Now I’ve been crying lately,
thinking about the world as it is
Why must we go on hating,
why can’t we live in bliss?
Flipping through the channels just now I came across one of the Live Earth shows, this one in Hamburg, Germany. And guess who was on stage? The former Cat Stevens, Mr. Yusef Islam. He was singing his classic hit Peace Train. Yup, the same Yusef that came out in support of that grand master of peace, Ayatollah Khomeini’s fatwa calling for the death of Salman Rushdie. In fact, Cat Boy has publicly stated that Rushdie should die for the “crime” of writing a book critical of the Islamic faith. So Mr. Islam, I ask you in your own words: Why must you go on hating? Why can’t you live in bliss? What a disgusting excuse for a human being. Shame on Al Gore for being willing to sell his soul to further his lost cause.

Evil fashions itself many ways. The disguises are too many to count. Evil comes in the name of many things. It’s insidious. If you get really close, you can smell the stench but from afar evil disappears in the crowd.

That is almost the same as when my hair on the back of my neck stand up. It tells me too beware.
There’s so much hypocrisy inherent in the “Live Earth” concerts I can’t even begin to describe it. Headshaker ought to be fairly twitching right now from it all…
One would think that Cat Stevens would be UN-invited after last week’ events. (Almost Dead people)
I despise al-Gore worse than death. They should call this concert “Scum of the Earth…”
al-Gore should be in prison!
I heard that John McSwine was to make an appearance as well as soon as Hayseed Graham’s nose was surgically removed from his backside.
It’s all such a crock! These concerts are just spiking up CO2 emissions from power generation, and paper waste (think of all the cardboard from food concesstions, candybars, etc.) They’re causing more harm than good.
I’ve posted this before but, just in case;
http://www.snopes.com/politics/bush/house.asp
Do as I say not as I do, and never mind that man behind the curtain. Al Bore is just trying to stay in the lime-light any way he can,…Pitiful, just Pitiful.
Cat was trying to open a school years back after he had converted to Islam and left the US, and women who applied to teach were told they had to wear traditional Islamic garb - couldn’t show their faces in the classroom.
This is “enlightenment?” I thought school was supposed to “open our minds.”
Academic freedom is dead, and hiprocracy is the rule of the land.
Just read Al Gore’s feature article in on the front page of the OutLook Section.
It is hard to belief that a guy that was Vice President for 8 years could be such an ignorant stupid loon!
While for most Liberals, their problem is simple mental disorder. For those affected with the Al Gorian pychosis, their issue is criminal insanity.
Algore is making millions. I bet he becomes a Republican when tax time comes.
Is it just me or does it seem like the older Gorezilla gets the more feminine he becomes?
Poor Al Gore…he doesn’t know what his problem is, but it is probably too hard to pronounce.
In my opinion he was born a rich blueblood who believed he was royalty. He thinks it is his God-given right to lead people. Not unlike our current President, really (but at least Bush gave us some tax cuts). These political families like the Kennedys, Gores, Bushes are people that have never had to live in the real world. I don’t think the founding fathers wanted political dynasties. I hope the American people believe that in ‘08 and don’t start a new dynasty.
Madonna thanked Al Gore, the brainchild of the nine concerts across the globe, “for giving the world the wake-up call it so badly needs and for starting an avalanche of awareness that we are running out of time”.
She said: “Lets hope tonight’s concert and the concerts going on around the world are not just about entertainment but starting a revolution around the world. If you want to save the planet let me see you jump.”
That’s the ticket. We can all jump and save the planet! Both he and The Madonnaslut use 10-20 times more energy than the average american. What a crock of you know what! Hypocracy reigns and runs amuck!
The saddest thing about this, there are thousands upon thousands of people who buy into Algore’s BS that that man can control the enviornment! I read somewhere recently that grade schoolers are being shown his film as being the gospel truth.
I recall also, the Russian Premiere, Nikita Kruschev’s speech in the late 50’s where he said “We will bury you!” while banging his shoe on the poduim. He wasn’t referring to bombing us but corrupting the minds of our youth and they would do the job for him. Well, folks, it’s working. Take a look back and see what’s transpired since that time. The people who particiapted in the make love - not war/ hippie movement in the 60’s and 70’s are the albores and ” I did vote for the war before I voted against it” John Effin Kerry’s of today.
