can get your “stuff” together, and provide ACTUAL help and more cost efficiency, and quit wasteful spending, I am withholding my donations.
Your post shows that not only Plame and her husband are lying sacks of excrement, so is Senator Carl Levin, current Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Commitee and a source the leftos relied upon when smearing bush with lying about those “16 words” in his SOTUS:
Perhaps the most damning conclusion of the Senate report has been known for nearly three years, but has remained classified until now. In the initial July 2004 report, the Senate committee reported that the intelligence community “used or cleared the Niger-Iraq uranium intelligence fifteen times before the President’s State of the Union address and four times after, saying in several papers that Iraq was ‘vigorously pursuing uranium from Africa.’”
Despite that finding, Democrats led by Michigan Sen. Carl Levin blasted President Bush for the “16 words” in the January 2003 speech that described Iraq’s efforts to acquire uranium from Africa, calling them an effort to “cherry-pick” intelligence and to “mislead” the country and the world in a “rush to war.”
In other words, Levin and others blatantly lied in order to get a bunch of naive, well meaning people, to begin thier journey of hatred of Bush because “he lied and people died”
The entire anti war movement is this country is based on lies. it is a sham—and a putrid one at that. History will judge these people cruelly.
And hope to hell these sheep wake up before it’s too late. I hope they catal;og how many times the Left has lied to them—and how many times they have encouraged them to lie or defend thier lies because “the end justifies the means and we have a war to end.”
Ahhh…I had to log in! It must be because of my new laptop….I’m glued to it. All my Christmases have come at once…and I and my laptop are becoming up close and personal friends!
Hi Katfish..I’m using Vista…and it seems just fine so far. There were a few hassles in transferring across but finally they were ironed out and all is going well now.
Good Morning Katfish and Sunny! A new laptop wheeeeeeee good for you Sunny. I’m still desk top driven lol. Tje birds are singing and it looks like a pretty day is beginning.
Were lying a hanging offense in Washington D.C., well there just would not be enough cherry trees to do the job.
Both sides have engaged in distortion and sometimes outright lying.
Its a lie when the other guy does it and just careful word crafting when our side does it. (depending upon which side your are on at the moment).
Small wonder that the American people hold all politicians in such low regard today and it is a less of a surprise that the highest ranking politician would earn a lion’s share of the scorn.
I owe you an apology. No really I do. When I am wrong, I promptly admit. So let’s bury the hatchet.
No not in your head boy. (I love that line from Foghorn Leghorn)
I have accused Bush of not being a leader. Seems I am wrong.
President Bush, who has made immigration reform one of his top domestic priorities, is urging members of Congress to steel themselves against criticism and send him a bill.
and Ted Kennedy is following right along, of course.
“Our values are tarnished when we allow 12 million human beings to live in the dark shadows of abuse as undocumented immigrants,” said Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., the main Democratic author of the bill. “Our competitiveness in a global economy is at risk when our employers cannot find the able workers they need.”
And to prove he is a leader and right on this ILLEGAL immigration stuff he is trotting out Tony Snow to “splain” to us fear mongers what is really going on.
You ain’t gotta worry bout them rascally democrats making Bush look bad Serge’. He is doing pretty good for himself. And he is going to lead what is left of the so called “conservative” part of the Republican party right down the tuberoo.
#46 After these past almost 4 years w/ a kid in the military, I admit I’m some what nuts and no longer trust ANY politician with his or our welfare. And since he has 4 years of reserve duty to go, our gov damn sure better get its’ act together and QUICK.
Despite the cheerleading you get, the lies Levin and other Anti-War Democrats told were and are destructive to our War Effort and the National Defense.
It is small wonder now why the Democrats in Congress are not following through with thier promise to Impeach Bush for “lying us into a war.” They knew all along he did not, had the proof, and kept it from the People.
That is no small thing. They actively and purposefully engaged in a despicable tactic to convince a large number of the people of this country that their President was an evil War Criminal. There is just no good excuse for that–there is no cause noble enough where the end justifies that particular means.
Their lies gave aid and comfort to the enemy, and help him attarct new recruits to his side, then they blamed Bush when it happened.
Their lies damaged the standing of this country with other countries overseas, which they then blamed on Bush as well.
Now that the lies are being exposed, we get from you:
“They all do it.”
It’s a tactic myself and others have noticed in recent months. When Republicans are accused of soemthing heinous, we are witness to demands to denounce them. When Democrats are found guilty, we get the “They all do it.” Explanation.
For you, Republicans always take the entire blame themselves (even when it is not true–perhaps ESPECIALLY when it’s not true), but Democrats always share blame with Republicans.
The lies surrounding the Plame affair in particular are astounding in thier brazenness, and illustrative in the complicity of much of the media in spreading them.
sigh…Sarge, I don’t read your stuff anymore and worse - I just don’t care anymore about your poly-tiks… It’s gonna go down whether you scream and whine or not.

