Someone is telling the truth about Huckabee! Say it isn’t so!
So the simple big-government-loving box into which many want to stick Huckabee is just not an accurate picture of the man. Do I agree with many of the criticisms in areas where he does want to turn to government? Yes.
Mike Huckabee is not a simple guy. But life is not simple. However, he is honest, he is clear and many, including me, appreciate his unequivocal stand for the traditional values that are critical for the future of this country.
Ahhh the unbiquitous Star Parker nuty case advocate for the militant evangelicals swing wing.
Devastating rebuttal - except for the links to facts, government documents etc
Some background on Star Parker todays “its your turn to defend Huck” shill
Star Parker (b. 1956) is an American author.
Parker, an African American woman, spent her formative years as an unemployed mother receiving welfare; she had a criminal record and has disclosed that she had four abortions.
Parker converted to Christianity and subsequently became a spokeswoman for conservative Christian political issues. She opposes the welfare system, claims that stable families and self-reliance are the best way to end poverty and opposes abortion. In 2007, Parker was a guest at the conservative Value Voters Summit, advocating the forced quarantine of “sodomites
However I am astonished to find out that dozens of FOIA’s are out on Huckabee and he is going to be outed by many nefarious people of lutheran persuasion
Imagine the panic setting in as the MSM is scrambling to not be upstaged by the minutemen and drudge on Huckabee’s questionable business dealing outside the legislatures pervue…..
A conversion to Christianity is just that. The pastis forgiven and the convert is saved. This arguement making everything she says as a Chrisitan a lie, because she had a painful and unlawful past, is not what Christianity is about. If you are familiar with the bible, then you know Paul was a complete Christian hater who had Chrisitans killed…….and look how his conversion affected him. This attack against Huckabee offends me.
No she wrote an article defending the guy but then she advocated the jailing and torture of her fellow citizens at the same summit Huckabee won a straw poll
Unfortunately, if you aren’t a Christian as Mr. Bannable defines a Christian, you aren’t a Christian at all.
If you search through the comments, you see that is his underlying theme. And you’ll find one that specifically states that, in his opinion, Mr. Huckabee isn’t a Christian at all.
I’m thinking most folks will see through his smears.
It’s early BigJ and reading a conversion attack just didn’t set well. You and I know there are people who give their lives to prison work, trying to reach the ones who need it most. It seems to me prison is a time where there can be a lot of reflection, and I am convinced true conversion happens. I am not so stupid to believe there aren’t people in prison who work the system, and pretend to be converted when they are not. But, to blanket her conversion as a lie, offends me. If you look at where she has come, from where she has been, I would think it’s clear to see God working in her life.
Are we going down the path where anyone who supports Huckabee is slandered? Her Christian conversion must be false because she supports Huckabee S, It’s your job to dig dirt, and devalue her faith, to win? No. Don’t do this. I haven’t seen her in Montrose killing and castrating.
“If you search through the comments, you see that is his underlying theme. And you’ll find one that specifically states that, in his opinion, Mr. Huckabee isn’t a Christian at all”
This is what happens when one is totally overwhelmed by the facts.
God determines whose a christian - I just help post factual information on candidates.
This has to do with the cold hard facts not Eric’s picking on a preacher.
I’d like to remind you Bannable, that we have experienced the Paulinian comments from the Paulbots. When they become so extreme, it turns people off to their candidate. Tread carefully, you may just be pushing people to give Huckabee a further look.
She just gave a speach advocating violence towards peaceful citizens
she wrote a glowing personal plea for Huckabee
Felons for Huckabee - I’m ordering the bumper stickers now
Now somwone said a very successful powerful evangelical baptist preacher in florida cannot express an opinion on Huckabee in this very thread without any supporting reasons why we might questionb that persons character.
someone here did slander a preacher who used links to facts, court cases, documents, government reports - not a personal testiment.
AW - I think your outrage would best be served at the person who wrote this about a great man:

