LST identifies Obama’s Che Moonbat

by David Benzion | 02/13/2008 6:00 am | Alert moderator

Our Monday post highlighting a Cuban flag with the super-imposed face of psychotic Marxist Che Guevara hanging in Barack Obama’s Houston HQ’s has caused quite a kerfuffle, which we are happy to inflame further with today’s update.

Of all the headlines written in response to our post, our favorite is from Sean Lovett of Portland, Oregon–

Someone’s A Dumbass

So true, Sean… and a LoneStarTimes.com investigation has determined that the dumbass who hung a flag of psychotic Marxist Che Guevara in Barack Obama’s Houston headquarters is almost certainly a Ms. Maria Isabel.

How do we know this? First a bit of video triangulation.

Here’s the report on the HQ’s opening from FOX 26 on 2/6/08; note the woman with long brown hair & thick-framed glasses shouting “Barack Obama, woo-hoo!”; woman not named in this report.

marisa-isabel-1.JPG
Unnamed “Woo-Hoo” woman

Turns out that the above-mentioned WooHooer was actually profiled by FOX 26 in an earlier report on 2/3/08, where she is clearly identified as Maria Isabel, and–incredibly–is even shown distributing Obama literature with that same damn Che Guevara flag!

marisa-isabel-2.JPG
Oh Yes She Did!

Want more? Hey, it’s circumstantial, but we got it!

Check out the second comment on this Houston Chronicle thread:

The flag (and the woman in the video) look like the same one that is flown by Maria Isabel, the leader of SWPO - the group that fought Old Sixth Ward residents on their historic preservation efforts. She and her husband live in an apartment where they fly the flag on their balcony.

Posted by: Larissa at February 12, 2008 02:03 PM

LST’s intrepid Managing Editor Matt Bramanti swung by late Tuesday afternoon, where he spotted a full-sized Stars & Stripes 100% Gen-u-wine AMERICAN flag proudly flying from Isabel’s apartment… along with a uniformed Houston Police Department officer stationed outside, no doubt to (successfully) intimidate intrepid right-wing bloggers from engaging in Citizen Journalism and asking the Tough Questions of unexpectedly Overexposed Moonbats.

Other interesting tidbits about Ms. Isabel:

marisa-and-barack.JPG

But best of all is this video posted on YouTube by the above mentioned “Larissa” and others trying to stop Isabel from constructing an apparently hideous McMansion on the site of a historic Old Sixth Ward home.

Did you catch that quote from Ms. Isabel?

It’s wrong to try to implement restrictions in my private property. I own this piece of land. This is America. I should be able to do anything I want with it.

Yet she’s flying and hanging a Cuban flag with Che Guevara’s face plastered on it?

Can you believe this Moonbat hypocrisy?

Oh yes. We can.

Excellent reporting!!! So, she has security at her apartment. Ya think people were offended by the Che flag? Moonbat is too kind.

  2. Bannable Lecturer Says:

    nut mix

  3. hamous Says:

Those three flags in the second pic are not positioned in accordance with the ancient art of Balinese flag placement. Not very feng shui. Can’t you just feel the ch’i pouring out the door?

  4. Adee Says:

#3, Hamous, right on with the nuanced snide comment enveloped in foreign decorating philosophy so the dense ones do not catch on until someone hits ‘em upside the cabeza with a tastefully chosen 2 x 4, swung from just the correct angle, mind you. Sorry for the run-on sentences, but it just flowed.

  5. Adee Says:

Correction sentence singular. But it’s long enough to be at least two.

  6. KentBook Says:

Noce posting, and congrats for the Ingraham and Radio notice.

  7. Fasternu 426 Says:

Che would have drug her by her hair in front of a firing squad for the good of the state.

But… but… he’s that cool t-shirt guy. The revolutionary of love…. Property rights my arse!

    Bourgeoise moonbats are the worst…..

  8. hamous Says:

#4 Adee, it’s a delicate balance, especially when you’re rolling on the floor laughing at the thought of a room full of self-loathing, new-age hippies in a circle banging on drums to summon Gaia’s powers to propel their Nubian Prince into the presidency.

  9. sargevining Says:

    Who supports you matters.

  10. Dave D Says:

Benzine says; Can you believe this Moonbat’s hypocrisy?
That my friends is the understatement of the year!

  11. Adee Says:

#8 Hamous, so right that it’s all a matter of balance and trying to maintain same when doubled over in hysterical laughter. Even sitting on the floor it’s hard to keep one’s balance, but at least losing it only results in a slow roll and not a potentially injurious crash. Anyhow, laughter is a good cathartic. Carry on.

And the illegals started flying American flags at their rallies after they were shown flying Mexican flags on TV.

Didn’t change one. Dam. Thing. About their opinion or thier politics.

  13. vlou Says:

Hammy…LOL. We are having way too much fun on this one!

