Let’s hope that Mike will get Nifonged!

Maybe he could start a trend by purging and reducing the overabundance of attorneys out there. Gotta evacuate - there may be some rain on the way and the press is working overtime, been waiting all summer, and now they are wetting their pants to try to scare me to death.

I wonder what would have happened if he was able to seal part of the evidence for the defense, failed to disclose even more evidence for the defense, and was able to hand pick a jury in Durham, North Carolina. Could he have gotten a conviction and if he did how long would it have taken to right this wrong?

It took a year plus to get through this even when the evidence was overwhelmingly in favor of the defense.

Meanwhile, 3 young men had their lives placed on hold, 2 were removed from school, one had his graduation tainted and an excellent job offer was withdrawn. The entire team had to forfit what may have been a championship season and the coach lost his job.

So, the 3 boys were punished, the team was punished, and the coach was punished. Now the prosecutor will be punished.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ACCUSSOR WHO STARTED ALL THIS WITH HER LIES?

And where are the apologies from all those leftist professors who condemned the defendants from the beginning. Stone silence, as far as I’m aware.

  5. trl3 on August 15th, 2007 at 4:52 pm

As I understand it many of the professors did not want the 2 readmitted to class even after it became clear that there no evidence to support a conclusion.

You’re forgetting the First Law of Liberalism: A Leftist is never wrong.

Why? It’s “good intentions” that matter, not results. So they “nobly stood up for the oppressed black female against the evil, priveleged white males,” instead of what they really did, which was help lead a virtual lynching of some boys guilty of nothing more than poor judgment and crude pastimes.

Funny how those “good intentions” never seem to apply to Republicans…

The black female has been declared incompetent. Mr. Nifong is a good example of the trend in prosecutors who want to destinguish themselves from the group. #3, Trl3 is right…….. this could have ended very badly for three boys who were innocent. It should make us all nervous about our judicial system. I always go to Johnny Sutton….another prosecutor intent on furthering his carear.

I did the dance when I saw this on the Smoking Gun. It’s great to know that, every once in a while, justice really does occur on this earth!

I wonder if it’s time for the JURY to be empowered to ask questions. The counsels on either side tend to paint two polarlized versions of the case; often neither resembling the truth. One wonders if the legal profession is mostly about debate and theatre.

Unfortunately, this type of behavior pervades our courts. Cops and prosecutors routinely hide exculpatory evidence and then pretend like they never knew it existed. If you are accused of a crime that you didn’t commit and you have a lousy lawyer, you’re screwed. Most cops are convinced they are doing a greater good if they have to fudge a little to build a case. Prosecutors are not concerned with justice, they are concerned with convictions. It’s like the public education system as applied to justice, except that grades and diplomas are substituted with cases and convictions. Our legal system is whack.

    Is the dog named Hillary?

The irony in Mr. Nifong’s current circumstances is absolutely delicious. No comparison, of course, with the ruinous year the three wrongly accused suffered or their coach’s sacrificial hanging. If this abomination had ever gone to trial, it fairly screamed for jury nullification.

Wonder how long it will be for the lawsuits against him to make it to court. What a show that would be.

The judicial system is wrought with many injustices to the innocent because of all the bureaucratic conditions our legal system seems to have conjured up. Where is logic and truth? Plain and simple - certainly not in our courts where there are narcisstic lawyers.

Run for your lives. Every man for himself. It’s gonna rain. God help us. Woops, too much local TV again.