Chuck Baldwin? Dude, now you’ve really lost it.
Chuck Baldwin? Oh no, Huck’s going to quake in his boots now
Charles O. “Chuck” Baldwin (born May 3, 1952) is an American political figure, activist within the Constitution Party, and pastor of Crossroad Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida. He hosts a weekly radio program and writes a twice-weekly news column also carried on his Internet website.
Baldwin was born in La Porte, Indiana, to Mr. and Mrs. Edwin J. Baldwin. The senior Baldwin, who conducted a successful jail ministry in La Porte, was a native of Arkansas.[1] From 1980-1984, Baldwin served as Pensacola chairman and then state chairman of the Florida Moral Majority, organized by the late Reverend Jerry Falwell of Lynchburg, Virginia
Baldwins a fiscal liberal and a social conservative - he is a controversal figure to me but I repsect his holding all candidates to truthful conduct of their campaigns
London Chimes in Praising Fred but wishing somehow he would dominate the debate
love this money line though:
More’s the pity. It is utterly remarkable to believe that Republicans could possibly want to see yet another national ticket that includes an ethically challenged demagogue from Hope, Arkansas.
Bannable, Please stop. You are not offering anything new to the discussion, you are beginning to sound childish and petulant. If you want to run an anti Huckabee campaign, make your site. Otherwise, maybe you should try to actually discuss what policies Huckabee is offering that you don’t like, and contrast that with the correct views some other candidate is offering. As it stands you sound like a playground whiner complaining that you were picked last at kick ball.
Its an open comment section - sorry if the perponderance of articles are turning against the good reverend. Perhaps if he hadn’t said this during the debate:
Huckabee: Thank you very much.
Ashley, first of all, let me just express that you’re a little misinformed. We never passed a bill that gave special privileges to the children of illegals to go to college.
Now, let me tell you what I did do. I supported the bill that would’ve allowed those children who had been in our schools their entire school life the opportunity to have the same scholarship that their peers had, who had also gone to high school with them and sat in the same classrooms.
They couldn’t just move in in their senior year and go to college. It wasn’t about out of state tuition. It was an academic, meritorious scholarship called the Academic Challenge Scholarship.
Now, let me tell you a couple of provisions of it. And, by the way, it didn’t pass. It passed the House but got in the Senate and got caught up in the same kind of controversy that this country is caught up in.
And here’s what happened. This bill would’ve said that if you came here, not because you made the choice but because your parents did, that we’re not going to punish a child because the parent committed a crime.
That’s not what we typically do in this country.
It said that if you’d sat in our schools from the time you’re five or six-years old and you had become an A-plus student, you’d completed the core curriculum, you were an exceptional student, and you also had to be drug and alcohol-free — and the other provision, you had to be applying for citizenship.
And the Duhmoose this group comes in a day later with the real facts
Actually, the bill Huckabee pushed for in his 2005 State of the Union address did not apply only to “those children who had been in our schools their entire school life.” It required only three years in an Arkansas high school to be eligible. And students did not have to be “applying for citizenship,” but rather they had to sign an affidavit stating their intent to do so in the future. All students who apply for state scholarships must “certify that they are drug-free” and “pledge to refrain from alcohol” if they are under 21, just as Huckabee said. But they certainly don’t have to be “an A-plus student.” The state requires a solid “B” average (a 3.0 average on a 4.0 scale). And the state may reduce that to a 2.5 average if sticking with the higher requirement “would unduly reduce the number of low-income or disadvantaged students who would otherwise be eligible for the program.” That’s a C-plus average
not my doing just defending the American way here.
Guys, I don’t think it is any secret that the media, for whatever reason, is pushing for a Giuliani/Huckabee ticket. We all know that Giuliani had a sanctuary city and that Huckabee did the same for Arkansas.
I know some of the readers here do not believe in any sort of conspiracy, but people this is no accident. This is a concerted effort by a group to open our borders and form a North American Union. Our country is being sold out to the highest bidder.
The number one issue in the United States at this time is Illegal Immigration and Border Security. Not one of the leading candidates has effective addressed their position on this. Now Cornyn is up for re-election. He has been a waffler on this issue. He only does what the constituency wants for fear of not being re-elected. You watch how his attitude changes once he is secure for six years. We have seen the same with KBH. Believe me she has every desire for more governmental power when she completes this term, or even worse resigns to take a cabinet position should the Republicans win. Then the Governor, who thinks Integrity is the name of an insurance company, can appoint a replacement to further the loss of our country, and you know he will. Remember he was a pro secure border before he was re-elected.
Bannable, Yeah, it’s an open comments thread, but you are turning it into Bannable Lecturer’s anti-Huckabee soap box. I don’t have a problem with you not liking Huckabee or wanting to show how he is not a conservative, but maybe, just maybe, for once in your life stop looking at imaginary transcripts and actually discuss the topics you post about here.
Luv2, have you read Buchanan’s new book? I think he covers the topics you are writing about. I ought to get it and read it, but I already have several conservative books I am supposed to be reading to further my intellect and can’t get myself to pick any of them up to read! hehe Plus, I have two history books I am supposed to be reading to further my knowledge. I really want to get a good Janet Evanovich mystery and laugh myself silly.
Wow. It is a sad day when a Christian who sought and accepted salvation and irrevocably changed her life for the better is disgustingly torn down in an obsessive smear campaign. I think we were warned about such tactics. This is a new low.
No I haven’t read it. I’m like you I’m overwhelmed with information and underfunded in time to digest it.
I’m really afraid for our country and feel that nothing less than a bloody revolution will return those rights to us.
I don’t know how good a Mormon Romney is but I do know the LDS Church does believe that the U.S. Constitution is a divine document straight from God. I wonder if he has a Temple Recommend. I use to date a Mormon girl in college and learned a lot about the LDS religion.