  14. hamous Says:

vlou, like Adee says, laughter is a good cathartic!

  15. davidh Says:

Thank you for this report! Nice work! So I think you’ve shown that this really was a moonbat, dumbass Obama volunteer who was freelancing. She is not a part of Obama’s staff. This is how volunteering works, I guess.

I know of many politically active people who’d rather fly the General Lee rather than the Stars and Stripes of the Union, and yet they work on behalf of national Republican candidates. That also doesn’t reflect well on their patriotism, but we know that McCain doesn’t support racism or Southern independence, and we don’t try to tar him with the misdeeds of some of his dumber volunteers. It seems to me that Obama deserves the same treatment, otherwise this election will stop being about the candidates altogether!

  16. ShinerBlonde Says:

    Kerfuffle? Sheesh, I guess so!

Moonbat? Definitely! Although I agree with AW in that it’s a bit too kind.

2X4, Adee? Too good for the woman and so messy. I was thinking more along the lines of deportation to Cuba.

Ch’i pouring out the door, Hamous? I never bought into that feng shui ’scheibenhonig’ before but a outpouring of Ch’i would explain why any semi-intelligent American citizen would get chills if they walked into a room that had a Cuban/Guevara flag prominently on display!

IMO, everyone who worked in that office, everyone who visited that office - in other words, everyone who SAW that flag hanging up - and didn’t get mad and raise Hell about it, needs to have their patriotism seriously questioned.

As my dear, departed mother would say, “The NERVE of those people!?!”I

  17. Kojiro Vance Says:

I found another video of Maria Isabel on KHOU. It sure looks like she is officially organizing for Obama:

  18. Kojiro Vance Says:

    And there is this:

    A 50′ high “meditation tower”?

  19. Meglet Says:

I thought all these kinds of kooky people were the ones holding the gigantic “VOTE RON PAUL REVOLUTION” signs over I-45 during rush hour???

  20. ShinerBlonde Says:

    #18 - Boy, I saw that one coming…

  21. Big45Iron Says:

Hamous, that’s not Ch’i pouring out the door…it’s Che.

  22. hamous Says:

#20 And it wasn’t even from me ;-)

  23. hamous Says:

I know of many politically active people who’d rather fly the General Lee rather than the Stars and Stripes of the Union, and yet they work on behalf of national Republican candidates.

I haven’t seen the battle flag flying in any of McCain’s campaign offices, have you? Send us pictures if you have some.

  24. Matt Bramanti Says:

I know of many politically active people who’d rather fly the General Lee

Hell, I wouldn’t mind flying the General Lee.

  25. Silo Says:

How in the world does someone compare the Confederate Battle Flag to the Cuban Flag with a picture of a monster like Che Guevera on it.
I guess I should expect an apple tree to grow from my orange seeds.

Last I checked the General Lee was a car.

  26. Silo Says:

    #24 YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

  27. sctanker Says:

hamous….I agree. Where has anyone seen a Battle Flag in McCain’s offices? In fact, he was speaking against it flying at the SC Confederate Memorial on the state house grounds (the supposeldy offensive place that the media spews). Being a native South Carolinian and definitely NOT a McCain supporter, I think the Battle Flag issue is best left to that state and not the other 49 and the Feds.

Still, the issue is this: How is it that someone can post the image of a mass-murdering Socialist in the office of an elected official running for the highest elected office in the land and NOT face intensive media proctological exams? Fellow travellers, indeed!

  28. Kojiro Vance Says:

Hey didn’t that Paulinian from Houston who submitted a YouTube question at the Republican debate have a “General Lee” flag and a “V for Vendetta” mask in the background?

Would that not be “Maria Isabel Pendejo”?

  29. gadboy Says:

Can LST become any more irrelevant? The Obama campaign knew nothing about this office or this woman. I’m sure if I looked long and hard enough I could find a Duncan Hunter supporter who is a member of the KKK. Would that make Hunter a racist?

  30. sctanker Says:

#24 reminds me of a take on the old Calgon commerical from the 1970’s:

“Ancient redneck secret: we fix cars, we don’t do laundry!”

    Secretive redneck, here! ;)

  31. hamous Says:

Can LST become any more irrelevant?

That’s how we know when we’ve hit a nerve. That’s the same thing the Rombies say…

  32. davidh Says:

    18. Kojiro, thanks for posting that link:

    http://www.offthekuff.com/mt/archives/005771.html

From that article it’s 100% clear that she’s a nutjob local organizer who loves to jump in front of cameras. Obama has nothing to do with her and didn’t put her in charge of anything. She’s not on his payroll or anything like that. Yeah, campaigns will attract volunteers of that sort, and worse. Obama can’t fire her because he never hired her, so let’s hope she has the sense to apologise and realize how stupid she is.

