And don’t forget Alex Jones and Prisonplanet. Why they even have an honorable member of Congress saying there is a governmental coverup? The wackjobs abound.

CALLER: I want a complete, impartial, and totally independent investigation of the events of September 11, 2001 . I’m tired of this bogus garbage about terrorism. Ask Michael Meacher about how he feels about this bogus war on terrorism. Can you comment on that please?

HON. DR. RON PAUL: Well, that would be nice to have. Unfortunately, we don’t have that in place. It will be a little bit better now with the Democrats now in charge of oversight. But you know, for top level policy there’s not a whole lot of difference between the two policies so a real investigation isn’t going to happen. But I think we have to keep pushing for it. And like you and others, we see the investigations that have been done so far as more or less cover-up and no real explanation of what went on.

JACK BLOOD, GUEST HOST: I think it’s fair to say that of all the candidates out there, the one most interested in reopening the investigation and clearing the questions is Dr. Paul; and you should be commended for that.

Is that THE Ron Paul that said that? Yeppers… In fact you can listen to the quote above, unedited and unmucked with by those demons at Foxnews.

Ron Paul is a wackjob truther.

Dang! I thought the whole thing was concocted by the eeeeevil Republicans and that aliens created a mass hallucination with their ray technology. Tinfoil hat wearers, of course, were not affected and so were able to see the whole thing.

  3. DennisOnTheRight on August 1st, 2007 at 11:34 pm

The heckler at Hobby for Fred Thompson’s visit seems to have been Jessica Wilson, grassroots organizer for the Houston chapter of 911 Truth.

  4. plonker on August 2nd, 2007 at 12:03 am

Maybe we can find the 911 victims on the ‘Lost’ island on TV. I,however, do not ever give 100% credenece to any anti-conspiricy position. It’s human nature to conspire, so I;m sure that there are some out there; et tu brute?

  5. RickG on August 2nd, 2007 at 12:19 am

    4.

Well, plonker, on that point you’re right - 911 WAS a conspiracy. A conspiracy of a number of Middle Eastern haters of America.

While it is patently absurd to me to think of 9/11 as anything other than the avowed work demented and depraved Muslim terrorists, I do agree with every word Ron Paul said on this one.

The 9/11 commitee was nothing more than an orchestrated snow job, to cover the people who we’re truly culpable due to dereliction of duty and treason, namely, Bill Puketon and the rest of the Clinton regime. To me, 9/11 IS Bill Clinton’s legacy.

What else do you think Sandy Berger was doing with those papers ‘inadvertantly’ in his pants????

But, as someone who is from and was born in Dallas Texas, and who has a living family member who was in Dealey Plaza on Nov 22, 1963, I can tell you it didn’t happen the way the Warren Report said. My mother, who was there, will tell you to this day there we’re 4 shots fired, and we come from a family that knows what a gun report is and sounds like.

And if you think about the implications, one man, who was not a good marksman, could not possibly squeeze off 4 aimed shots with a POS Italian bolt action rifle in 12 seconds, from almost a football field length away.

And anyone who knows anything about ballistics knows when someone’s head explodes from the back, that is a exit wound: and that the kill shot came from the front.

Faster, sarge, and all the rest of you gun-nuts in here, wouldn’t you guys agree?

You can all can make derisive comments and talk about ‘tin-foil hats’ all you want, but the fact is our excuse of a government has been lying to the American people for 45 years now about the facts of that case.

Because of our governemnt’s demonstrated record of lying and corruption, the result is that no one believes them about anything anymore. And what we have is a true crises of credilibilty, and we are
all suffering the consequences, whether you are able to recognize it or not. The ‘old boy crying wolf’ scenario, I’m afraid.

Sorry for the long post, but had to have my say here.

  7. sargevining on August 2nd, 2007 at 7:46 am

Anybody notice how the Left use Conspiracy Theories?

Yesterday, they gave the “Pat Tillman was killed by the government” loons credibility when they dragged the former Defense Secratary up to capital hill to testify about it.