34, AW watch what passes for debates between the Presidential candidates if you want some comedy worthy of hysterical laughter.
I am leaning toward Mike Huckabee at this time, but I have no illusion about his perfection or lack thereof. None of the folks running for office from either party are perfect, but then again those type of candidates come along once or twice in a lifetime
I thank BL for pointing out all of Mike Huckabee’s faults, but this morning he has gotten a little tiresome. It is easy to throw mud.
Mr. BL! I have a SIMPLE request. Please pepper us with the positive points of your favored candidate. I will read them with an open mind and seriously consider your thoughts. Keep in mind that most of us are adults and realize that this election is like so many others….We will go into the booth holding our noses, vote, and pray (hope if you prefer) for the most positive outcome possible.
Eric Johnson is like a thirteen year old boy in his bedroom every night writing letter after letter to some supermodel. He thinks she actually reads them.
I’d like to remind you Bannable, that we have experienced the Paulinian comments from the Paulbots. When they become so extreme, it turns people off to their candidate. Tread carefully, you may just be pushing people to give Huckabee a further look.
TOO LATE!
I did.
Based on Mr. Bannable’s long posting history, its tenor and tone, I’ve taken a closer look at both Huckabee and Romney (he’s been harder on HUckabee, but he’s trashed Romney as well).
Both have done well in that investigation—either could get my vote at this point.
I asked myself, “Why does Bannable hate this guy so much that he’d make endless rambling posts about him?” All I can realistically come up with is that Big Jolly supports Huckabee, and Bannable doesn’t like that. Like many comments made here, they are more personally motivated than they are a matter of actual opinion or policy.
Early on, I was hopeful that Fred Thompson would be the one. What Conservatism needs more than anything lese these days is a spokesman as eloquent as Reagan, who can connect with the People. I thought Thompson would be the one.
He’s not.
I imagine that if either Romney or Hucakbee win the Primary, there will be those who blame the Party. But there are several very Conservative Candidates who are running—and it does not look like people will be voting for them. Part of that might be the tenor and tone of thier supporters. A good deal of that will be that they either cannot connect with the people, or that they have and the people found them wanting—as I have Fred Thompson.
If more people vote for the “less than Conservative” candidate, he will win—it really IS that simple. And that will mean that more people disagree with those who want the “perfect Conservative” than who agree with them. It will be the voters who decides who the Canidate is, not the Party.
That’s how it works.
If either Party had a system where THEY picked the candidate without input from the Voters in the Pirmary, I would not support them—and I doubt that most people would.
Why you guys read this stuff much less respond amazes me. Just give the old scroll wheel a whirl. However if you just have to slow down to see the train wreck, I can help.
Quick guide to LST (or elsewhere) blogging:
When you see the said posters name, look to the first paragraph. If it starts with a capital letter and ends with a period, it might be ghost posted and have some substance. If not, move on.
Given that, if you see Hucka… in the body, move on.
More than one link, its a hit piece. Move on.
With a little practice, soon you will be smoking that scroll wheel. You may go through a few mouses (mice?), but peace of mind is a wonderful thing.