/ going to take medicine now.

Wow!
Islam is a religion of peace.
Don’t its followers statements make that obvious?
Maybe Al Bore could buy some carbon credits by helping out the poor families that had fathers, sons, brothers and uncles die from the black lung disease they contracted working for the Island Coal Company that Al Bore’s dad made millions from. Or restore the land that was destroyed by the same coal company. Or may restore the lands that his dad helped destroy while he was the attorney for Occidental Petroleum Company.
This SOB is a hypocrit of the enth degree. Instead, he will try to distance himself from the sins of his father. After all, with George Soros and Maurice Strong behind him, how can Gore go wrong?
We used to hunt socialists down. Now we pay them to put on concerts and live like gentry.
Texas06, retire05 - your posts are typical of conservatives these days. Your ship is sinking, so make virulent personal attacks on people who disagee with you. This is the height of intellectual weakness.
I would be the first to admit that a fair number of loonies and publicity seeking airheads make up the eco-movement, but I contend that conservation is not entirely incompatible with conservative philosophy. Taking care of one’s assets and preserving a future for our progeny is fundemental to conservatism.
The Hell-to-the-Hindmost and Everything-for-me crowd are not conservatives, but rather folks that use elements of conservatism to justify their own selfish actions. The Soros crowd co-opts the ecology movement to advance their own agenda in the same manner.
Is there irony and hypocrisy at these concerts? You bet; it is there by the ton, but look any any grouping and that includes the Republican or Democrat conventions and hypocrisy can be found if one looks closely.
The real question is simple. Is it a conservative approach to use resources in a practical and responsible manner? I do not believe that a true conservative would signon to wasteful practices.
Simple
gadboy, sorry to inform you, but at least I have a ship. The left’s boat sailed a long time ago and it is going to be a lot of fun watching your “victim wife” and the “boytoy” trying to out bash each other.
So go back to your New Socialist Dhimmicratic Party of America meeting and watch is show you for what you really are; trolls.
Simon, I have to call you on this one. You normally try to be reasonable, so why not this time?
Nobody is saying that we should not “use resources in a practical and responsible manner”. We’re saying that the theory behind man-made global warming is far from settled and algore’s answers are not even the best answers even if it WAS settled. Algore even has a conflict of interest in promoting the subject.
Jimb brings up one of the more distasteful tactics of the “green” movement: the mantra that conservatives don’t care about the environment. The link Dave provided in #8 is a prime example. Here you have two public figures, one calling for jihad on our way of life while personally sucking up resources disproportionately, and the other man actually thinking about conservation and putting it into action in a real and measurable way. Of course he gets no credit from the Eco-terrorists.
I just realized that the environmental Left really do compare quite well to another fanatical “religion” we are currently battling. Both have no room for any dissent or reasoned debate.
Jimb, Just so you know….this is my position.
1. Global Warming is occuring and has been doing so for a long long time. The earth has gone thru several warming and cooling stages long before man or his hairy ancestors could ever make an impact.
2. Man does have an impact today, but the extent and magnitude of that impact is difficult to quantify at this time. The inablity to quantify the impact does not render the possiblity true or false; just unproven. I have seen no compelling evidence from either camp. YET!
It is my belief that being prudent with natural resources has many other good benefits and if it helps with global warming, well that is just icing on the cake.
Justifying wasteful behaivor because Al Gore is an idiot is well .. IDIOTIC TOO !!
Simple
I could care less about Al Gore and his crowd. Whatzits-Aid Concerts have never seriously impacted any of the causes they represent, but they make a lot of well-intentioned folks and a few idiots feel better at the end of the day. Yet, at the end of the day the problems remain for the worker-bees of society to fix.
I view myself as a practical Scientist (aka Engineer).
That’s just it - I haven’t really seen anyone around “these parts” trying to do that. If I do, I will let you know.
I am just surprised that the “carbon credits” scam is something that anybody takes seriously. It really serves no purpose other than to make rich liberals feel better about themselves.
