Well, well. Who’d a thunk it? Republicans siding with Teddy are damaged in the polls.
An immigration alliance with Democratic Sen. Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts is damaging Arizona Sen. John McCain and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham among conservative Republicans.
What a shocker that is. As Mike Huckabee said, “What part of Kennedy do you not understand?”.
“I’m very wary of a Republican who is talking to Ted Kennedy,” Rick Beltram, Republican Party chairman for Spartanburg County, S.C., told The Washington Times yesterday, after it was reported that Mr. Graham and Mr. McCain had first checked with Mr. Kennedy before deciding to vote with the Massachusetts Democrat on an amendment to the Senate bill.
You and me both, Mr. Beltram. One of McCain’s county chairmen in South Carolina resigned from his campaign because of his support of Teddy’s amnesty bill.
A South Carolina Republican who resigned Wednesday from the McCain campaign said he had reached a “parting of ways with McCain and Lindsey Graham” over the immigration issue.
“I hear from a lot of people, and I have yet to get one positive opinion on this immigration bill,” David Nix, who served as chairman for Mr. McCain’s campaign in Aiken County, S.C., told The Times yesterday.
“I feel McCain and Graham are out of touch with the people of South Carolina,” Mr. Nix said. “They are listening to the illegal aliens and not the citizens. We have lot of illegal aliens in this state.”
Not everything is peachy though. At this point, it looks like no one is willing to challenge Teddy’s buddy Lindsay Graham in the primary next year.
In South Carolina, Mr. Graham faces re-election next year, but Republican officials there said he is unlikely to face a primary challenger.
That is very disappointing. This is the exact time that conservative should be able to make an impact in the primaries. Here’s to hoping that someone will step up to the plate and challenge Sen. Graham.

Another “Kennedy Road Trip of Doom”!
When the GOP looks to Kennedy for leadership an elephant sized beeyoch slappin’ is in order!
Dusty Harry Said this was/is Presedents bill
and his party -republicans- were to BLAME that
it did not pass.
thanks republicans
The American people have made their presence felt and expressed their viewpoint. The politicians need to be made aware that come time to vote we will also make our presence known.
The war over the amnesty bill is not over. We won this battle but it is going to be reintroduced until we replace those who introduce and support this illegal immigration stance. Why these people are referred to as illegal immigrants is beyond me. They are criminals waiting to take our money, culture and entire society back to Mehico and leave us here broke from supporting, educating and doctoring them.
Keep the heat on and get ready for the next bill to be slid in as they try to do it again.
I don’t think I should have said that. It is so UNAmerican. Hogwash. These criminals are just that. Build the wall. Enforce the Border protection. Protect OUR country and than maybe we can consider some immigration reform but NOT AMNESTY.
It was a bad bill and deserved to be defeated. However, had it not been for the millions of call from the people it would have most likely passed. You can and have had influence on legislation.
Now, if we could just get our Government to enforce the immigrations laws they have already passed.
Right now Dan Patrick is the only Republican Party office holder that still has my total support for re-election.
I will probably vote in the GOP primary against all incumbants regardless of race color, greed, age or sex. In the General Election I will vote for any one other than a Republican critter or a demo critter. I and millions of others did that in the fall of 1974 after the Tricky Dick resignation/impeachment fiasco. Remember the stupid party regulars that sucked up to Tricky Dick up to the very end –just like the turkeys still clinging to El Presidente Jorge (Traitor in Chief)!
TEX06
Gee, isn’t that how we ended un with Carter as President? Do you really think that is what we need?
Why not work in the primaries to get a real conservative we can support.

Correctamundo !!!
It was a bad bill. I’m glad it failed. Now we can move toward an open border policy with Mexico.
This would have been an appropriate story to post my Kennedy photoshop.
Sen. McCain just pushed his candidacy over the cliff with this amnesty bill. Took his sidekick Sen. Graham with it.
Object lesson: When you get up to dance with a gorilla (Kennedy), you don’t sit down until the gorilla gets tired.
#8 Guillermo: Sure, just as soon as Mexico allows our citizens to freely roam across their border.
Oh, that’s right, they throw people in jail for the same thing?
But somehow American’s are supposed to accept this double standard and disrespect of our sovreinty…….even the Mexican’s are stupid enough to do that…..!
are not, stupid enough to allow that, that is……
#6 and #7,
We got Jimmah Carter because the 1976 GOP nominee was Gerald Ford, an amoral RINO party hack loser nothing.
Moral to story: When the GOP runs a party hack amoral RINO loser nothing, anything else on the ballot wins beit Donald Duck or Mickey Mouse!
BTW,
Got my letter yesterday from the RNC under Laura Bushes letterhead inviting a contribution to the RNC and to send a birthday greeting to”W” on his 61st birthday.
I wrote back that my contribution to the RNC was $0.00, did not have present for El Presidente, but suggested that he could give Houston a birthday gift by sending 1,000,000 wetbacks back to Mexico!!
13. Or all the ******* that came from Europe!
How about that?
#14 What, a guilt trip agent? Speak for your own family, bud, not mine. Your people may be ******* at your house, but not at mine.
Go wallow in your self loathing if you want, but I have nothing to apologize for being proud to be a Texan.
If you don’t like it, why don’t you move somewhere else?