Just curious, now that I am confident we are buds, (see apology in #47), do you really have a tat of GWB on your butt?
Which part of my pointing out the actual lies told by actual people while presetning acgtual proof of it would make you beleive that?
Do you think that the lies Levin and others told about Bush hepled any?
Or did they make a bad situation a whole lot worse—DANGEROUSLY WORSE?
Is your justified disappointement about many of the policies of Bush enough to get you to condone or ingnore those lies?
Just wondering–now that we’re buds, amybe you can tell me.
Here is a WaPo article from today. Although it is rather understated, people who were there said the crowd was very enthusiastic and gave him a loud standing ovation for his remarks opposing the proposed immigration legislation.
Look at what Bush is doing to himself for crying out loud. He has insulted everyone that disagrees with him on illegal immigration, sided AGAIN with fast Ted, ran out a dog and pony show of border security that is all smoke and mirrors and you are worried about what we already know about the democrats?

KAYRIPES Serge’
Look at what Bush is doing to himself for crying out loud. He has insulted everyone that disagrees with him on illegal immigration, sided AGAIN with fast Ted, ran out a dog and pony show of border security that is all smoke and mirrors and you are worried about what we already know about the democrats?
Show me where I have disagreed with that—EVER
But you and others a doing such an excellent job of pointing out Bush, nobody is paying any attention to the Democrats–
Figured that would be my job.
That’s because some folks are getting the impression–and others are fostering it—that Bush is the only person responsible for the rest of the world thinking he lied to get us into a war, and that those lies helped terrorists recruit more terrorists. The impression the world has thagt we are bullies waging an illegal war is at thier vfeet, not Bush’s—and this Senate Report is just thelatest bit of evidence mounting to point that out.
Now we know where the real lies came from—and that despite the mistakes Bush made, he did not lie.
The lies the Democrats told—ESPECIALLY the ones that are still being repeated by public figures such as Rosie O’Donell have made a dangerous war that much more dangerous—and put the lives of our soldiers in more danger than they would have been without them.
We all have criticized John Cornyn, but the man is due credit when he does the right thing. Against the wishes of most senators Cornyn has been the driving force behind a bill he co-authored, praised by Porkbusters.org, that would revise the Freedom of Information Act so ordinary citizens can see what their government is doing with their money. An anonymous hold was put on the bill a while back and most thought it was a Democratic senator. Well, guess who it was….yep, Sen. John Kyl, R-Arizona at the apparent behest of the White House because the carrer lawyers in Gonzalez’s DOJ are whining about it.
We have a Texas senator trying to do the right thing on transparency in spending bills being sabotaged by an incompetent Texan Attorney General and an obviously clueless Texan President.
Mark Tapscott, editor of the Washington Examiner and also a Texan, has it covered:
DJ, we conceived, founded and funded the World Bank after WWII to rebuild Europe. Everybody else was broke and even after the sacrifice of saving the East and the West with sweat, blood, gold and honor, Americans continued to rebuild the world. It is ours and we gave it, with all its faults, to the world.
“In case you hadn’t noticed, the thousands of people who have been relegated to ghettos have risen up and burned cars in France,” McCain said. “They’ve got huge problems in France. They have tremendous problems. The police can’t even go into certain areas in the suburbs of Paris. I don’t want that in the suburbs of America.”
But you and others a doing such an excellent job of pointing out Bush, nobody is paying any attention to the Democrats–
We don’t care about the demorats. We want the people in the party that we voted for to change. Demorats ain’t gonna change.
Besides, who says we don’t pay attention to the demorats. Can’t help but with all the MSM coverage.
Oh btw I merely pointed out that Bush is the best thing to happened to the demorats. He has all but killed the voice of the so called “conservative” base and “conservative” part of the Republican party. His reputation as an idiot is well deserved in my opinion and he created that himself.
I will remind you once again that the “fear demorats” plank of the republican party no longer works. Oh and one more thing. I USED TO BE a staunch defender/supporter of Bush. Defended him till it hurt. I choose not to ignore what I know is true about him and the republicans in office.
Bwahahahaha, you made a statement that we ignore what the demorats are doing and then cite Rosie as an example!!! C’mon I have done at least 2 stories on La Rosa de Cahcah myself and I can think of at least 3 or four other stories that have appeared on the front page.