But that’s the key, Jimb. When rich liberals feel better about themselves then they’ve accomplished something, even though in the grand scheme of things they have made absolutely no difference. It’s all about relieving their self-loathing.
jimb, you forget one thing: beyond what you say, is the deliberate purpose of distracting people from real issues (such as the culpability of the Grifter, errr, Clinton administration for being responsible for 9/11!!)and diverting the agenda to contrived nonsense! Besides trying to maintain some relevance, of which he has none.
It takes a fool to take a fool seriously: this is the same guy who claimed(this documented, despite whatever some self-appointed psuedo internet Jeopardy judge Snopes claims!)to have invented the internet!!
AlSpore is a complete blathering imbecile, and a complete waste of human protoplasm, as is anyone who would give him creedence.
I just wonder how many of the people that support Gore publicly are secretly wondering just how long they can continue to do so. Many of them surely must understand how ridiculous the argument is. It’s got to be reaching a point where it’s embarrassing to give voice to this fool. Of course this is just my opinion!
Texpat I have noticed lately that many conservatives have worked themselves into an almost incoherent frenzy talking about how much they dislike Democrats, but they are not offering up any positive talk about their candidates. your party can not seem to come up with a solution to the war in Iraq, the Middle East is more dangerous now than before we invaded Iraq, your party is unable or unwilling to solve the immigration issue, your party is ignoring the fact that their might be issues with the environment, etc., etc., etc,. When the presidents approval ratings started to go south, the conservative mantra became “things would be worse if we had a Democratic president”. Please tell he how that would be possible.
I’m sorry Texpat. That last post should have been directed to Retire05. Sorry for the confusion.
#30 - number 1, it could be FAR worse. Just take our current situation and move the government further to the left. Simple.
We’re quite clear on the solution: We need less liberal Republicans in office OR some real conservatives in office. Take your pick, but the answer isn’t, as you seem to suggest, to elect Democrats…
And what would change in Iraq “real” conservatives were in office?
Gadfly,
That was real tricky how you tried to change the subject from AlBore’s chicanery…….I feel compelled to remind you that this post is about AlSnore and his being the vacuous moron he is for spewing nonsense, at which he has lots of practice, since he has never actually had a real job in his life.
Um, go back and read what Wino has written about Iraq to get an idea, not that your change of subject has anything to do whatsoever with the subject at hand.
I was using this post as an example of how conservatives are resorting to virulent personal attacks because their party is bankrupt when it comes to the issues and they can’t stand on their performance. It then took this turn. Two questions about Wino and Iraq:
1)What is his position on Iraq?
2)Where does he get his credibility on the issue?
#34 Do we really want to bring up the subject of real jobs when our president was an abject failure in his business career?
#37: If you are looking for a rousing defense of JorgeBoosh, you won’t get one from me.
But we are talking about AlBore, not GW for now; is it possible for you to stay on the subject?
At least GW could actually carry his home state, which pathetic AlSpore couldn’t manage to do!
AlWhore is a flaming imbecile, propped up by socialist stooges like him, to foist an imaginary crisis on people stupid enough to believe him, so that he can continue to get his stupid looking mug on TV and think himself to be relevant.
I think Hamous is giving him to much credit by saying he has a soul still left to sell, I think that’s been gone for a long time: it’s our country’s soul he’s still trying to sell out, as far as I’m concerned!
PB I couldnt agree more.
I’ve feel like I’ve gone through the looking glass here and I am in the world of blatant hypocrisy. This is just beyond belief.
“to foist an imaginary crisis on people stupid enough to believe him,”
If this doesn’t describe WMD’s and the war in Iraq, I don’t know what does. Give me a break and tell me you don’t really believe all this crap you are spewing Floyd, but that you know it just makes for a good argument . Al Gore is not evil or imbecilic or a socialist. He just looks at the world differently than you. Political dialogue in this country has really become dumbed down in the last few years and your posts are perfect examples.
Al Gore is not a good man. He is fostering a lie to promote a liar and to be a demagogue.
I’m not sure how you did it gaddy but you managed to turn a discussion on the hypocrisy of Cat Stevens singing “Peace Train” into the Left’s favorite non-argument about WMDs. Good one
It takes talent to do that , Mr Hamous
I’ll bet the audience applauded.
