Keep government out of your personal health care. Today your too fat, tomarrow, they will be in your kitchen taxing you for eating transfats.

Off the target, but Drudge is reporting that now John McSwine has shifted his position on immigration. How’s that for a surprise. Powerline seems to thinks that McSwine can be trusted. Maybe Rastus need to start a big time blog, ’cause even I’m smart enough not to trust John McSwine, whatever he says - he the male version of Hillary - megalomaniac and out to rule the world, talking like Crabby Appleton all the way. sorry about that - just had to vent.

#3 I assume that you are concerned about Mr. Hayseed Graham’s welfare. Well, it’s my understanding that he got hooked up with John Edwards and they went shopping, had their hair and nails done at a fancy salon, and dined on crepes and white wine at The Magic Pan restaurant. I haven’t heard anything since about 5PM today though.

If you read down you will see:

“Dr Meldrum said the pills only worked if people permanently altered their lifestyle but “their effectiveness is under dispute”. Guidelines say children as young as 12 can get drugs and stomach surgery to combat their problem.

Dr Meldrum said: “I am not saying we should not look at how we can medically treat people who are very obese. But to me it is obviously an issue where prevention is better than cure.”"

Dr. Meldrum’s comments illustrate an important feature of the health care systems in place in Western Europe: the emphasis on preventative medicine and lifestyle changes and tried and effective medicines and procedures to improve health rather than popping the next new pill or rushing into the newest (if not best) surgical procedure. This is one of the ways that they are able to provide good health care at half the cost.

It’s good to know Mr Graham still has a friend or to to spend a spa day with.
