America’s worst mayor is at it again, opening his mouth and inserting his foot. This time, he says that, while crime is not good, it does help to keep New Orleans in the minds of people.

Mayor Ray Nagin said he worries that slayings in the city make it seem dangerous, but news of such crimes “keeps the New Orleans brand out there.”

And what a brand it is. Miscreants, welfare cheats, prostitutes roaming the streets, gangs controlling parts of the near-destroyed city, drunks falling down and sleeping in their own urine and vomit on the sidewalks, rampant murder. And lest we forget, Katriniacs raising the crime rates in cities across America.

That’s quite a brand you have going there Mr. Nagin. And what was that platform you ran on to get re-elected as Mayor of the cesspool?

After he was re-elected to a second four-year term in 2006, Nagin made safety a top priority.
