I like Ronulans better than Paulistinians

  3. KentBook on February 2nd, 2008 at 5:32 pm

    OMG, LROTFLMAO–thanks Sqauwk! So perfect!

  4. KentBook on February 2nd, 2008 at 5:37 pm

2: Al, That’s why I’ve been using it for months–they hate it worse than Paulettes or many others.

You must add, the quote from Worf, “The Ronulans are a waste of Skin.”

Squawk Squawk……….too funny. Isn’t Maine trying to impeach GW?

  6. Rastus on February 2nd, 2008 at 5:45 pm

I just don’t get it. John McSwine looks nothing like this picture - and neither does Hayseed Graham in the background.

  7. KentBook on February 2nd, 2008 at 5:54 pm

Wow, that guy behind the PooBah is on the MTV candidate thing–he’s just turned black.

  8. KentBook on February 2nd, 2008 at 5:55 pm

AW: Yep, one little Town, says they’ll arrest them if they ever set foot in town.

  9. KentBook on February 2nd, 2008 at 5:56 pm

    #7: And I don’t mean BO–it’s one of hte DJs I guess–hell, I never watch MTV

  10. KentBook on February 2nd, 2008 at 6:16 pm

It was interesting–well, not really–just expected–that all of Rp’s majority responses were favorable on every question. The moderator guy mentioned that it was something his “followers” weere known for.

Listen to the Pubbys, they know they are going to fail, they have thrown Mitt, who would not have destroyed the Conservative movement, under the bus and as they whistle pass the graveyard, tell themselves gunslinger Johnny Arizona will win the day.

  12. Adee on February 2nd, 2008 at 8:00 pm

AW and Kent, it’s a town in Vermont (not Maine) that wants to arrest Pres. Bush and/or VP Cheney. Recently some of the sane residents demanded the town council ditch that idea because it makes everybody there look like idiots. Yes, it does. I’d guess they’re very concerned it is bad for the tourist business. There are enough kooks in VT without that.

  13. Adee on February 2nd, 2008 at 8:03 pm

Squawk, great composition on the picture. I see the guy on the left is wearing a Lone Star Times medallion; he obviously has excellent taste.

  14. KentBook on February 2nd, 2008 at 8:48 pm

I like the Paulbot in the back

  15. bob42 on February 2nd, 2008 at 8:55 pm

    Hey! That Paulbot was ME!

    Nice work Squawk, as usual.

I thought about putting a commemorative “42″ in there somewhere, but I did not want anyone claiming I was playing favorites.

I am such a putz, it has taken so long to realize the order of impotance, the significance of things, reality; stopping the Amnesty bill was more significant than stopping the man that wrote it.

This week I have banged around trying to create motion in defense of this country, of conservatism, and if one were draw conclusion from comments this past week, no one cares.

squawk, a couple of months ago I was really p***ed at you, whelp, the people get the government they deserve.

Hey squawk, as a Trekkie myself, this is Sacrelege. As Kirk once said, ” I want my pain, I NEED my pain.” …… Seriously, in a campaign which has harped upon one’s Religion, why don’t we resort to prayer for ‘King’ and Country? Surely, if the Almighty has an interest in helping good people who are trying to stem the tide of Socialism and Marksism; He will either give us the name of the one to vote for , or intervene to have things go His way or allow us, as He always does, the agency to choose for ourselves. Nevertheless, prayer should NOT be left out of our political ponderings….. even with the ‘Prime Directive’ of God’s letting us Choose here on earth, He will act on our behalf provided we are wothy of such blessings……….. I know that I have bored you all and in some ways push my faith on you recently; partly in defense of it. But I thought you should know that the Book of Mormon teaches that this land has been blessed as to Righteous people living on it and cursed if they turn too far away. It also says that ‘Christ is the God of this Land’ ( for our Jewish brethren and sisters it says that he is the Jehovah of the old Testament. So presumably, Devout Jews and Christians would be blessed for Worshipping the ‘God of this land’.) I believe arguments could be made for this land’s being ’special’. I hope my more historically inclined friends will not nit-pick History too much to disprove this point. In addition I think we could ‘assume’ a great degree of ‘expectation’ from the Almighty of those blessed to live here.

    pimlico

Dang if you are not the first Trekkie to complain at me. ;)

I guess there should be an award for that, but alas it is not so.

