Want a good deal on some used crap that smells like hippies?
Cindy Sheehan will return to her protest site near President Bush’s Crawford ranch this weekend to bid farewell to the peace movement — but not with an anti-war rally.
Instead, Sheehan will sell some camping items, gather with friends from previous demonstrations and celebrate her 50th birthday in Crawford, about 100 miles south of Fort Worth.

Useless Eaters
by The Panda Man · 07/03/2007 12:05 pmIf you consider yourself “green,” have you truly considered what that movement stands for today? Are you sure you know what you are supporting? While most people have no problem with reasonable efforts to clean up our messes, the stridency and anti-Americanism evident in the global environmental movement today is quite a turn-off for many. Perhaps you think I exaggerate.
Human greed takes lion’s share of solar energy
HUMANS are just one of the millions of species on Earth, but we use up almost a quarter of the sun’s energy captured by plants - the most of any species.
The human dominance of this natural resource is affecting other species, reducing the amount of energy available to them by almost 10 per cent, scientists report.
Yes, this is an actual news story reporting actual scientific “research.” All of you people on the earth are soaking up too much sun, and hogging the benefits of plant growth. Cute little animals in the ecosystem are being cheated. And those of you who push “bio-fuels” as a fossil fuel alternative are just as bad. You are hawking damage to the earth!
They also warned that the increased use of biofuels - such as ethanol and canola - should be viewed cautiously, given the potential for further pressure on ecosystems.
You see, the real problem here is simply that too many humans are using too much solar energy to feed themselves.
This showed humans used 24 per cent of the energy that was captured by plants. More than half of this was due to the harvesting of crops or other plants.
And where does all of this lead us?
An agriculture professor at the
University ofMelbourne , Snow Barlow, said the paper showed humans were taking up too much of an important natural resource.“Here we are, just one species on the earth, and we’re grabbing a quarter of the renewable resources … we’re probably being a bit greedy.”
You see, all of you glorified apes, also known as human beings, are chiseling the world’s species out of their fair share of sunlight. Something must be done! It is obviously time to cull the herd and make room for more otters, seals, and spotted owls.
Hitler once said similar things about Jews, the disabled, and other “useless eaters” who were a blight on the world and consumed valuable resources.
But hey, it’s not easy being green.
Mayor White would not let the fact that the City Council decided to no longer fund the day labor site which caters to illegal aliens and the criminal employers who hire them. He went out of his way to aid and abet this enterprise.
The controversial day labor site, slated to close after a city contract expired last month, will operate for another year with $100,000 in private funding, officials confirmed on Monday. The center had been Houston’s only city-funded day labor facility.
…
Levinson credited the donations to a fundraising effort by Mayor Bill White, who last month pledged to find funding to operate the center after the contract expired. Levinson said the donors wish to remain anonymous.
White has a habit of encouraging lawlessness. At the same time he is fostering criminal hiring, he continues to prevent our police officers from inquiring into the legal status of those roaming the streets in Houston - more and more of whom are dangerous gangsters.
And this man wants to be our Governor.
But, of course, this is all about pandering to everyone except natural born citizens:
One center client is Mexico City native Francisco Reyes, 42, who said he comes to the facility daily looking for work.
”It offers a service that is real good,” said Reyes, who has lived in Houston for nearly a decade. ”Here they give us coffee. We can watch television until a contractor comes here to hire us.”
Isn’t it time for ICE, or some enterprising news organization, or some civic-minded private group, to expose this site? How about some hidden cameras (done legally, of course) identifying the contractors who hire the illegals? How about lawsuits against those contractors under RICO or other statutes?
Haven’t we had enough of our politicans slapping us in the face to cater to current illegals they hope will soon be voters?
KHOU’s local news coverage this morning featured a story on a recent YouTube video that “depicts a rough image of Houston’s Fifth Ward,” highlighting and even glorifying the gang life and drug use that has long been so prevalent in our inner-city neighborhoods.
The self-proclaimed gang members and drug dealers are bragging about their so-called thug life on a popular video site over the World Wide Web.
Unfortunately, when the news team brought the video to the attention of Houston City Councilman Jarvis Johnson, his reaction demonstrates one of the reasons Houston’s traditionally low income, minority majority wards has stayed in such a state for so long.
“They can’t be the voice of Fifth Ward,” said Jarvis as he watched the video. The councilman’s district includes the Fifth Ward.
“The Fifth Ward has such a strong history, a strong culture, a strong sense of pride. I’m angry. I’m angry about a video that portrays such a great neighborhood in such a negative manner.“
Not angry that crime, gang violence and drug use have for years dominated these neighborhoods. Not angry that families living in his district must deal with these evils on a daily basis. Angry that a video accessible around the nation is depicting his home turf “in such a negative manner.”
And to underscore just how angry Councilman Johnson was about the atrocities shown in this online video, it was left to the 11 News crew to take the video to the local authorities in an attempt to have something done about it.
Tell me again why we call such people “community leaders”?
But apparently, $250 million can’t buy A-Rod a classy wife.
Bombers brass yesterday called superstar Alex Rodriguez and his wife, Cynthia, on the carpet after she wore a T-shirt that said “F- - - you” during a game at Yankee Stadium.
And where was her child at the time?
Cynthia, 34, had the couple’s 2-year-old daughter, Natasha, on her lap while wearing the obscene shirt. At last night’s game, fan Scott Deskins, 43, called the shirt “extremely offensive.”
What a gal.
New Brownsville Mayor Pat M. Ahumada Jr. apparently wants his city to look like a Mexican city.
There were no vacancies at the city shelter Monday, leaving strays on the street and residents complaining.
A 90-day moratorium on euthanizing impounded pets is in place, ordered by the city’s new mayor.
After putting the moratorium in place, he blames the Animal Control director for the mess HE created.
“This situation makes Brownsville look like a third-world country with stray dogs running around.”
What a stand up guy he is. Not.
Interestingly, here is a snippet of a travel advisory for Mexico.
One important thing to watch out for in Mexico are the stray dogs (and cats) that abound both in the city and out. One would have noticed while traveling in Mexico the number of dogs lying on the side of any road - dead or alive.
Stray animals are a health problem, whether you are in Mexico or the U.S. A feel good policy isn’t going to change that basic fact. Let Animal Control do what they need to do Mr. Mayor.