Serge’, really you gotta get over this secret love jones fixation of Rosie.
Judas McCain is saying that he and his fellow Sin-ators can’t(won’t) enforce our existing laws, so let’s pass a bunch a new ones and then we promise we’ll enforce them this time.
The old laws aren’t workable he says, but the new ones will be.
Anybody want to buy a Beach House in Arizona? If you believe McCain then I have the house for you.
I simply said that both sides had no claim on sainthood, which is usually the case in most arguments. I thought it was an accurate assessment and on balance fair.
As to aiding and comforting the enemy, Well ole GWB’s incompetance (with help from his NeoCon cronies) has done more to help the terrorists, than all the lame lefties could ever do by intent or accident.
I heard Newt Gingrich on Faux News this morning and I must say he is sounding better. His comments were not as direct as mine; his barbs were more sugarcoated.
Thankfully, he has not chosen to be the automaton-like Bushbot that McCain has become.
Even that stalwart Tush Blimpbaugh is running for the exit so fast that he would trample a group of nuns getting out of the room. It is a wonder that the state of Florida hasn’t designated the man a “Wide Load”.
I am waiting to see how that actor pans out. There might be hope for the Republicans yet.
As to aiding and comforting the enemy, Well ole GWB’s incompetance (with help from his NeoCon cronies) has done more to help the terrorists, than all the lame lefties could ever do by intent or accident.
Yeah;
convincing the rest of the planet that you had evidence that the President lied and distorted intelligence to get us into a war when the truth was conveniently classified did one hell of a lot to promote peace and keep the terrorists from recruiting.
I submit to you, Sir, that what some folks have been telling us for the past couple of years is that GWB going into Iraq based on lies and distortions is the basis for whay we have such a “poor standing” in the world and does more to attract terrorists than saying someing like, oh, I don;t know, THE TRUTH:
You know, something like:
“We have investigated thoroughly and there is no eividcne that the president lied. There is, infact, evidence that Mr. Wilson and his wife have been lying instead.”
Instead, Mr. Levin and others said exactly the oppostie which did more to convince people here at home and the rest of the word that Bush had waged an illegal war.
1. Bush waited too long to go into Iraq. The weapons are gone from the known places in Iraq. We knew they were there but Bush played nicey nice with the UN, giving Saddam time to dispose of or move the materials.
Mistake #1. He is the President and if he perceived a clear and present damnger then he should have done immediately what he deemed best. His actions then gave away the United States soul repsonsibiltiy to defend itself. The die is now cast that we must bow at the alter of the UN.
2. Bush strayed from the primary message of “We are in Iraq as a step in the process of defending ourself, Iraq is a war of of National Security, namely our national security.
Mistake #2: His message morophed into this nebulous mass of mess of bringing democracy to another country and then in essence turning our fight over to another country.
3. Bush quit taking the battle to the bad guys. I do not care what you say, Bush has set the battle in Iraq as a defense battle surrounding the capital.
Mistake #3 Bush is doing things in Iraq that are normally left for after a country is secured. I have said this before…..We have the greatest fighting power in the world our men and women should be able AT THIS TIME walk around that country relaxed in a general alert mode. But no!! and that brings me to :
Mistake #4: He has not cut off the enemies ability to supply and reman. BTW, who is the enemy? Bush quit defining the enemy a long time ago. Terrorists? Insurgents? Who are “they”? Were do they come from? Bottom line the bad guys can still arm and reman at will.
Mistake #5: Bush has played politics with this war. He had hoped that the Republicans would ride the wave of “Fear Democrats” and that national security would get the Repubs re-elected.
Mistake #6: He has done what amounts to nothing on our own border security. Great mixed message. Those like me that believe that the war in Iraq is just (not fought worth a crap because of Bush) see the hipocracy in Bush’s messages. We see it all the time….We gotta secure Iraq, well that is nice. Yet do nothing about the borders.
No Serge’ Bush is a political ass. Always has been and he is no better than the Democrats in that he wants to be all things to all people. He turned his back on the conservative base that got him elected (as did many so called Republicans). Bushco and the Republicans brought this crap on themselves and us.
You keep beating that drum though. All the way to 08 and Hillary and Obama. If the Republicans DESERVED to be in power they would be in power.
Rocket has scratches. I am doctoring him, but is there anything that I can do, to disinfect my pasture? As of tomorrow, it will probably be under water again.

