Looks like Lowes…. not near enough orange….

It’s Lowes. He’s not mugging for the camera, surely?

    Ooops….

I don’t believe everything Oprah says even though I respect her. Anyway, she is a liberal and caters to the far left.

Al Gore shopping at a home improvement store? I noticed he has a pleasted air filter in the cart…I guess he is trying to save the planet from the dust in his house…which is good (always try to find one good thing about someone/something you don’t like).

  6. Adam on August 7th, 2007 at 12:03 pm

    Sheila Jackson Lee….

  7. Narly on August 7th, 2007 at 12:03 pm

How does anyone take O. seriously? I bet His Holy Greenness has a V10 under the hood of that Lowe’s cart.

He is wearing a long sleeve shirt AND a vest??

Where is the freakin global warming??

  9. Adee on August 7th, 2007 at 12:20 pm

I thought the servants did his shopping….

  10. Fasternu 426 on August 7th, 2007 at 12:21 pm

    “the servants”

He has minions, not servants…. You can do that when you are all powerful!

  11. The Dude on August 7th, 2007 at 12:22 pm

And don’t forget - YOU are part of the problem. Oprah said so.

I feel so awful for not being carbon neutral. Winding the hemi out to ~5k RPM getting on 249S usually helps me get over it though.

Just get a “Free Tibet” sticker, put it on the back window. You’ll feel better and not really have to do anything and can still drive it like you stole it.

Free Tibet? I’m there bro. I would have even paid a modest sum for Tibet, but free? Fuhgeddaboudit.

  16. Levander Williams on August 7th, 2007 at 12:48 pm

That’s it – I can’t take this crap any longer.

As someone who has followed this issue in a professional capacity for nearly 15 years, I am compelled to weigh in. I have read (and actually own) both Earth in the Balance and An Inconvenient Truth, and I have read numerous scientific studies regarding climate change and the relative influences imparted by both mankind and natural factors.

After careful consideration, I have come to understanding that Albert Gore is one of two things: 1) a well-meaning and earnest, but scientifically (and critically) inept man who has been duped into believing the charade of manmade climate change; or 2) a complete fraud who knowingly and blatantly distorts scientific findings to support a preconceived (and scientifically unsupportable) conclusion for the purpose of achieving radical social change.

If you’d like to read evidence on this, take a look at “The Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming and Environmentalism” by Christopher Horner of the Competitive Enterprise Institute. You’ll have to read past some of the snarky commentary (which becomes a bit tiresome), but if a rhetorical vivisection of AIT and the contrivances used to support the premise of manmade climate change is what you seek, ye shall find it here - replete with copious documentation.

    That is all.

  17. The Dude on August 7th, 2007 at 1:00 pm

I can’t take this crap any longer.

That’s just it Levander, none of us should. I personally use the man-made global warming farce as a voter’s litmus test of sorts (like some people use abortion). To me, if a politician buys into the idea that man is responsible for climate change (without sound data I might add) then it’s a very short leap to believe that they’ll make irresponsible financial decisions based on that. The last thing we need is more financially irresponsible decision makers.

  18. trl3 on August 7th, 2007 at 1:00 pm

If gore was serious he would cut back on his personal use of all these carbon emiting devices. In that just 1 of his several houses uses 20 times as much electricity as the average American demostrates that he truely does not care about the environment. Add to that his private jet travel arrangements, his extra houses, his cars…

    Carbon neutral my butt.

  19. Hamous on August 7th, 2007 at 1:03 pm

Levander, I vote for the #2 scenario.

  20. Levander Williams on August 7th, 2007 at 1:14 pm

18 - this was the biggest problem that I had with EITB. It was one of the most self-indulgent, elitist flights of rhetorical fancy that I’ve ever had the misfortune to have read. The overwhelming tone of the entire book (which took me nearly a month to slog through) was strongly oriented toward forcing the humanity to change its ways.

Of course, the unspoken disclaimer is that Albert doesn’t consider himself part of the problem, and being of wealth he is able to buy his way out of “poor choices” with carbon credits. It struck me as disgustingly “Animal Farm” and sounded a lot like the medieval practice of buying indulgences for sins.

I suppose the real sin, in Albert’s world, is being poor. After all, the poor are the least able to make “the right choices” to “save the world” (because the right choices are so expensive) and they don’t have the spare cash available to buy credits to offset their energy consumption.

  21. RickG on August 7th, 2007 at 1:27 pm

    20

Perhaps the poor should be herded into camps where Commandant Gore can dictate thei daily activities, consistent withwhat he know to be the truth.