I liked Channel 13 and Wayne Dolcefino’s stories on Jerry Eversole. Just because your a Republican doesn’t mean you get a pass. Dishonesty has no place in government but unfortunately it is there and will always be there as long as “free money” (aka taxpayers dollars and contributions) is there to be abused and there are votes to be bought. Politicans always seem to not do the right thing once they are in power, why is that???
I write little in those posts, those actually in most cases, are huckabee’s words or others that are calling him out
I’m just the reporter -
I’ve gone after Romney - he’s committed serious tax and election fraud and flipped sooo many times on abortion you can take your pick what he believes today - ditto that for illegal immigration and higher taxes
but Huckabee got tons and tons of free press - then the glowing almost evangelical articles here on him at LST.
Sorry, but he’s got to go, everyone who is a serious conservative agree Hucks a bigger threat than any Democrat who could ever take the stage.
Its funny that putting pout someone’s budget was a smear thats how it started and from the beginning.
Run, don’t walk, away from bigjolly and his Italian sausage recipe. The ancestral patron of Polidori Sausage is John Polidori. He hung out with Lord Byron, the poet, and Mary Shelley, author of Frankenstein. Polidori wrote a famous novel, The Vampyre, and everyone in the know understands that the secret sausage recipe will turn you into one. It’s too late for bigjolly, but not for you.
Btw, Eric got his disgusting smear on Star Parker from Wikipedia (word for word with no reference). They got their “quarantine of sodomites” quote from Huffington Post and The Nation magazine lefty slime merchant Max Blumenthal.
Texpat #49 thanks for the warning!! I would never make a great demon of the night!
#43 GJT….. don’t laugh at me, but I just used the scroll thingy for the first time. I have been alone too long! Thanks for the tip! ( don’t laugh too hard) I know better, and I still get sucked in when he strikes a nerve.
GJT, my biggest problem is that left unchecked, long posts full of hate and vilification on any topic can become poisonous. I truly believe Eric is intelligent and well meaning, however his tactics are so misguided they tend to work against him.
How was the fog driving for everyone? It’s really bad here. I’m hesitant to head out.
I’m probably going to start a fire storm (oops) but since last everning I have wanted to speak to what I saw yesterday at the grocery store.
We had a lengthy debate about abortion the other day…….I stopped by the grocery store to pick up a few things last night. As I was going down the aisle I saw a little blonde headed girl with her mom. She was a tiny blonde, in a white sweater and navy jumper, and she had downs syndrome. Her mom was an older woman. When I saw these two I smiled, and immediately thought of our debate. A few years ago, this woman would probably have been pressured to abort this lovely child. She didn’t. I know there are hardships and difficulties with children who have disabilities, but this little angel was proof life is what it’s all about.
Max Blumenthal doesn’t just hate Christians. He also hates conservative blacks:
Blumenthal approached the booth for the National Black Republican Association where he hurled a racial insult at Peter Rice, in Blumenthal’s words, “a curiously pale Black Republican.”

More from Arkansas News - Gov. Mike Huckabee Thursday denounced a bill by Sen. Jim Holt that would deny state benefits to illegal immigrants as un-Christian, un-American, irresponsible and anti-life.
Holt, R-Springdale, replied later that Christian charity does not include turning a blind eye to lawbreaking.
I will vote for Hillary before I will vote for Mike “Tyson Foods Plantation” Huckabee or Rudy “Santuary City Mayor” Giuliani.

