Some interesting research comes our way thanks to the fine folks at Professors R-Squared:
Well… they found that, when compared to normal conditions, rain significantly reduces voter participation — by a rate of roughly 1% per inch. They also found that an inch of snowfall decreases turnout by roughly 0.5%. Poor weather is shown to benefit the Republican Party’s vote share and may have contributed to two Electoral College outcomes, the 1960 and 2000 presidential elections.
The good professors’ conclusion is:
Pray for lots of rain and snow next November!
I would take a different tack. Aesop said, “the gods help those who help themselves.”
In that spirit, I think it’s time to fire up Old Reliable.

I think the candidate determines the turnout and if the Dimwits nominate HELLary that will bring out a bigger turnout on the Republican side as the conservatives will come out in force. Unless the numbers have changed, HELLary’s electable numbers are not that good. And I have always said, there is way too much printed and recorded material on her to really hide her position as a ultra left wing liberal with socialistic tendancies. She can try her husband’s “get to the middle” approach but remember there was not a lot really known about Bill at the time of his election. That’s not true with HELLary and thank goodness for that!!!!!
That still gives him over a year to hammer New Orleans again.
Hope you are right Robert, but when republicans get mad at their own party, they stay home. It’s a long time till we vote….. let’s see if the party steps up to the voters.
Shrinkage…. hee heee!

Karl Rove wants to know how earthquakes figure in to the turnout mix.