  22. Peter on August 7th, 2007 at 1:30 pm

    PLEASE HELP!!!

Here is my issue. I feel extremely guilty about my carbon footprint, and I feel it’s my duty to contribute to a solution. I came up with an idea for how I can be more “green”, but I need assistance with the exectution.

I have a Gulfstream IV that I enjoy using to travel to the East and West coasts for attending parties and such. The issue is that I can only find “green” bulbs for the cabin lighting for Gulfstream V’s. Apparently they only have incandecent lights for the G IV’s. (The light housing is too small to accomodate the bulbs that the G V’s use).

I can only find two possible solutions. I can either fly to Hong Kong and meet with a guy who can design some special energy-efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs that will fit the housings in my G IV, or I can simply upgrade to the G V, which would actually be better since it can make it to Hawaii without a refueling stop in San Diego.

Which option should I take to help save our environment?

  23. squawkbox on August 7th, 2007 at 1:46 pm

    Hey Levander

I know 60 Scientists that say Al Gore is full of crap.

  24. squawkbox on August 7th, 2007 at 1:48 pm

That’s good enough for me to say Al Gore is full of crap as is this Global Warming Crisis mongering.

  25. Levander Williams on August 7th, 2007 at 2:03 pm

23 - thankfully, they are in good company, though you wouldn’t know it with all of the preening by the media.

You know, with the science being settled and all.

  26. AZ on August 7th, 2007 at 2:25 pm

Al Gore has just announced they have data which proves it is warmer during the day light hours then at night. They do not know what is causing this day light warming trend but will be raising more money to study it.

Right now he is playing The Beatles album A Hard Days Night backwards at 1/2 speed to listen to the hidden voices.

  27. malcolm on August 7th, 2007 at 2:34 pm

I ran and got my copy of the album and sarted spinning it backwards. You can hear Hillary telling Bill what a doofus Albore is and when she gets into the oval office Bill can have some…… silverware of his own.

  28. AZ on August 7th, 2007 at 2:40 pm

Al Gore just announced there is no 2nd. shooter on the grassy knoll.

    And Elvis is alive.

  29. american woman on August 7th, 2007 at 2:55 pm

Another possibility is Gore has father issues and needs to be adored. I understand his father was a hard a** and had little time for son. Now he can feel benevolent and adored….. barf. He is a total fraud. His wonderful live earth concerts fell flat because the world can see through him. I gave up on Oprah a long time ago. She runs on feelings. I am glad she does good works, and admire her for that, but anything important….. don’t believe a word she says.

  30. T-Hawkk on August 7th, 2007 at 3:04 pm

The poor cannot afford to buy carbon offsets. That’s okay, all they have to do is vote democrat and that will alow them to be carbon nuetral.

    See how it works?

    al-gore is a criminal liar.

  31. Robert M on August 7th, 2007 at 3:17 pm

This picture of Algore needs some captions and I’m the man to write them. So here is my “Top Ten” list of captions for this picture:

    1) Tipper, which aisle do you suppose they keep the ice cream on??

    2) Me being “wooden” and all, I feel right at home here.

    3) Tipper, don’t forget we have to put these props back after the photo op!!

    4) I wonder if I can get a “five finger discount” on these batteries???

    5) Let’s see, where else can I look “politically correct”??

    6) Now, I need some locks to keep Algore, Jr. from sneaking out of the house again.

    7) Next time, I getting one of those motorized shopping carts!!

    8) Tipper, do you think they will give me all this stuff for free since I’m the “Algore”.

    9) Now, if this place wouldn’t waste energy by over cooling, I wouldn’t have to wear this jacket.

    10) Tipper, let’s hurry, I can’t keep Oprah waiting. I need her support when I run for President.

    I hope everyone enjoys these!!!

  32. Fasternu 426 on August 7th, 2007 at 3:20 pm

I want to leave a giant carbon butt print. So I’ll sit here and enjoy my trans fats.

Too bad I don’t have a cigar handy.

They might make great Christmas bonuses!

  34. american woman on August 7th, 2007 at 3:34 pm

#31 Robert indeed I enjoyed them …… how about ” Tipper, how much longer will this shoot take……it smells in here and these people are riffraff.”

Yeah, I want to be there when you hand out carbon credits for bonuses at the company Christmas party to a bunch of grizzled old drivers. That would be fun to watch.

I’ll sell you one. Hell, I’ll give you the wholesale price of $200.00 each just because you’re such a nice guy. Let me know how many you want and I’ll have my lovely assistant work up a quote. Buy a hundred and get a free recycled mouse pad. Ok, it’s not really a mouse pad, but the top ripped off a cardboard box my kid was drawing on. But, hey, its not in a landfill.