Here’s why I’m not voting for Huckabee. Not only is he a liar about being strong on the border, he is a hypocrite. He is no Christian, in my opinion: From MB4 at Hotair.com
It all began 16 years ago for Mike and me. Huckabee, in his political debut, was preparing to become the Bible-thumping, abortion-decrying Republican challenger to U.S. Sen. Dale Bumpers, the Democratic incumbent. With a playbook straight out of James Dobson, he tried to portray Bumpers as a pornographer for his support of federal grants to the arts.
More important, Huckabee revealed an enduring weakness as glaring as that other Arkansas governor’s fondness for women. Huckabee seems to love loot and has a dismissive attitude toward ethics, campaign finance rules and propriety in general. Since that first, failed campaign, the ethical questions have multiplied.
In the 1992 contest with Bumpers, Huckabee used campaign funds to pay himself as his own media consultant. Other payments went to the family babysitter.
In his successful 1994 run for lieutenant governor, he set up a nonprofit curtain known as Action America so he could give speeches for money without having to disclose the names of his benefactors. He failed to report that campaign travel payments were for the use of his own personal plane.
After he became governor in 1996, he raked in tens of thousands of dollars in gifts, including gifts from people he later appointed to prestigious state commissions.
now I don’t know Huckabee from a hole in the ground, however if this is the way he acts as he is running for State positions, I shudder to think what he is doing right now as he runs for president.
Plain and simple EVERY CANDIDATE has his warts, from Ron Paul and his lame foreign policy, to Fred and his crew not getting the message out well, to Huckabee and his ethics questions, Rudy and his sanctuary city, Romney and his flip flop on abortion. It comes down to as it was said before, everyone of us needs to examine each of these characters and determine for our selves which one will best serve the country as POTUS.
When you look at our choices, and then study the democrat candidates. Any of our candidates would make a better president than the top tier the dems have. ( maybe excluding our ” he who shall remain nameless running as a republican)
Look at the author of that piece. Mr. Brantley has contributed to Hillary Clinton’s campaign and is a long time supporter of the Clinton’s in Arkansas. I put links to that on the front page of LST.
Brantley could be a child killing nazi biker scumbag
but brantly has court documents, contracts, eyewitnessess and proof and besides others like Phyllis Schafley and FOX NEWS has verified and dug up the same things
Okay enjoy the silent interludes from doha until tomorrow….
I do not care who the author was, or who the author of the praise Huckabee article was. The point I was trying to make and both you and Eric missed it is that anybody who has even the most simple understanding of the Internet can find articles and commentaries that either praise or slam the character of the candidate that they are looking for. On the same Google result page that the article blasting Huckabee was the Star Parker link.
The problem is some people get so wrapped up in either supporting or blasting one candidate that they lose perspective. And the only way that you can make an informed decision besides doing what you are doing in watching each debate and examining each persons voting record, is to search out both positive and negative commentaries and see what they say.
Not only is Max Brantley, the author of that column, not “outside the fray”, he has been in the bare-knuckled street fight of Arkansas politics for many years. A former Arkansas Gazette reporter, Brantley is now editor of the very liberal, pro-abortion newsweekly, The Arkansas Times. He has a long history of going after Huckabee. Here is another Arkansan’s response to Brantley’s piece:
#72 - Bill, I don’t think bigjolly missed it. Huckabee is not even his first choice as a candidate. I think he’s just trying to counter the relentless smear, much of it based on nothing more than opinion.
It is obvious that some people around here missed the point but then it takes a 2×4 across the top of their heads for you to get their attention, because they are like a race horse with blinders on.. They only see what is right in front of them and most times that is their dislike for one person or another….
I believe it is a critical mistake to read opinion pieces, quote them and link to them without first researching the author, the website they utilize and their history. People do that everyday and it drives me nuts. For instance, Brantley has an axe to grind and it has everything to do with evaluating the very serious charges he levels at Huckabee.
It rarely takes a 2 x 4 across my head to get my attention. I merely pointed out that the author of that hit piece is a Clinton supporter. If people choose to believe his narrative, it’s their choice. I think it’s helpful to inform them that his motives might not be pure.
Bill - On a completely different matter, who do you think has the inside track to replace Briles? I’d like to see June Jones but I don’t see that happening. Hmmm, do I want to live in Hawaii or Houston? I know he has no coaching experience but Andre Ware has a coach’s “air” about him. He should get into the field somehow, maybe not with the Cougars but somewhere.
Absolutely no one on LST has worked harder and been more prolific in publishing piece after piece of fair and accurate analysis of all the candidates than bigjolly. I don’t disagree there are folks who deserve a 2X4 across the forehead, but the last one would be bigjolly.
Comments that appear on LST should be assumed to represent only the opinions of the person leaving the comment. “Moderation” of comments on LST occurs “after the fact” and on an ad hoc basis– in other words when and if we get around to it.