There’a also a conspiracy theory being given credibility about Bush firing those prosecutors.

And the one that they give credibility to that says “Bush lied usninto war.”

And the one that says he and Dick Cheney conspired to “out” Valerie Plame to punish her husband for exposing “the real reasons we went to war.”

Does the left and the Deomcrat Party have anything to sell us other than conspiracy theories?

I don’t want to turn this into a JFK thread, but I couldn’t disagree more. Bugliosi and Posner, addressed, and disposed of, all the conspiracy theories - some of which included outright fabrications. (False statements about in the conspiracy community; one CT makes a bogus claim, and others will cite him as authority. Very poor scholarship. The allegation of changed parade route - long proven false - continues to be believed as truth by avid conspiracists.) Both the Warren Commission and the House Committee on Assasiantions agreed that the kill shot came from the rear, and both agreed with the “single bullet theory.”

The House Committee, which was prepared to affirm the WC findings, at the 11th hour changed its mind based on some highly suspect acoustical evidence, and concluded there was a fourth shot from the front - but it missed. That fourth shot evidence was later discredited, including by a distinguished panel of scientists.

Dealy Plaza is a perfect echo chamber. Some witnesses heard 6 shots or more. That doesn’t mean there were six shots.

The JFK assassination will surely be part of our national mythology, but not because there was a conspiracy. Forty five years and no one has been able to prove it. That’s strong evidence right there.

Doesn’t it encourage you to hear shows like this on Air America? I mean, if you ever had the slightest doubt that you were on the wrong side of the political spectrum, wouldn’t listening to this mainstream liberal outlet make you 100% sure?

  10. little mike on August 2nd, 2007 at 8:40 am

    There are no conspiracies.

No group of people have ever conspired for any reason.

  11. bigjolly on August 2nd, 2007 at 8:44 am

    RickG, was Ron Paul there?

  12. squawkbox on August 2nd, 2007 at 8:46 am

    PBFloyd
Don’t make pull out the links where Ron Paul and his RPAcolytes have basically accused the United States of committing the act.

Thanks PB you have given me a reason to revisit Ron Paul and his RP Acolytes in a blog post.

    Elvis is in the House!!!!!

He was the bushy headed stranger - oh, wait, that was Sam Shepherd.

No, he was the Babushka Lady - wait, that was a different nutcase.

    No, guess he wasn’t there.

Squawk: Like I said, you can jeer if you want, and while there are other things I disagree with Paul on, but as I said, I agree with everything Ron Paul said posted here:

” Well, that would be nice to have. Unfortunately, we don’t have that in place. It will be a little bit better now with the Democrats now in charge of oversight. But you know, for top level policy there’s not a whole lot of difference between the two policies so a real investigation isn’t going to happen. But I think we have to keep pushing for it. And like you and others, we see the investigations that have been done so far as more or less cover-up and no real explanation of what went on.”

But since I would be willing to bet dollars against donut holes that no one else has a member of their family who was a eye-witness that day in Dallas, I would say that anyone else’s comments are mere conjecture, about the Kennedy assasination. But I have studies it for years, and I’m telling you the Warren report is a crock of hooey. The facts don’t bear out; too many inconsistencies.

Now, I was not trying to change the direction of the thread, but I’ve had my say, and if you disagree, then we agree to disagree.

But if you actually are foolish enough to believe everything this governemnt tells you, then I say that you are the one should be wearing the tin-foil-hat.

    PBFLOYD

I love folks like you that give me the old “agree to disagree” line then basically tell me I need a tin foil hat.

And on that note, if I believed everything the government says Why would I need a tin foil hat?

Ya know what though? Sometimes when the gov says the sky is blue and I can look out my lonely writers garret window and see a blue sky, well gee PB I just have to believe the gov now don’t I?

Stick with the decaf: I have no idea what you are blabbering about.

I have no desire to waste my time trying to have a discussion with people who’s beliefs are so tightly tied to their self esteem that they seem to feel threatened and get so defensive if someone disagrees.

