We were never losing. Only in the mind of a Dhimmicrat (or the “enlightened one”) could we win every battle and still lose.

The only defeat we could suffer would come as a knife from behind, with a ‘D’ on it. A sick or morally corrupt individual would lose a war to win an election.

Petraeus is the right man at the right time.

    Yah but Hammie;

Bush lied, so none of thIS good news matters anyway.

The fact that tens of thousands of Iraquis are now shooting at al Queda instead of being recruited by them, and shooting at those they recruit to come into that country doesn’t matter either.

After all—we all know that Bush told us that Iraq was behind 9/11 and didn’t admit that they weren’t until four years and thousands of American Soldiers deaths happened. THAT is all that matters

    Wait–

    What?

You mean all he ever said was this:

(snipped) And, of course, sophisticated delivery systems are not required for a chemical or biological attack — all that might be required are a small container and one terrorist or Iraqi intelligence operative to deliver it.

And that is the source of our urgent concern about Saddam Hussein’s links to international terrorist groups.

Over the years, Iraq has provided safe haven to terrorists such as Abu Nidal, whose terror organization carried out more than ninety terrorist attacks in twenty countries that killed or injured nearly 900 people, including 12 Americans.

Iraq has also provided safe haven to Abu Abbas, who was responsible for seizing the Achille Lauro and killing an American passenger. And we know that Iraq is continuing to finance terror, and gives assistance to groups that use terrorism to undermine Middle East peace.

We know that Iraq and the al Qaeda terrorist network share a common enemy — the United States of America. We know that Iraq and al Qaeda have had high-level contacts that go back a decade. Some al Qaeda leaders who fled Afghanistan went to Iraq.

These include one very senior al Qaeda leader who received medical treatment in Baghdad this year, and who has been associated with planning for chemical and biological attacks. We have learned that Iraq has trained al Qaeda members in bomb making, poisons, and deadly gases.

And we know that after September 11, Saddam Hussein’s regime gleefully celebrated the terrorist attacks on America. Iraq could decide on any given day to provide a biological or chemical weapon to a terrorist group or individual terrorists.

Alliances with terrorists could allow the Iraqi regime to attack America without leaving any fingerprints.

Which is all completley true and has never been proven false?

And he said this in 4 years ago:

Q Mr. President, Dr. Rice and Secretary Rumsfeld both said yesterday that they have seen no evidence that Iraq had anything to do with September 11th. Yet, on Meet the Press, Sunday, the Vice President said Iraq was a geographic base for the terrorists and he also said, I don’t know, or we don’t know, when asked if there was any involvement. Your critics say that this is some effort — deliberate effort to blur the line and confuse people. How would you answer that?

THE PRESIDENT: We’ve had no evidence that Saddam Hussein was involved with the September 11th. What the Vice President said was, is that he has been involved with al Qaeda. And al Zarqawi, al Qaeda operative, was in Baghdad. He’s the guy that ordered the killing of a U.S. diplomat. He’s a man who is still running loose, involved with the poisons network, involved with Ansar al-Islam. There’s no question that Saddam Hussein had al Qaeda ties.

Which is true too, and has been proven top be true over and over again?

Well—none of that matters. We beleive he lied about Iraq being behind 9/11, even though we can’t prove that he did. It must be true that e lied because fits in with what we beleive, what we want others to beleve, so we’re going to repeat it as often as we can even though we know it’s not true so that people will hate Bush as much as we do.

Because WE are open minded and YOU aren’t.

    SO THERE.

    Signed:

    A bunch of idiots.

Can we draft him for President?

  4. sargevining on December 31st, 2007 at 3:21 pm

Actually, he’s been mentioned as a possible VP. He would help any of the candidates tickets in that capacity—but we need him right where he is right now.

Aloha all. Sarge #2, in that vein, liberals want to forget all about this: http://www.snopes.com/politics/war/wmdquotes.asp

  9. gadboy on December 31st, 2007 at 7:47 pm

I am a little confused. Where in his speech did General Petraeus give the impression that he thought he was having to fight the “leftists” back home?

  10. sargevining on December 31st, 2007 at 9:57 pm

    Gaddy;

    Just looked.

Nobody claimed that he did say that.

Can you show us where they did?

  11. gadboy on January 1st, 2008 at 8:20 am

I didn’t say the General said that. Hamous said he was fighting the people on the left back home. Thta is a ridiculous statement.

  12. texpat on January 1st, 2008 at 9:53 am

    #11 gadboy

Hamous was referring to the concerted and coordinated efforts to defame and discredit the American military by Moveon.org, Nancy Pelosi, Jack Murtha, George Soros, Media Matters, Harry Reid, Rahm Emanuel, lying editors/reporters of AP/AFP/Reuters, conniving morons at CIA, sniveling idiots at State, Time magazine, Daily Kos, Democratic Underground, lunatics at Huffington Post, Keith Olbermann, MSNBC, CNN, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Katie Couric/Matt Lauer, legions of anti-American professoriat, Patrick Leahy, New York Times, Washington Post, John Kerry and the thousands of unseen gatekeepers in the mainstream media who will send a camera/reporter and devote space to any babbling, drooling fool who has the slightest criticism to make of our fighting men and women and the their commander in Chief.