Look I went to Google did a search on Mike Huckabee and pulled the first article that was not a link to his website. Any 12 year old could do the same thing. All I am doing and you are proving it again, No I did not check out who the author was, no I did not verify what he was saying, no I did not qualify or verify anything.
All I did is pull an article that blasts a candidate. It does not matter who the candidate is I can teach my 5 year old to do what Eric is doing, what the Ron Paul acolytes do, even what the die hard Clintonistas do.
Read what I say after the quote and the link. It is not my job, Eric’s job, or Jolly’s job to inform you or anyone else out here about the candidates, it is your job, now if you have chosen someone to support and that person is being accused of something and you can defend it then fine. However doing what Eric is doing with regards to Huckabee is wrong, just like the RP Acolytes ignoring the question about the Nazi donations, Just like Hillary crying that the boys are being mean to her and she should not have to face these attacks and questions.
I will say it again, your job as a voter, as well as mine, is to gather all the information, both positive and negative and decide for yourself who you will support. It is not my job nor Eric, nor Hamous, or anyone else. Jolly has been the one who has attempted to evaluate the debates without any bias, but yes you can see where is point of view is based upon the comments he makes, but he has not gone out there and endorsed a candidate and used the debate evaluations as a platform to support one over another.
If you were trying to illustrate how easy it is to pull up pro or con internet articles on candidates, well, okay. But you didn’t make it clear that was your point. I don’t disagree with anything you say in #84, however, if that was your goal, it didn’t exactly come through loud and clear in your earlier comments.
That table is democrat, lutheran, episcipalian, catholic, and agnositc free, and no Ron Paul, evil newspaper reporters were injured in the making of this post!
texpat, jolly forget it, apparently you both failed to read this..
It comes down to as it was said before, everyone of us needs to examine each of these characters and determine for our selves which one will best serve the country as POTUS.
because all you saw was the article that I posted a quote from. And you both pointed out who the author was and his spin on things. But the point I was trying to make was in the comment above.
Also I never accused Jolly of bias, but did point out, that anyone can go out and find negative crap on anyone they want. I would bet that if you could give me any person in the public eye and I could find someone who has written something somewhere that is negative about that person, I do not care who it is. All Eric has done is decide that Huckabee is a fraud and a crook, and is trying to prove that fact, granted his methods and attitude can be called into question at times, but that is his right to do what he wants. He can be as big a putz as he wants as long as he does not cross the line in the sand that Matt and David have drawn. That is the way it is for all of us.
Chris Comer, who has been the Texas Education Agency’s director of science curriculum for more than nine years, offered her resignation this month.
In documents obtained Wednesday through the Texas Public Information Act, agency officials said they recommended firing Comer for repeated acts of misconduct and insubordination. But Comer said she thinks political concerns about the teaching of creationism in schools were behind what she describes as a forced resignation.
Agency officials declined to comment, saying it was a personnel issue.
The article goes on to describe the content of some of the emails that led to Ms. Comer’s “resignation” from the agency.
I think this is yet another reason to keep control of the public school system as close to the people as possible, with minimal influence from the State, and none from the federal government.
When you let the politicians run public education, it becomes politicized. (They’re politicians… It’s what they do!)
#79, Hamous, June Jones is happy and content in Hawaii, which is a strange thing to say about any coach in any major sport. Most of them fall into one of these categories, Liars, cheats, greedy Sob’s. That being said, I would love to see them go after Major Applewhite, who is the Offensive coordinator at Alabama right now. Give him the shot, he is young and would be someone we could set up with a sweetheart deal that rewards him for long term success. The problem is that until the school makes Robertson more visitor friendly attendance will be an issue.
And when I say more visitor friendly the best thing they could do is START OVER and build a nice 35K seat stadium that could be expanded if needed, but all that they have right now is not conducive to getting the $$$ in there and getting alumni support. The parking needs to be improved above all else.
A tea-sip at UH??? Sacrilegious! Just kidding. I think he’d be a good choice. On the stadium, yeah its showing its age. If a certain MLS team was truly community-oriented they would help pay to build a new stadium where Robertson is and share it with the Cougars.
#104, they would be willing but the problem is parking, the MLS team needs to be able to have events mid week and that is not possible with classes and the current parking. The best bet would be a new stadium on the south side of Campus or tear that one down and add a nice parking garage that is big enough to support the stadium as well as the students. But that makes to much sense…
Shannon, actually going to a school like UH would be the first logical step for Applewhite to move on to being the replacement for Brown.. I really think that the AD needs to look at UH’s football program as a place to develop both players and coaches.. Get young talented coaches in here and set them up to be a success and as more of them move on to bigger and better things the kids will see that the school is one that can help prepare you for both the NFL as well as other things. The problem UH has is it is not in a BCS conference and because of that they will not be able to hold on to a good coach for more than 3 to 5 maybe 6 years depending upon what jobs open up.

