There is now hope. One of the judges was very concerned with the ” piling on” of charges trying to get these two men to plead guilty. It was good the attorney for the feds admitted Davilla told a few lies.

The judge is wrong. Ask EPJ, he’ll tell you. He was an eyewitness in his capacity as an advisor to the border patrol. That was in between his cheesemaking and linux development duties.

Later, Sutton was unavailable for comment, but this picture of him in a bar in El Paso tells it all:

Maybe, just maybe, something will happen to restore some faith in our system of justice. I’ve always been prejudiced toward the prosecution, but I’ve got to tell you that lately my confidence in law enforcement has been shaken. Pray for justice for these guys- not for me though - I don’t want justice, just mercy.

Is Judge Grady Jolly of any relation to bigjolly? That might be grounds for dismissal…

    Jim,

No I just read the transcripts :)

Unlike you - I like to talk about what I know about ;)

I am not one to use these words easily

Prayers people. These two men need all the help they can get.

El Presidente Jorge Boosh (who I voted for twice) could have freed these men a year ago yet he (and Vincente) decided not to.

I have completely lost faith in our political system. Maybe the courts might do better.

What is the definition of Revolution and is it time ?

  10. Mike Smith on December 4th, 2007 at 7:43 am

Dov, if Bush had pardoned the agents, they would forever be known as the guilty out-of-control agents that were pardoned by the President.

If their appeal is successful, they will be forever known as the poor border agents that were railroaded by an overly aggressive prosecutor and a clueless judge, then sent to jail for doing their jobs.

    Which legacy would YOU want?

  11. raiderdav on December 4th, 2007 at 8:23 am

#10 I would want to be out of prison and with my family at home.

  12. Mike Smith on December 4th, 2007 at 8:26 am

    #11… That’s obvious…

  13. raiderdav on December 4th, 2007 at 8:51 am

Well its also obvious that you’d want a stamp of approval on what you’ve done, rather than being ‘let off the hook’ with a pardon. You can’t assume that Bush is allowing these guys to stay in prison because he’s wanting to help their legacy.

Regardless of the method, they shouldn’t be in prison.

Bush is not concerned with their legacy. He is protecting Mexico and his buddy, Sutton.
