This is terrifying. How do we combat this?

The First Amendment has been twisted by the courts until, today, it protects porn and nude dancing but not political speech.

    McCain-Feingold is evidence of that.

Soon, we may face a ban on reading publically from some sections of the Bible because those sections are defined by some hearers as offensive and hateful. So much for the exercise of religion and freedom of assembly.

Perhaps, the Supremes stepped back from such a perverted reasoning in their recent 5-4 decision.

If there is a “litmus test” in the 2008 elections, it has to be the candidate’s stance on political speech … and talk radio is part of that.

A second litmus test would be fighting radical Islamists here and worldwide.

Would college campuses be exempt from the “Fairness Doctrine”? Would they have to hire a conservative speaker to counter any Ward Churchill speech? Tons of public monies go to, and they are chartered and such by gov’t entities. So shouldn’t every liberal indoctrination received by a student be countered by an opposing view? Would a liberal professor have to have a conservative viewpoint expressed?

I can see pirate internet radio springing up! Or Dan Patrick and Michael Savage broadcasting from boats in the Gulf of Mexico. It’s only fair when liberals agree with it.

We are so much better informed since talk radio became available. An informed voter is a scary thing to the left.

Ofcourse they will link it to the “hate crimes” act. Conservative talk radio IS a hate crime in their opinion.
“that talk radio is hateful and causing injury and death to people.”

I wonder if they have some phone statistics on that as well.
Let’s see . . .Radio waves that lead to death & violence? I think the “Rap-a-ho” gang banger has caused more violence than Rush Limbaugh :)))
Or maybe they will talk about the violence of THERI uncontrollable demobrats as they attack minute men, ann coulter and the such.