Then Gadfly we agree to disagree: to me the man is a socialist and an imbecile, and as I have stated previously. And anybody who would take anything seriously from someone who has made such a preposterously ridiculous claim as to have invented the internet, is also an imbecile.
And actually, your posts are consisently perfect examples of how dumbed down the debate has become that we even have to discuss an insufferable fool like AlBore and his bleating brain dead socialist morons.
Like all Dimocrats, all you can do is change the subject when you can’t argue a point intelligently.
How can I have an intelligent argument with you . You have already said that anyone who doesn’t agree with you is a “bleating brain dead socialist moron”. Any chance for a rational debate just went out the window on that one.
The evidence is pretty strong that Gore is a socialist. He represents the left wing of a party that openly advocates such concepts as redistribution of wealth, progressive income tax, abolition of rights of inheritance, and a state-controlled media (the so-called fairness doctrine). In fact, you could make a case for using the “C” word since all those concepts come directly from the 10 planks of the Communist Manifesto.
Fancying himself a scientist is a pretty moronic thing to do as well. Having a scientific education is a prerequisite for being a scientist. But maybe he did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.
Explain how the Democrats want to abolish rights of inheritance.
Inheritance tax. They religiously fight any attempt to lower it. Once lowered, however slightly, they religiously fight to raise it. Consequently you have family-owned property that must be sold just to pay the taxes.
Example: Randall Ohnstead’s (Randall’s Food Chain) kids had to sell large parts of the business to Safeway Inc. because of the amount of taxes they had to pay to inheret the business.
Safeway gained controlling amounts of stock and consequently closed the stores or sold them off. No mo Randalls
The Inheritance tax is the epitome of confiscatory taxes in that upon death taxes are collected on revenue and assets that have already had taxes paid on them.
Next in line is the Alternative Minimum Tax. But that is for another discussion.
So they don’t want to abolish inheritance, they just want to tax the higher inheritance amounts. Didn’t I read that maybe 2 percent of the people in this country would be affected?
Hey, Squawk.Randalls was having problems long before then. You know how cut throat the grocery business has always been in Houston. Fiesta was squeezing them on the low end, and Kroger and HEB were giving them fits on the higher end. Plus factor in that at that time they didn’t sell beer and wine so they were having problems staying competitve.
al-Gore IS a socialist! He should be in prison for criminal fraud! Anyone who defends al-Gore should be in prison too!! I’d fill the prisons with ‘em!
Gaddy
I knew the Ohnsteads (I am not name dropping or bovine excrementing you here) yeah they were struggling against the competition, however the sale WAS BECAUSE OF THE INHERITANCE TAX.
They could not “inherit” the business till Uncle Sugar was paid.
After Safeway Inc got involved Randall’s started selling beer and wine, that was toward the end.
NOPE
Gaddy
The threshold that the Inheretence tax kicks in is somewhere around 1.2 mil +-. Your 2% number is wrong. It was raised to that level because so many small family farms were being taken by the feds. Remember all the Farm Aid concerts? Part and parcel of the purpose was to save some of the family farms and fund the lobby to get the tax raised. The Democrats had a hissy fit.
In fact if things don’t change in 2011 the rate will be 55% beginning at 1 mil.
The inheritance tax is the only reason anyone needs to not be a member of the Demonrat party. How could anyone in their right mind support this tax? How? It’s not possible. It’s a sign of mental disease to support this tax…
Why can’t a man leave ALL of his money to WHOEVER he wants? WHY NOT?
It really is an insidious tax. It baffles me how anyone can defend it.
Hamous,
get some sleep, arn’t you handling testubes in the morning…
Long ago, in my student times, I participated in an anti-nuclear demonstration against the South Texas Nuclear Project. I rode in a bus with a bunch of others … and discovered I was the only person there who could even define radioactivity! None of them even knew what nuclear power actually is! Science buff that I have been since the age of 9, that was the beginning of the end of my love affair with the lefties. The “global warming crisis” is only the latest example of their scientific ignorance. But hateful name calling is neither necessary nor productive in identifying their foibles.