Are you sure you’re not EPJ in GOP drag??

Of course, you’re right, you’re always right!!

Feel better now? Have a great day now!

    C Ya!

  19. squawkbox on August 2nd, 2007 at 2:07 pm

    whoa PB wazzup wid dat?

I thought we were discussing RP and his stance on 911. Sheesh, BTW you are the one that suggested I needed a tin foil hat for believing the governments account of 911. I responded.

But in the spirit of your reply

I have not felt better in my life. I attribute it to wrong living strong caffeinated coffee and Cuban Cigars, not some joy in feeling I am right.

However I did wake up this morning and thought to myself, “How can I upset PBfloyd today?” I see that I have accomplished my evil plan. I love it when a plan comes together.

    Have a nice day yerself.

  20. PBFloyd on August 2nd, 2007 at 2:46 pm

Except I’m not upset either, and having a superb day! So we’re both happy! :-D

    That’s niiccceeee! I love a happy ending!

    Peace, out!

Are you sure you’re not EPJ in GOP drag??

Boy, have you got the wrong Squawkbox!

  22. PBFloyd on August 2nd, 2007 at 10:59 pm

I know your right Rick, not sure how all that got sideways? WTF??

I guess it really comes down to what one considers a conspiracy to be? Do I think that 20 or so depraved muslim fanatics plotted together to commit mass murder, yes, I do. They claim it, all evidence supports it, in my mind they are %100 responsible, not the US government. But it’s not called a conspiracy.

Do I think that factions within our own government conspired to remove an elected President in 1963? The personal research I’ve done leads me to believe it did and was in fact a conspiracy, by definition, that at least two gunmen had to have been employed, and deployed to support the physical evidence.

But I don’t see the government out ot get us at every turn, likw Sarge says.If in this instance Ron Paul said, in effect, we need a return to responsible government with accountability for it’s conduct to it’s constituents, I think we can all safely agree to that.

And from what I’ve seen, even though our government didn’t perpetrate 9/11 itself, the 9/11 comission was a white wash, just a bunch of mealy mouth crook lawyers covering there sorry a$$es.

But the EPJ crack was over the top! OK, calling truce to smackdown now!

    Peace/out!

While Air America certainly is the left, Fetzer holds a minority perspective within the 911truth movement.Conservatives should check out the words of Paul Craig Roberts, former Asst Secretary of the Treasury under Reagan starting at patriots question911.com. There are over 100 former intelligence, military, and government officials who advise patriots to reexamine the case.

Incidently, the major left journals are very hostile to 911truth, including The Nation, Counterpunch, Mother Jones, The Progressive, and Z Magazine.

The ultimate work that needs to be disproven by any sincere person who wants to defend the official story is David Ray Griffin’s “Debunking 911 Debunking”

Our country is in serious danger because it is so rare to find any civil discussion between those who disagree on this issue. This cowardice of the highest order.

Our country is in serious danger because it is so rare to find any civil discussion between those who disagree on this issue. This cowardice of the highest order.

I am not going to revisit all “questions” surrounding 911. Only one need be addressed.

The cowardice of the higher order is from those that cannot accept a rational explanation from recognized scientist and engineers as to the dynamics that caused the collapse of the world trade center.

The truthers like to argue that the collapses were controlled demolition… including your source figure Paul Craig Roberts.

New York City is controlled by the unions. Absolutely no major work gets past them without scrutiny. To place the explosives that would have been required to conduct a controlled demolition requires the removal of walls etc. To do that much work would legally require a building permit. There is none. Do you honestly think that the “new materials” on the walls of 110 floors would go unnoticed by the union?

Yeah our country is in danger. It is from the “whackjobs” whose hatred of Bush has caused the to lose any semblance of common sense in the discourse.

Oh BTW it takes only 500 degrees of heat to cause structural weakness/bending in steel. Ask any steel worker, welder or blacksmith. Ask them since the honorable people that are so high and mighty in their critical thinking cannot accept the words of scientist or engineers.
