Which ever one of them that take office need to understand that the American public want the existing laws on the books enforced. It’s not just political it is the law.

    Go Fred GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. luv2hammer on October 31st, 2007 at 9:54 am

We are being sold a blind horse with Giuliani. See the way the news media is telling us he’s the only one who can beat Mrs. Bill Clinton. If I can see that anyone who can’t has to just not be paying attention.

Fred is the best on this issue. If only he had a pocket Constitution…..

There are no consequences for candidates who lie during the campaigne…candidates are limited only by what they can convince the public they believe and will do.

The public needs to consider other things about the candidate and less weight should be given to what they say…like who’s putting out the money for the candidate…Mitt, Rudy and Fred have raised huge amounts of money…big business, big government…the elites own them.

They’re not getting my vote….I’m voting for Duncan Hunter…a man faithful to the U.S. look at his record.

America is hypocritical when it come to immigration. On one hand some say employers are greedy simply because they hire illegals to keep their cost down. On the other hand , Americans shop for the lowest price they can find in order to save themselves money. You cannot have your cake and eat it, too. If you want to slow down illegal immigration - quit spending money, stop voting for politicians simply because they will increase your SS benefits, bring money back to your district, etc. etc. A great political leader is one that will do nothing for you - yet you will still vote for him.

“A great political leader is one that will do nothing for you - yet you will still vote for him.”

    I agree.

    Hmmm…. who would that be?

That’s exactly why Fred will never get my vote!

    Not true.

Giuliana’s nomination would be a bad thing for the GOP. If we nominate him, we might as well throw the platform out and srart re-writing what it means to be a Republican. They might just have to re-write some of us out of that definition.

  12. RickG on October 31st, 2007 at 10:43 am

    11.

I meant for that to read “what it means to be a Republican Presidential nominee.” I believe there is a place for Rockefeller Republicans, just not at the head of the national ticket.

  13. duhmoose on October 31st, 2007 at 10:45 am

Is it possible that we might actually see a split in the Republican convention, with no candidate getting a majority of the primary votes? I can see this election causing some real gut checks at the national party.

  14. RickG on October 31st, 2007 at 10:49 am

    13. duhmoose

Good question. If it happened, it probably means a loss in the presidential election (based on the history of the fate of the party with contentious conventions - 1964, 1968, 1976) but it may be necessary to save the GOP as we know it.

  15. Phil_M on October 31st, 2007 at 11:07 am

Rudy is still leading in all national polls and is still the only candidate that, according to the polls, can defeat Mrs. Clinton in the general election.

It’s also over a year away from the election, and polls are notoriously prone to change. I strongly suspect that Rudy has peaked already and will find himself amidst an increasingly hostile Republican base after they discover the fact that he hires and takes campaign contributions from child molesters.

  16. duhmoose on October 31st, 2007 at 11:13 am

RickG, I think that if it became a fight between the Conservatives and the big money Republicans it could be very healthy. And if the result was getting a candidate that pushed the traditional party platform it could really rejuvenate the party. However, if the more liberal Republicans won, it could be the death of the party.

  17. Katfish on October 31st, 2007 at 12:13 pm

#’s 8, 9, 10 - voting on items listed as 10 YEARS ago when ‘we the people’ were not NEAR as focused and angry regarding gimmigration as we are NOW?

That alone doesn’t turn me away from Fred………(still got a gut feeling he IS our guy - I don’t see any other Pubbie that can kick Hellary’s butt)

  18. Bannable Lecturer on October 31st, 2007 at 12:18 pm

    Phil

Latest National Polls show Fred (who’s still not campaigning) within a statistical tie with Hillary

  19. texpat on October 31st, 2007 at 12:23 pm

Phil, I think Rudy has all kinds of problems, not the least of which is the defrocked priest. His conflicts of interest with the endless entanglements of Giuliani Partners and Bracewell/Giuliani. The NYC mayoral positions on the 2nd Amendment, immigration and gay rights. The Dems are just salivating, waiting for Rudy to win the nomination. They believe they can destroy him.

  20. Matt Bramanti on October 31st, 2007 at 12:34 pm

America is hypocritical when it come to immigration. On one hand some say employers are greedy simply because they hire illegals to keep their cost down. On the other hand , Americans shop for the lowest price they can find in order to save themselves money.

Americans don’t want the absolute lowest price possible, regardless of laws or ethics. If we did, we’d get rid of meat inspections and bring back slavery.

No, sensible Americans want the lowest prices they can get from vendors who obey the law.

  21. RickG on October 31st, 2007 at 12:56 pm

    16.

Agreed. After all, if we’re going to run a Democrat, why have to parties?

  22. RickG on October 31st, 2007 at 12:57 pm

    21.

For shame, RickG - “two” parties.

  23. duhmoose on October 31st, 2007 at 1:56 pm

RickG, not only that, but America is crying for someone with a plan for positive change and the will to follow through. Democrats are not offering it, and Republicans can’t seem to either.

  24. left-2-right on October 31st, 2007 at 2:24 pm

Fred who?? This isn’t 1980, folks. You have to give a little to gain alot. The media’s not “picking” Rudy, the swing voter will. Wise up.

Rick, You are no doubt correct about saving the republican party, however I would hate to lose the country while doing it.

  26. duhmoose on October 31st, 2007 at 2:27 pm

l2r, I really don’t see any reason for an independent to pick Rudy over Hillary. The only issue that polls well with Independents that I can tell a difference between Rudy and Hillary is the not being a Clinton thing. Oh, except Hillary gets to take the moral high ground against Rudy.

  27. KRAUT on October 31st, 2007 at 2:45 pm

ALL law agencies should have to fight ILLEGAL immigration, National, State and City.
There is no excuse. All the fingerpointing is unneccessary and only an excuse so they don’t do anything.

#20 you just said it best!!

  29. american woman on October 31st, 2007 at 3:19 pm

Rudy is only conservative on the war. socially he is right along with the dems. He’s a great actor, a great debator, and a good liar. Electing Rudy, and that may be the case, will get us 4 more years of surprises, anger and shaking our heads.

  30. left-2-right on October 31st, 2007 at 5:20 pm

AW: Bush turned out to be a disappointment. I can bear 4 years of Rudy better than 8 years of Clinton. Its your choice.

  31. RickG on October 31st, 2007 at 5:28 pm

    25 and 30

Tough choices, indeed. I don’t want to go through a higher taxes, bad judges, increased welfare state period. But I wonder if it’s inevitable, and whether we should face it now. If we don’t, are we in store for many more years of tepid Republican-ism?

  32. NAT PIERCE on October 31st, 2007 at 11:57 pm

Mitchel and Johnny, as of today, have not made have not made up their minds about LOST; I’d say lost pretty well describes them.

  33. pumpkin on November 1st, 2007 at 7:26 am

Only thing I like about Rudy is he did get tough on crime in NYC… with a lot of success.