I, too, have a copy of “Earth In The Balance”. I tried to get through it and could not. That experience inspired me to coin the following phrase when I was asked what was the difference between a conservative and a liberal:

” A conservative takes life very seriously and yet tries not to take himself too seriously. A liberal takes himself very seriously and yet does not take life seriously at all. “

  38. Fasternu 426 on August 7th, 2007 at 3:43 pm

Here’s the real deal. I have no idea what the heck you are really buying but here they are:

Hey I’m not cheap, I would have each carbon credit framed with real old redwood. Makes a nice touch.

OH, OH, one of those flatbeds heading north on 45 hauling one of those big windmill pieces just blew two rear tires in The Woodlands

  42. Peter on August 7th, 2007 at 4:44 pm

I get it. You’re all a bunch of Gulfstream V owners who are too stuck up to give advice to a Gulfstream IV owner.

  43. TXAggie87 on August 7th, 2007 at 4:47 pm

Faster - I wonder if they have any job openings for shredder-operators? Do they give a discount for long-term packages - like driving the tree shredder for multiple days? I’ve got to email them and find out.

I’m gonna buy more dairy products and beef too. More cattle equals more methane (bovine burps and farts) and Chairman Al (Sorta like Chairman Mao) says that is a bad thing.

  44. TXAggie87 on August 7th, 2007 at 5:07 pm

Peter - it’s like this . . . since Al will convince all the elitist hollywood wacko’s like Travolta and Cruise that they should pay some type of sin-tax like a Carbon Credit - there are bound to be a number of G-V’s turn up for dirt-cheap prices. So why not buy a G-V to go with the IV - having a matching set! Then you could make a decision every day: “Self - do I want to be green or not-green today?” After pondering upon this and other questions of great importance - you can then fly the aircraft of your choice. The only downfall to this plan is that you’ll need 2 pilots - you’ll want the other aircraft to follow the one you’re in just in case you change your mind somewhere along the way.

  45. Fasternu 426 on August 7th, 2007 at 5:13 pm

Sorry Peter, I only have an Embraer Lineage 1000 and have only flown on Gulfstreams when I HAD to….

I have a carbon footprint. It’s not as large as I’d like it to be.

Because when I plant my carbon footprint on Gore’s a$$, I want to leave an impression.

  47. T-Hawkk on August 7th, 2007 at 5:50 pm

al-gore is the most despicable person in America right now. He is a chronic liar and a fraud!

    He is evil incarnate…

  48. Elizabeth on August 7th, 2007 at 5:56 pm

Well, he get’s this much credit… He certainly holds your attention hostage long enough to put forth some effort to find news ways to insult him and amuse yourselves… :)

  49. T-Hawkk on August 7th, 2007 at 6:07 pm

I admit - I do get a great deal of enjoyment from bashing him on forums all over the internet.

I got banished from the MSN Live Earth forum for calling him a liar… :)

  50. Robert M on August 7th, 2007 at 6:07 pm

I think the Algore/Oprah picture needs some captions to better explain what they are doing/saying. So here is my “Top Ten” list of captions for that picture:

    1) Oprah, those boots are made for walking so hit the road and get me some votes!!!

    2) Oprah, aren’t you people used to shining shoes?

    3) Were going to really need some boots if we around any HELLary speech!!!

    4) Algore, can we really defeat this nation’s first Black First Lady??

    5) Oprah, HELLary tried to “Vince Foster” me so she could become Vice President.

    6) Oprah, HELLary hasn’t seen “mudslinging” until I get into the race!!

    7) Oprah, you don’t need Barack as your running mate when you have me.

    8) Folks, no “vinyl” was killed to make these shoes!!

    9) Oprah, you need to tell Barack to pin those big ears back.

    10) Now, we’re ready to kick HELLary’s big butt with these new shoes.

I hope everyone enjoys these captions.

  52. TexasDrifter on August 7th, 2007 at 8:03 pm

Maybe Gore should read this about Texas:

July was the third-wettest since 1895, and the wettest since 1903. The month was also the coolest since 1976 and the fourth coolest in 113 years.

The article the quote is from:

    52.

But it doesn’t matter to the charlatans. ANY deviation in weather, hot or cold, wet or dry, has to do with global warming. Two years ago, the high number of hurricanes was due to global warming (well, that or George Bush’s weather machine, or both); if we don’t have anything this year, that also will be due to global warming (inconsistent weather patterns, you know).

Hell, if these nuts can suggest that the Minneapolis bridge collapse was due to global warning (as has already been suggested), they are shameless and will say anything.