As for the rest of your comment…
    Yup

  21. pimlico on February 2nd, 2008 at 10:46 pm

It’s great to be in Texas and get a’yup’ from sqawk!

  22. pimlico on February 2nd, 2008 at 10:49 pm

PS Squawk, the first Two visits I made to the Alamo turned into religious experiences. I felt a profound reverence for those Men and their sacrifice. I understand that some Historians consider the battle of San Jacinto as one of the most historically significant events in History. ( something to the effect that it opened the west etc.)

  23. squawkbox on February 2nd, 2008 at 10:54 pm

    pimlico

Three of my favorite places to visit

    1. The Alamo
    2. San Jacinto Monument
    3 Washington on the Brazos

If you ever get the time, follow the Texas Independence Trail.

  24. pimlico on February 2nd, 2008 at 10:58 pm

Thanks, I need to go to Washing ton on the Brazos and Goliad. Good night all.

If you go to to Goliad, choose a nice, bright Saturday or Sunday afternoon in the spring. It is an especially eerie and yet honorable place. My brother, Shannon, and I have had some experiences there not quite of this world. I love Goliad and return to it whenever I can.

  26. pimlico on February 2nd, 2008 at 11:31 pm

    thanks, manana

  27. LizBV on February 3rd, 2008 at 6:30 am

#25 Thanks for saying that Texpat. Several years ago I knew there was a dog somewhere who needed me, so Sarge and I prayed, jumped in the car and headed out to destinations unknown to find it. We ended up in Goliad. Didn’t find the dog that day but toured the ruins and learned the history on a sunny afternoon when it was almost desserted. Experienced intense feelings and emotions but fought them, thinking I must be nuts. (Now I want to go back and NOT fight them.)

Found the dog the next day at a shelter, a black shephard. Have her still today. She is my warrior guardian.

  28. LizBV on February 3rd, 2008 at 7:49 am

#27 PS - Ruins is the wrong word. Should be chapel, buildings, grounds, etc…

  29. NWstorm_rider on February 3rd, 2008 at 2:53 pm

Ronulans, Paulistinans, Paulettes, Paulistas, Paulbearers, Paulbots, Ronnettes, Paultards - whatever childish names various LSTers have been used to call supporters of Ron Paul makes no difference to me. It reflects more on the user’s ignorance and lack of respect for others than it does on the people it is referring.

BTW, as to which contributor to LST has posted the most idiotic comments about Ron Paul this week, I’d say it was a toss-up between Fasternu’s exceedingly crude and unhumorous statement that “Ron Paul looks at vaginas and makes earmarks for shrimp, that qualifies him to lead us! So, if I drive through Long John Silver’s then stop and get a porno mag, I’ll be just as qualified as Dear Leader!” or KentBooks’ stupendously asinine observation that “RP is subverting Conservatism just as Islamofascists subvert Islam.”

As to Squawk’s photo, I think it’s great fun! Now, if he would just do one with McCain or Romney or Huckabee, I’d be even more amused.

  31. hamous on February 3rd, 2008 at 5:00 pm

What? I don’t even get honorable mention??? I’ll try harder this week. Let me start off with:

Ron Paul is a mental disorder

  32. KentBook on February 3rd, 2008 at 5:24 pm

Hamous: guess SB (who drinks shiner anyway? we used to serve shiner after everybody got lit at A&M, so we didn’t waste the good stuff) didn’t read my apology and further explanation regarding my statement, but oh well. Why so sensitive, oh and, the equal time thing is really too much if the Ronulans don’t understand.

    Heh

    Your wish is my command.

Oh btw I found the Ronulan name on a blog totally unrelated to this one. In fact the story I cite above said Ronluan.

  34. ShinerBlonde on February 3rd, 2008 at 6:53 pm

KentBook - Let me guess….Bud Lite? Or maybe Coors…lite, of course.

Hamous - Your mental disorder comment was duly noted. It just wasn’t as low-brow as the others.

Squawk - Fun with photos - always a kick! Heh!
