It seems everyone was taking note of Rush Limbaugh’s record breaking auction for charity on Friday. While the amount raised was noteworthy (a $2.1 million bid which was matched by Limbaugh), he is not the only one to bring together the talk radio community to try and change things for the better or help those in need.
Edd Hendee is once again spearheading a project to help someone in need: Gary Brugman.
Gary was the Border Agent that was sent to prison for 2 years by Johnny Sutton.
Gary is out of jail and is trying to put his life back on track. He has an excellent opportunity to, well, let’s let Edd explain it:
Join me in giving Gary Brugman the “tools” to change his life!
Remember the story of Border Patrol Agent Gary Brugman?
US Attorney Johnny Sutton began his systematic prosecution of BP Agents and Sheriffs Deputies in West Texas with BP Agent Gary Brugman.
Gary spent 8 years in the Coast Guard and 5 years with the Border Patrol - 13 years total serving our nation and protecting us - only to be prosecuted and imprisoned for pushing an illegal alien down with his foot.
No injury, no fight, no damage - Brugman forced the alien to sit down during a roundup arrest in the field and for that he was prosecuted, convicted, and imprisoned for two years.
This past January Gary got out of prison with nothing left - 41 years old, no money, no retirement, and a felony conviction on his record which doesn’t look good on a resume.
Now there is a chance for Gary Brugman to be restored and have a chance to succeed in his life. MATCO Tools is recognized as the “Best Automotive Franchise” by Franchise Business REVIEW (based on 2006 Franchise Satisfaction Survey), and is one of the top franchise opportunities out there.
MATCO heard Gary’s story and stepped forward to offer this chance for him to become a MATCO franchisee. MATCO interviewed Gary, tested him, did background checks, and even flew him at their expense to their Corporate Headquarters to meet the President of the Company.
This last week MATCO offered Gary Brugman a franchise in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas! MATCO Regional supervisors have also found Gary a used MATCO truck and are beginning his orientations and have scheduled him for formal training in late November 2007. MATCO is processing his franchise now and is coming alongside Gary in a big way to help him start his franchise.
Now we have to raise Gary’s capitol contribution for him.
We can make this happen for Gary by raising $40,000 right now. That’s just 400 people at $100 each! Any amount is welcome but this can happen so fast if you will join me today in making a $100 donation to start Gary’s business.
Because we are raising money for other Eyes On The Border projects via PayPal, I’m going to simplify things by asking that all donations to the “Gary Brugman Project” be made via check in the name of Gary’s new business, as follows:
Wrench Boxes LLC
c/o Edd Hendee
10505 Katy Freeway
Houston, TX 77024I have opened a bank account for his capitol contribution at my bank - and that account will have double signature control (mine and his) on this account.
Your contribution will buy his used truck, down payment for his opening tool inventory, and give him the funds he needs to get his business up and running this month.
I am personally overseeing this account and helping him with his start up for the first year so he can have a business mentor and so you can be assured that this deal succeeds for Gary and for you.
MATCO will begin formal training for Gary as soon as these funds are on deposit - that’s why we have to have the capitol raised quickly to get Gary started.
Please join me in supporting Gary Brugman. This can be a great ending Gary’s story - you and I are the real “America” who can restore what the government destroyed in its current open border policy.
Thanks for your support - together we can make this happen.
Gary Brugman gives you his entire story here. I highly encourage you to read the whole thing.
In short, Gary needs our help to get his life back together. If you are able to help in any way, please send a check to the address above. Any amount is highly appreciated!
Our government may have let him down but we can do something to help him get his life back on track. Let’s not let him down…

An admirable effort to be sure!
Hopefully we’ll remain posted as to the ultimate outcome……
From Saturday in Rocksprings, the following video is of both Gary Brugman and Edd Hendee.

It was an amazing day welcoming home former Deputy Sheriff Gilmer Hernandez … we also had Ted Poe and Ciro Rodriguez, and plenty of others!
Well, I guess we don’t need to stop with the one video, as I have now posted the other 8 into the playlist that you can find here:
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=799A887F62606007
Other speakers on Saturday, besides Gilmer himself, include Congressman Ted Poe and Congressman Ciro Rodriguez, the Mayor of Rocksprings, the local pastor, the Rocksprings Sheriff, Curtis Collier of US Border Watch, former US Border Patrol agent Gary Brugman, radiot host Edd Hendee, the Vice President of the US Border Patrol Union, and others…
.
As Gary’s former brother-in-law I can attest to Gary’s dedication to the U.S. Border Patrol. It was the one thing he held above anything else. When everything happened we were truly saddened that the government would repay him like that. Gary is a wonderful human being, and our prayers are with him every night. I was happy to find out that this opportunity was available to him.
Gary, God bless you!! I hope this franchise works out well for you.
