They just couldn’t bring themselves to say unborn baby.I bet they even had a meeting on the proper terminology to use too.

    News-speak = newspeak

This saddened many compassionate people. The suspect and accomplice should be put to death without a trial by jury since 99% of the evidence points to them. I doubt they can get a fair trial anywhere (i.e. Scott Peterson).

The last sentence inparticular sounds angry, kind of choppy? My guess would be they are upset he’s being charged with double murder and not just one count for the mother. So they make a political statement by calling the baby a “fetus.”

It should be a rule that if a woman is carrying the child*, it’s a baby. She clearly thought of the little girl as a baby, as the little girl had a name.

This is such a tragedy. And what’s worse, is that when it was first reported that the pregnant woman went missing … my first thought was she’s been murdered by the father of her child.

I hate what that says about our society; that my first thought was the father killed both his child and the mother of his child.

My prayers and thoughts go out to her family and his, what must his mother be thinking of the son she raised?

*as opposed to aborting the pregnancy

How about having a lotto to see who gets to throw the switch on this excuse for a human being…..

  5. dowjones25k on June 25th, 2007 at 12:48 pm

at that time they could hace done a c section and had a baby. it was a human being folks!

  6. Tito on June 25th, 2007 at 1:00 pm

I’m a proud fully formed fetus.

That’s plain ridiculous. That sends up the “I’m a flaming liberal” flag immediately.

  7. strongbow on June 25th, 2007 at 1:39 pm

In light of this, I guess it is murder if the baby is killed in the womb by someone other than a doctor, otherwise it is abortion if done by a doctor. Talk about a double-standard.

I have been watching this tragedy since the beginning and I knew it was the boyfriend. Always is.

Everybody who knew this girl said the same thing. How smart, funny and great person she was. How in the heck did she get mixed up with this loser who was married and had two other women knocked up? What was she thinking? He was going to be a good husband and father? Her stupidity cost this woman her life.

You see this on these YouTube girls fighting videos. Nice looking white chicks fighting over a bunch of gang banging thugs. Maybe the degradation of our morals is tied to the destructive behavior exhibited by women in our society. Girls never used to act this way. The men were the idiots.

“Maybe the degradation of our morals is tied to the destructive behavior exhibited by women in our society. Girls never used to act this way. The men were the idiots.”

Usually I wouldn’t do this but what the heck … the degradation of our morals is because the women have started acting like idiots whereas the men have always acted like idiots?

Call me sensitive … but did you just say she’s dead and it’s the women in our societies fault?

And what are “YouTube girls fighting videos”?

  10. gregg on June 25th, 2007 at 3:28 pm

Yes, women have been the stabilizing force. Now women are acting like men. You havent seen the videos on Youtube of girls beating the crap out of each other with their worthless boyfriends standing around videotaping?

A few years ago this woman would have been called a worthless whore and shunned by any decent man for going out with a guy like that. Her death is a tragedy and we should pray for her. She made a terrible choice and paid with her life.

  11. american woman on June 25th, 2007 at 3:51 pm

We removed morals, remember, those pesky things that no matter how you may be tempted, remind you to NOT cross the line. Also, we removed all shame. It takes shame to keep us in line, once shame is gone, wheeeeeeeeee. We decided our children should be raised by television and child care providers. We women took jobs to be able to have that second car, computer, save for kids education, vacation to disney. We were told me must do this to be fullfilled women. As we see society crumble, it seems to me, we were all sold a bill of goods.

  12. american woman on June 25th, 2007 at 4:22 pm

I didn’t add anything about the inability for the AP to call a baby a baby. It’s shameful.

  13. bigjolly on June 25th, 2007 at 5:31 pm

Do not dare talk about morals or Obama will take you to task.

  14. Adee on June 25th, 2007 at 6:12 pm

Not only did the AP writer, Joe Milicia, refer to Baby Chloe as a fetus, now the CBS TV affiliate station reporter (female) echoed that descirption in the piece on the 5 pm Channel 11 newscast. The media types have no clue how infuriating that is. Then they wonder why readership/viewership is way down. A pox on both their houses.

Good for Ohio charging double homicide in this dreadful case.

Channel 11 certainly is not to blame for the Ohio station’s sickening word choice.

  15. gregg on June 25th, 2007 at 6:38 pm

It might be technical. Its usually not called a baby till after its born. They usually call it a fetus inside the womb. You people may be making more of this than it is to fit your political bent. But, hey this is LST.

  16. american woman on June 25th, 2007 at 6:45 pm

When Lacey Peterson was murdered, her baby, not born, was a baby with the press. After that, we anti-abortion crowd used the arguement, the courts said this was a baby, and a double murder. The left wing lib nuts realized we had a valid arguement. Thus we now have 9 month old fetus and not a baby that was murdered. Adee I am with you , a pox on them.!!

  17. Jean on June 25th, 2007 at 6:49 pm

Gregg, Gee you must be a yungin’. women call their babies babies even in the womb. It has just been this last decade the “FETUS” verbage has really penitrated the sceen. I have never heard a women say she was shopping for her fetus, or she felt fetus kick. PC police have infiltrated your thinking on that one.
The article is insulting, demeaning and lacks the feeling or compassion it should have over this tragedy.

  18. TEX06 on June 25th, 2007 at 7:06 pm

The behavior of both “white trash” and “black trash” is a tragedy.

Talking about nomenclature, when is the last time when media has properly referred to white trash as white trash. We all know what the perp’ is by the picture!

  19. bigjolly on June 25th, 2007 at 8:16 pm

    #17 Jean

You have a valid point, even for Gregg.

Gregg, have you ever heard the term “fetus shower”?

    No? Didn’t think so.

  20. gregg on June 25th, 2007 at 8:25 pm

The gifts are for when the baby is born. Dont see many fetus themed gifts. All you can do is insult.

I have no dog in this fight and i could really care less what you decide to call it. You just want to make this whole thing out to be some black conspiracy against you. Baby, fetus, who gives a rats a$$.

  21. bigjolly on June 25th, 2007 at 9:03 pm

    What was the insult?

  22. Jean on June 25th, 2007 at 9:18 pm

    Gregg,
Wasn’t attempting to insult anybody, just teasing you a bit. I don’t think it’s some kind of conspiracy, I do believe it is the subtle changing of the terminolgy that makes us less sensitive to the issue. If we come to think of a baby only when we see it at birth we lose the most natural process of recognizing the life at it’s most vulnerable stages.
Losing that sensitivity is a natural result of accepting abortion at any stage.
Just like sex is so blasted across every avenue the sentivity toward modesty or purity is being snuffed out like a flame.

  23. gregg on June 25th, 2007 at 9:24 pm

“even for Greg” That denotes I am less than someone with a nominal level of understanding. If it was made in jest no problem. Since coming out on Shakes site we are all kind of sensitive.

  24. GoodJobTim on June 25th, 2007 at 9:35 pm

Just as you, Gregg, will react negatively to ANY story with Bush mentioned (no comment on that except to make the point), the pro abortion crowd will always refuse to admit its a baby. No conspiracy, it is what it is.

  25. GoodJobTim on June 25th, 2007 at 9:38 pm

    Tigers do what Tigers do.

  26. bigjolly on June 26th, 2007 at 5:35 am

gregg, it certainly wasn’t to “denotes I am less than someone with a nominal level of understanding”. I apologize for it coming across like that.

  27. Adee on June 26th, 2007 at 4:08 pm

Gregg seems to have a case of optic rectosis recently.
