Had it been Hillary the same people would have been defending the practice.

I hope that the dog was in a carrier and not just bunjie corded to the roof!

  3. little mike on June 29th, 2007 at 3:02 pm

    Very strange whatever the circumstances.

Had it been hillary………..I bet Bill was tempted to strap her to the roof more than once! Can you imagine the caterwauling?

I don’t know, that sounds kind of weird to me. I know the libtards in the media just pulled it out now to attack a republican, but wow, that is a strange thing to do. What, was he driving down the highway with the dog on top of the roof??

  6. little mike on June 29th, 2007 at 3:24 pm

I used to have a cat that would get on the roof of my truck and ride to the corner store and back. It was only a quarter mile at 20 mph and he seemed to enjoy it.

    All the neighbors would laugh.

I’m seeing National Lampoon’s Vacation now, when Chevy Chase tied the family pet to the back bumper and drug him for a few miles.

As someone who has owned more than one Irish Setter, I can tell you that riding on top of a car in a cage is no different than mine riding in the back of the pickup. They love the wind in their faces and have a tendency to let their tongues hang out. My Irish’s loved it. The faster you go, the better they liked it.

Next thing you know we will be reading that Romney had a “special” relationship with the dog. But it would not be the first time a politician had a relationship with a dog. Hillary, anyone?

How do these “family type incidents” get into the news in the first place? It seems trivial because it happened way back when and really this kind of family episode is nobody’s business.

Unless one of the family members blurted it out, it should not be “dirt” for the media. Of course, the media loves this type of tactic which they use unmercifully because they are zealots.

The dog was in a crate #2.

I can totally see a dog going for it. It was ‘83 people [reporters]…lets find something that’s of the last decade to discuss at least.

I saw this first over at Hugh Hewitts blog. Dean Barnett has the CUTEST picture of a pup up.

I don’t know…I don’t like this story at all, whether it’s 24 years old or not.

  12. PBFloyd on June 29th, 2007 at 6:08 pm

Sunny: I agree! Do we really need to hear about this shi…….oh, well, you know!

    This is disgusting,

  13. bigjolly on June 29th, 2007 at 7:23 pm

Guys, the dog was having fun! Unbelievable. I can’t believe anyone would think that this was bad. Geez, Louise, as my mom used to say.

I don’t care if it was yesterday! Nothing wrong with taking your dog on a trip.

Geeeez, this was way back when we, the humans, didn’t have to wear seatbelts, our parents smoked in the car with the windows rolled up…AND, we drank from a waterhose, had lawn darts, P.E. in school, and my personal favorite, the wood burning tool with the 6 inch cord.

Is there a statute of limitations for strapping your dog in a kennel on top of a car? Was there even a LAW against it back then?

  15. Neocon on June 29th, 2007 at 10:38 pm

Much ado about nothing. Leave it to left to drum up stuff like this.

  16. Wino on June 29th, 2007 at 10:41 pm

This from the same group who continually said Bill Clinton’s anti-American past wasn’t an issue because it was old news.

Hypocrisy at its worst. I think I’m going to start calling them the “Hypocratic” party.

  17. Texas Mike on June 29th, 2007 at 11:15 pm

    Here goes my first post.

Concerning Romney’s dog it would have been cruel to have left it locked up at some dog kennel for two weeks where the dog would have been confined to a cage. I’ll bet the dog had as much fun as the family.
