The women who constitute the American feminist establishment today are destined to play little role in the battle for Muslim women’s rights. Preoccupied with their own imagined oppression, they can be of little help to others–especially family-centered Islamic feminists. The Katha Pollitts and Eve Enslers, the vagina warriors and university gender theorists–these are women who cannot distinguish between free and unfree societies, between the Taliban and the Promise Keepers, between being forced to wear a veil and being socially pressured to be slender and fit. Their moral obtuseness leads many of them to regard helping Muslim women as “colonialist” or as part of a “hegemonic” “civilizing mission.” It disqualifies them as participants in this moral fight.–Christiana Hoff Sommers

There ain’t nothing more dangerous than an enraged hippie… (or deranged hippie?)…

If Vegetarians eat vegetables, look out for humanitarians!!

As I understand it, in the name of peace if I do not agree with you I am justified in murdering you or calling for your murder.

This is the world I am leaving for my 10 year old?

I was listening to Mike Gallagher this am and he had Ms Williams on as a guest. She flatly denied saying this. (Even though the entire conference speakers were speeches were taped and hers was played back to her.) After hearing her very own words, she said that was not what she meant. Unbelievable! She did however, admit to saying that she could kill the president at another venue two years earlier.
Isn’t there a LAW against threatening the president of the United states - peace prize winner not withstanding? Are we not a nation of laws? Who is responsible for enforcing such a law? I guess that the enforcement of our laws are selective and subject to interpretation according to some?

I’m sure W sent all those “insurgents” who are actually Christian Crusaders sent at the behest of their Zionist overlords!

Dang, I just can’t get my head around being a leftnut….

Sura (9:30) - And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!

These hate merchants love coming to Texas to rail against George Bush and get wild cheers from the equally vapid oddballs in the audience. They think it’s cute.

Why don’t we send Ms. Williams as a special envoy to broker the peace with radical Islam (given its well-known regard for, and treatment of, women). The only question is: would they send back her whole body or just her head?

The woman completely lacks coherent thought. She comes from Ireland to lecture us on what’s “constitutional”:

“Ms. Williams told a crowd of about 1,000 that the Bush administration has been treacherous and wrong and acted unconstitutionally.”

    But then:

“When an audience member told Ms. Williams that Vice President Dick Cheney would become president if George Bush were impeached, she said, “Can’t you impeach them both?

Huh? Weren’t you just telling us about what is and isn’t constitutional?

The Nobel Pease Prize ceased to have meaning long ago. When it’s given to people like Jimmah how much can it really be worth?

  8. The Dude on July 12th, 2007 at 12:44 pm

That probably should have read “Nobel Appeasement Prize”.

Maybe we can sub substitute “Anger Management” for “Peace Conference” then its got some promise

I was curious are there any Peace leaders from Arabia that have advocated the “Non” destruction of Isreal besides Hamad Al Thani?

I certainly do not agree with this type of speech, no matter who the subject of the attack is, but with the decisions he has been making lately GW certainly is making it harder and harder for anyone to defend him.

It seems as if someone else has taken over his body and mind.

G.W.B. has not been the same sense he lost the battle over socal security reform ! I really think that took something out of him . It’s as if he could not get agreement on something so obviously broken he just gave up on domestic issues .

Why are these people not arrested for making threats?

  13. TalkinTexas.com on July 12th, 2007 at 2:08 pm

He certainly is not the person I voted for and is suffering badly from his own self inflected wounds.

But what really irks me regarding border security is our state ” leaders ” are getting a pass regarding their failure in protecting us. Everyone blames the Federal gov. for this failure. If criminals were constantly breaking into your house and the police failed to protect your family do to their lack of interest would you accept that or would you take the responsibility yourself to protect your family?

We are the family and our state ” leaders ” are failing to protect us. Remember they illegally enter Texas the same time they illegally enter the United States. It is time to demand action from our Governor.

This “lady” was caught in a lie. All liberals, all of them are the enemies domestic. They are absolutely insane. After reading this article, anyone that votes democratic must have a mental health exam.

  15. american woman on July 12th, 2007 at 3:26 pm

Many people make threats to kill the president. I think someone wrote a book on it, and a movie was made. It’s hate speech that no one does anything about. These groups who call themselves peace lovers are peaceful as long as things go their way and everyone marches in lock step with them. They would stifle any free thought. This lady wackjob is an embarrassment.

  16. gadboy on July 12th, 2007 at 4:04 pm

texan1953-I have a question? Do you really believe all liberals are the enemy?

  17. HomerJ on July 12th, 2007 at 7:32 pm

Nobel Peace Prize winner / murder fantasies. Check.

My first thought was, “self-parody.” Those poor SNL writers are going to be out of business.

My guess is that if she and her friends think about it hard enough they could rationalize that it would be a 248th trimester abortion and that it would be protected by the Constitution.

How ironic and hypocritical that these individuals get to vent at a “PEACE” conference.