Powerful evangelical preacher comes out against Huckabee
http://www.newswithviews.com/baldwin/baldwin414.htm
Its a great morning the articles are pouring, pouring out faster than I anticipated
Hmmmmmm
Chuck Baldwin? Dude, now you’ve really lost it.
Chuck Baldwin? Oh no, Huck’s going to quake in his boots now.
3
Niiiice
Felons for Huckabee
Chuck at least links to facts - but then again we are not smearing evangelicals today are we BigJolly?
However I am astonished to find out that dozens of FOIA’s are out on Huckabee and he is going to be outed by many nefarious people of lutheran persuasion
Never trust vikings
LOL, dude, you have a problem. I think maybe you need to call someone.
Imagine the panic setting in as the MSM is scrambling to not be upstaged by the minutemen and drudge on Huckabee’s questionable business dealing outside the legislatures pervue…..
Going to be a hot time in Iowa,
as they say SCORCHING….
10
Yep I’m calling 1-800-not-another-Clinton
Or I’m starting a website - anyonebutthecrookfromarkansas.com
12
No she wrote an article defending the guy but then she advocated the jailing and torture of her fellow citizens at the same summit Huckabee won a straw poll
What in Sam hill goes on in those places….
AW
I was just considering the source
Everyone in Prison finds God trust me they always do.
However her current extreme views on gays precludes her from lecturing us on morals - that and her violent felon past.
But thats just me
But notice that in 2005/2006 Huckabee granted a taxpayer paid for Mexican consulate contract with supporters and no bid contracts etc
Interesting that the FOIA’s were held up and a court hearing just released them
And I wonder why is that……
Whats Governor Taxforthee trying to hide?
AW,
Unfortunately, if you aren’t a Christian as Mr.
BigJ this is your picture at the top of the page. What is your recipe using this sausage, this weekend?
Don’t faint! John Murtha says the surge is working. Isn’t he a day late and a dollar short?
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/07333/837824-100.stm
17
Her conversation is total dependent upon her character
Shes a felon
she’s a violent felon
She’s still advocating violence against gays at VALUES SUMMITs the same one that supposedly got Huckabee started…
She didn’t post any proof of what she said was true
Given her current and violent past, now we are to go down this path that if anyone declares themselves a christian they are above reproach?
17
Please point out any of my numerous definitions of christians…..
you’ve tried to wrap my arguments with facts, tables, spreadsheets before as an attack on christianhood, baptists, Jesus, and the lamb of God.
Last I checked God has yet to endorse Huckabee, last I checked.
Are we going down the path where anyone who supports Huckabee is slandered? Her Christian conversion must be false because she supports Huckabee S, It’s your job to dig dirt, and devalue her faith, to win? No. Don’t do this. I haven’t seen her in Montrose killing and castrating.
So*
“If you search through the comments, you see that is his underlying theme.
23
she’s not slandered
Let recap:
She is a Felon

Baldwins a fiscal liberal and a social conservative - he is a controversal figure to me but I repsect his holding all candidates to truthful conduct of their campaigns
http://commentisfree.guardian.co.uk/quin_hillyer/2007/11/above_the_fray.html
29
Our country and our freedoms are in peril.

