Good speach by Poe. It didn’t look like there were many in the audience though. A shame. I agree completely with him.

I believe the same group controls both major political parties.

A group of bankers and businessmen had been trying to monopolize the banking industry. In 1912 Woodrow Wilson was elected President with the aid of a bribe from them.

They formed the Federal Reserve and are like our personal credit cards are for us except they are the credit card for the government. Well that and they pay no taxes that I know of. Anyway they’re at about at their 100-year anniversary.

They have grown to proportions that I believe they now control many of the politicians of the world. Not only can they buy politicians of both parties here, and control our borders, they can also control much of our spending.

Have you ever wondered why our once great nation has been spending money the way it does. It is sort of like how it would be to have a hundred wives on your credit cards and all of them dating those that own the credit card companies.

They make money when they lend money.

“I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country.
A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit.
Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation,
therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men.
We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely
controlled and dominated governments in the civilized world.
No longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by
conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by
the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men.”

    -Woodrow Wilson

wow - this is really disgusting to read and watch. the very fact someone stands up there and relates how Americans are treated along our own damn border and nothing is idiocracy!

we really do have idiots in Washington DC on both sides of the aisle.

When you except the fact that we have traitors, not idiots on both sides of the aisle and a traitor in the White House it all makes sense.

  10. KRAUT on September 17th, 2007 at 11:23 am

Some people here say that the open borders concept presents a huge economical opportunity.
For WHOM ? I ask, a huge opportunity for the drug smugglers?for the terrorists? for the politicians?for the people who make huge profits by employing the Illegals? for the people who break into our country and steal our tax dollars,(health care, education, welfare)? people who cause our insurance to sky rocket? I believe the price which comes with open borders is something we can not afford.

Sorry! I meant to say economic opportunity.

Look there’s more than enough illegals here, just drive by any Home Depot. Look, we have to get control of the numbers and the longer we wait, the worse it gets. But you cannot do anything until you close the borders!!!! Start there, then go to “guest worker” program and control the numbers plus getting a count on them.

  13. Robert M on September 17th, 2007 at 2:55 pm

Just think how much money would be available for our own LEGAL CITIZENS, if you the taxpayer didn’t have to provide medical assistance, schooling and welfare services to all those ILLEGAL ALIENS. And how about not needing all that police protection money that could be used for security. WEIGH THE DOLLARS AND THE OPTIONS–CHEAPER LABOR AGAINST MORE TAX DOLLARS!!!!

I’m afraid it will take a bloody revelution to get the citizens rights back. Politicians are easily bought and sold. We need term limits.

I read something like this and my blood boils.

Talked to Hutchison’s office today and I was told she hasn’t made up her mind on the DREAM Act.

I keep hearing that too. I wish someone who is in favor of illegal immigration (or who thinks it is economically positive) would just post some data on why it is so beneficial to the United States’ economy to allow these people in. Would our entire economy just tank if we were to just shut down the border? Anyone know where such info can be obtained? I’ve seen plenty on what these illegals cost the United States vs. what the contribute, but nothing on what they bring to this country insofar as economic value as a whole. Maybe I’m missing something here.

  16. epwonder713 on October 12th, 2007 at 2:35 pm

Wow, never have I seen such mis information being put out by someone as with this speech and subsequent article. Let me tell you Congressman Poe and others who don’t live on the border. These are only half-truths being spread by someone who thinks he knows the border by spending a few hours here? Half truth: El Paso County sheriffs have no clue about how many students attend public school without documentation, they can’t know. Because school districts are not required to ask for citizenship. Yet, congressman and those of you commenting here, many..many students attending these schools are U.S born citizens that happen to live in Juarez. Is this an immigration issue? NO! It is a local issue, because these parents should be living in El Paso and paying our high property taxes like the rest of us. But, the congressman failed to say, and probably wasn’t told that many U.S citizens also live in New Mexico, right next door and do the same thing. Making this a local issue not immigration, not congressional. Also, another half truth, yes hundreds of kids and families cross the border from Juarez to El Paso every day to attend school, what the sheriffs office also apparently ommitted to the congressman is that many attend PRIVATE schools, which means they may be U.S born or Mexican born and are paying to attend school here, hence the uniforms. Parachute journalism, or fact finding doesn’t belong here or in any place claiming to provide news. Meanwhile to Neocon, for info on benefits to the economy provided by illegal immigrants, besides paying sales taxes, income taxes, go to Pew Research Center for studies they have done. But, let me tell you already the construction industry is up in arms over all these raids going on, because they are losing people to build homes, and buildings because not enough people here legally want to do that type of job. You may say, well pay them better! Are you willing to pay thousands more for your next home, by using union labor? Same can be said about who is going to pick the crops? union labor? You willing to pay $5 for a head of lettuce. Think about before reacting emotionally. Congressmen Poe is right about the drug dealing going on, that does have to be addressed here on the border. To those that claim we’re being invaded, our way of life is being lost, by illegal immigrants, well now you know how the native americans felt.

Sounds like epwonder713 speaks up for a rather small group which are marginal illegals yet, still illegally active.

When I see crap like “the government does not require us to ask for status” as an excuse for turning a cheek the other way, I ask who and why would a school or any other organization use that as an excuse to allow undocumented people to use and enter our country.

The true enemy are already here in the U.S. and they are the ones who have the soft hearts which allow criminals (that would be the aliens) to come into this land and live here (if you call it that) and work (if you call it that) under the table for another U.S. criminal, an American business.

The aliens are doing one thing bad, they are taking the bait put out there by the real criminals, the businesses who hire them for wages (if you call it that) while they suck off the social benefits the other criminals (that would be our legislature) created without the American peoples authorization to do so.

I know no American who would approve of spending federal dollars on aliens who just arrived here illegally to do so called work. What most idots don’t understand is the labor is temporary but the real permanent damage is sending all those earned wages (illegally) south of the boarder. That is like a small leak in your gas tank as that money is out of circulation forever.

  18. gsuburban on December 6th, 2007 at 11:31 am

Also, anyone who believes lettuce will go to $5 if farmers were to pay minimum wages to pick crops are all misunderstanding history.

I’m getting all types of produce which is picked by legal minimum wage workers and it’s not $5, more like 39 cents a head.

The cost of lettuce is not in the picking of it, its in the processing and transportation costs and the marketing of those products to politically unfriendly super chains like Vons, Ralphs, Win Dixie etc.

By the time you extract the cost of picking lettuce, it’s picking cost at minimum wages or even $10 an hour would not increase the price much since all the real heavy duty expenses are before and after it is harvested !