Not going to disagree–even though you think I do. BUT:

Shows that he did not lie to get us into the war—and Democrats said that he did, all the time knowing that they had the proof that he hadn’t.
Unlike you I am not going to ignore that.
You might even be happy that they did.
I will not, because it is perhaps the most reprehensible thing any political party has ever done in the history of this country.
It made other nations believe that we went in under false pretenses, and the resulting opinion they have about the US and their unwillingness to help us was the result—which the Democrats blamed on Bush.
It has enhanced the recruiting ability of terrorists—which they have also laid at Bush’s feet and put the lives of our brave young men and women in danger. It has made a difficult war more difficult and made Bush’s mistakes even worse.
You can ignore that in your hatred of Bush—I will not.
I will do everything in my power to insure that we elect a Conservative president and a Conservative Congress—but there is no way in hell I am ever going to sit back and shut up about the utter perfidy this act by Levin and the other Democrats represents.
You can be happy they did it. I will be pissed. Not because I love Bush or have his face tattooed on my butt.
It will be because I love my country more than any political party, and because I absolutley hate people who put our soldiers in danger for mere political power.
And you can continue to make fun of me, or accuse me of all sorts of political crimes or failings because I do it. But I will sleep at night anyway.

AHEM….

Marc;
Your post shows that not only Plame and her husband are lying sacks of excrement, so is Senator Carl Levin, current Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Commitee and a source the leftos relied upon when smearing bush with lying about those “16 words” in his SOTUS:

39 Sarge,
Were lying a hanging offense in Washington D.C., well there just would not be enough cherry trees to do the job.

Seems I am wrong.
and Ted Kennedy is following right along, of course.
Have a nice day.
#46 After these past almost 4 years w/ a kid in the military, I admit I’m some what nuts and no longer trust ANY politician with his or our welfare. And since he has 4 years of reserve duty to go, our gov damn sure better get its’ act together and QUICK.

simple;

Just curious, now that I am confident we are buds, (see apology in #47), do you really have a tat of GWB on your butt?

with apologies like that it would have been LESS PAINFUL to “bury” the hatchet
Which part of my pointing out the actual lies told by actual people while presetning acgtual proof of it would make you beleive that?
Do you think that the lies Levin and others told about Bush hepled any?
Or did they make a bad situation a whole lot worse—DANGEROUSLY WORSE?
Is your justified disappointement about many of the policies of Bush enough to get you to condone or ingnore those lies?
Just wondering–now that we’re buds, amybe you can tell me.
I promised Big45Iron I would post more links about Fred Thompson. Here is his blog, The Fred Thompson Report, at ABC.

Look at what Bush is doing to himself for crying out loud. He has insulted everyone that disagrees with him on illegal immigration, sided AGAIN with fast Ted, ran out a dog and pony show of border security that is all smoke and mirrors and you are worried about what we already know about the democrats?
Repeat after me
President Hillary Clinton and Veep Obama.
Can someone please explain to Mr Conspiracy Theory/me why the president of the uS picks the head of the world bank?
It is just a question.
Before the end of the day please.
Yes, Lord, it is YOUR day and I will not go bezerk…
Now…where is that Xanax?
Mark Tapscott, editor of the Washington Examiner and also a Texan, has it covered:
http://www.examiner.com/blogs/tapscotts_copy_desk/2007/6/1/Kyl-Unmasked-as-Senator-Secrecy-on-FOIA-Reform-Defends-Big-Governments-First-Line-of-Defense
Let me add that I am ignorant as to the picking of the world bank leader so please go easy on me!
Thanks

#65 DJ
I am convinced McCain has gone completely around the bend. He doesn’t even sound coherent anymore.
daniel when i lived close to detroit many years ago about 30 you could not go certain place back then let alone now.
/Note to self
Quit messing with Serge’. Everyone leaves the room.

GO FRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sarge,
How can I phrase this reply…..? DELETED!
Simple
Yeah;
convincing the rest of the planet that you had evidence that the President lied and distorted intelligence to get us into a war when the truth was conveniently classified did one hell of a lot to promote peace and keep the terrorists from recruiting.
No Serge’ Here is the truth
Sorry bout the long post y’all….
I’m out of here.
The day of 9/11 Bush should have sent our planes on a mission, made an FDR speech, and forced congress hand to declare war, and then prosecuted it.
There would be a whole lot of pacifisity going on right now if he had done so.

As it is.. make up your own mind about Alien Amnesty from my blog.
Sorry I’ve been away so long, but I hope you like my return.
Enforce the 1986 Amnesty Act, then come talk to me about 2007 problems, Jorge.
Better late than never, Wino…and you bring up a very relevant point. It is a complete, absolute joke! Do you not believe this is all a joke?
If it wasn’t so funny, it would be laughable!
Fool me once, Sunny, shame on me.
Fool me twice… well, fill in the blank yourself.
Early days, Wino…I will fill in the blanks…and boy! They could be lots of fun!
Serge’
That is the same old rehashed crap the dems have been throwing out for years now. Just like voters the dems are always resurrecting dead things.**