Geez, Eric. 50% of the open comments thread this morning?
Simple
Jimb - As a sinner who turned his life around, better watch out. Apparently that’s not a virtue in some eyes.
Eric Johnson is like a thirteen year old boy in his bedroom every night writing letter after letter to some supermodel. He thinks she actually reads them.
TOO LATE!
#17, etc.
AW, Duhmoose, etc.

Politicans always seem to not do the right thing once they are in power, why is that???
sarge

They got their “quarantine of sodomites” quote from Huffington Post and The Nation magazine lefty slime merchant Max Blumenthal.
re #49 …and it will also leave you with a strange fondness for Mitt Romney.
Al Zolli gave that sausage to bigjolly, but then we already knew Al was a vampire. Beware of Italians bearing sausages.
I can’t believe I just wrote that. Now I’ve ruined this thread.
AW, It is my belief that God has put the differently abled in our lives to show us what true love and grace can mean.

Here even though CNN is a liberal bastion, they have done one thing that is right down the middle and that is their Candidates positions page
Check this out and see who you support. Who most closely fits your views, and who you believe is the best choice for POTUS.

Here is another Arkansan’s response to Brantley’s piece:
http://www.redstatenetwork.com/blogs/rollintruth/2007/nov/17/max_brantleys_obessive_dishonesty_about_mike_huckabee#comment
Just for the record: I am not a Huckabee supporter.
#72 - Bill, I don’t think bigjolly missed it. Huckabee is not even his first choice as a candidate. I think he’s just trying to counter the relentless smear, much of it based on nothing more than opinion.
#75, Hamous
It is obvious that some people around here missed the point but then it takes a 2×4 across the top of their heads for you to get their attention, because they are like a race horse with blinders on.. They only see what is right in front of them and most times that is their dislike for one person or another….
#72 bweldon
I believe it is a critical mistake to read opinion pieces, quote them and link to them without first researching the author, the website they utilize and their history. People do that everyday and it drives me nuts. For instance, Brantley has an axe to grind and it has everything to do with evaluating the very serious charges he levels at Huckabee.
Bill,
It rarely takes a 2 x 4 across my head to get my attention.
On another path.. 2 more children murdered by their mother…
Wonder what will be the evaluation of this person who had a child at 19….

#77 texpat,
Look I went to Google did a search on Mike Huckabee and pulled the first article that was not a link to his website.

That table is democrat, lutheran, episcipalian, catholic, and agnositc free, and no Ron Paul, evil newspaper reporters were injured in the making of this post!
Hey, what happened to the “silent interlude”?
texpat, jolly forget it, apparently you both failed to read this..
From yesterday’s Austin American Statesman.
(They’re politicians… It’s what they do!)
oops blockquote blunder… sorry

Brought a tear to my eye
Hamous have an hour reprieve - the GCC summit is here and they closed the raod for an hour
LST’s lucky day
#79, Hamous, June Jones is happy and content in Hawaii, which is a strange thing to say about any coach in any major sport.
The parking needs to be improved above all else.

someone gets an endorsement
I’ve just one question for the LST contributors!
Did retired Gen. Keith Kerr (plant) receive his promotion to Gen. while Clinton (Bill) was POTUS?
Why is it that guys lose it when a woman tells them to get lost.. Are they so desparate that they cannot handle rejection….

These sort of tantrums I would expect out of Jr High or High School kids….except without the guns….
A tea-sip at UH??? Sacrilegious! Just kidding. I think he’d be a good choice. On the stadium, yeah its showing its age. If a certain MLS team was truly community-oriented they would help pay to build a new stadium where Robertson is and share it with the Cougars.
And to think this is what MTV has evolved into…

I’d like to see Applewhite, too. But that would almost be a horizontal move. (Yikes, is that an insult??)
If he can get help Alabama back in the elite, and get a few more years experience, I think some big-time University will take a flyer on him.
Maybe he’ll replace a retired Mack Brown. I love to see that after they
screwed him overreplaced him with that TV commentator’s son at quarterback.they could use the new cy fair stadium.
