While we conservative Republicans have our own problems - like a bunch of left-leaning candidates seeking the GOP nomination under false pretenses - it is nice to be reminded that the world of the far left is even wackier.  Just consider:

HILLARY PANDERS TO ILLEGALS

Politicians from Arkansas are good at giving citizens’ money away to illegal aliens, but few can pander like Hillary:

Clinton and her busload of traveling press moved from there to the popular local Mexican restaurant Lindo Michoacan, where a “roundtable” that was actually square passed a microphone around to tell her people’s concerns about the mortgage crisis and foreclosures. She took notes and munched on tortilla chips.

In broken English, one woman told Clinton how she wasn’t making money as a broker anymore.

“I have no income at all,” she said. “So how will I survive?”

Choking up with emotion, the woman said, “In my neighborhood, there are brand-new homes, but the value is nothing. I’m glad you are here so I can tell you, because you’re going to be the president, I know.”

A man shouted through an opening in the wall that his wife was illegal.

“No woman is illegal,” Clinton said, to cheers.

Summing it up at the end, Clinton said, “We’ve only talked to a few people, but each of them talk about some part of the problem we are confronting. This is a problem that is only going to get worse if we don’t address it.”

Clinton said unscrupulous lending leads to bad mortgages, which lead to foreclosures, which lead to people with nowhere to go and vacant neighborhoods that can go rapidly downhill.

“We treat these problems as if one is guacamole and one is chips, when … they both go together,” she said.

I’m not sure the guacamole comment will go down in history alongside “Ask not what your country can do for you, . . .” or “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall,” but at least she knows her audience.

DENNIS THE MENACE FLAKES OUT - AGAIN

The Amazing Mr. Kucinich apparently doesn’t believe that 98% of New Hampshire Democrats didn’t vote for him:

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - Democrat Dennis Kucinich, who won less than 2 percent of the vote in the New Hampshire primary, said Thursday he wants a recount to ensure that all ballots in his party’s contest were counted. The Ohio congressman cited “serious and credible reports, allegations and rumors” about the integrity of Tuesday results.

Deputy Secretary of State David Scanlan said Kucinich is entitled to a statewide recount. But, under New Hampshire law, Kucinich will have to pay for it. Scanlan said he had “every confidence” the results are accurate.

I pity election officials in some poor state where Kucinich actually gets 5 percent of the vote.  He’ll probably stage a sit-in.

FINALLY!  PETA SPEAKS OUT FOR PEOPLE

PETA, the group of anti-meat kooks who habitually place animals’ rights over people’s, has finally gone to bat for humans - but only if they are in danger of being somebody’s lunch.

Sheriff’s officials [in Tyler, TX] were astounded Thursday by a letter requesting the man accused of murdering his girlfriend and possibly participating in cannibalism be placed on a vegetarian diet to keep him from being “involved in any senseless killing” while incarcerated.

The letter was faxed to the Smith County Sheriff’s Jail from the national headquarters of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals Thursday morning.

The Sheriff’s reaction was mine exactly:

“You have to be kidding me, right?”

Sorry, Sheriff - unfortunately, those people really are that strange.

In light of stories like these, perhaps this is a weekend to relax and reflect on how much better off we are on the right side of the political spectrum.

Besides, there’ll be plenty of time to bash the Republican candidates next week.