  33. One Voice Says:

    #15 - davidh:

Those of us who had g-grandfathers; g-uncles; and cousins who fought for the south strongly resent your implication that the flag of the Confederacy can be compared with the flag of Communist Cuba that has been embellished with an image of that murdering b*****d Che in any way, shape, or form!

WE fought for our CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to secede from the union. A right, by the way, that was denied us by the federal government and enforced by armed agression.

Che, on the other hand, tortured and murdered under the lie of Communism while in reality lining his own pockets.

    There’s absolutely NO comparison!

  34. Silo Says:

#29 I guess just irrelevant enough for you to add your opinion.

  35. hamous Says:

…so let’s hope she has the sense to apologise and realize how stupid she is.

I’m familiar with this woman. She’s of Cuban descent and yet she has (had) a mass murderer’s image, a man responsible for killing tens of thousands of Cubans, flying over her house. I think the sense ship set sail a long time ago.

  36. Fasternu 426 Says:

    davidh

She is typical of the Obama voter. Ignorant of pretty much everything.
Tell me how Obama is going to “change” anything? Run from a war we are winning. Wreck the economy by insituting universal health care. Conduct foreign policy by “broadband townhall meetings” (wtf does that mean? The guy is an empty suit, like the deceased icon Che…

    I have a Che T-shirt and I don’t know why.

I have an Obama T-shirt and I don’t know why.

  37. hamous Says:

    “I’m familiar with this woman.”

Uh, not in the biblical sense. ;-)

  39. Kojiro Vance Says:

So what is “Camp Obama 16″? Is that where they hand out the Che flags?

Has anyone tried calling Maria? Just wondering if she is taking calls these days.

  40. Noah Says:

It’s wrong to try to implement restrictions in my private property. I own this piece of land. This is America. I should be able to do anything I want with it.

That over-watered lawn looks a bit like a wetland to me. She’d better talk to the feds before she mows it again…

  41. RickG Says:

    29 gadboy and 32 davidh

So I guess that means if she pops up as an “authorized” Hussien Obama volunteer, you will both vociferously denounce him?

Gadboy, you seem to show up around here pretty often. Why do you waste your time on irrelevant blogs?

She should be proud if another fellow traveller took her yard for “the good of the people.” ;)

    Man, I HATE bourgoise Bolsheviks!

  44. Fontessa Says:

You can use Screen Hunter 5.0 which is free, from
    http://www.wisdom-soft.com/
to screen capture pages where you suspect this woman might try to bury the evidence. There is a wealth of information to be found in her 80 flickr photos. It will be hard for Obama to deny that she’s an unauthorized or rogue volunteer.

  45. hamous Says:

These people have all the signs of becoming as goony as another candidates “followers”:

    Don’t throw it away…OBAMACYCLE!

  46. Kojiro Vance Says:

    #32 davidh - #44 Fontessa

I think I just answered my question. On the Flickr site check out the “Chicago Trip”. Maria was in Chicago between September 14 and 17 for “Camp Obama” volunteer training.

For someone not officially attached to the campaign, she got awfully close to the senator with her Canon PowerShot SD630 digital camera. The same one she used to take pictures of herself in the Harris County Democrat Party on November 17 with Gerry Birnberg, Chairman of the party. (gotta love Exif).

Note that Gerry sports cool suspenders and posters of RFK, JFK, and Jimmy Carter. Not a Che flag in sight.

  47. Kojiro Vance Says:

More evidence. Here is the group photo from Camp Obama 16: http://www.flickr.com/photos/13912610@N06/1414323252/

And here is a YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvPiKW0nRXM

Forward to about 1:10 in the video. You see them setting up for the group shot. Maria is in a tan blouse and black skirt on the front row extreme left. The YouTube video actually shows a volunteer using Maria’s PowerShot to take the picture that shows up in Flickr.

If this were the Clinton’s they would claim they don’t know who she is and she is just a stalker who keeps getting too close to Obama.

No wait, close to Michelle Obama! Hugs and kisses??? Nope, we don’t know her! http://www.flickr.com/photos/13912610@N06/1413296223/

  48. AaronsCC Says:

I wonder how Ms. Moonbat would react to these t-shirts.

  49. Kojiro Vance Says:

Say it ain’t so! Che lover and Republican Paul Bettencourt???

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/13912610@N06/1920109446/in/datetaken/

She must be a secret Republican plant! Yes, that is it.

  50. hamous Says:

Kojiro, check the front page ;-)

  51. monkeyincognito Says:

I have a Regan shirt that uses the same technique as the Che shirt. I love the double takes and the knowing smiles. I also have a shirt with AuH2O. Gotta dig a little deeper for people that get that one.

  52. hamous Says:

    I got it monkey ;-)

I have one of these shirts. I purposely wore it to a bar right next door to where Ms. Isabel lives. Someone there called me a Nazi. With a straight face! Those midtown folks are ka-ray-zee.

  53. kvk67 Says:

Look at this picture from her photostream

the First bullet ( signed by ‘maria’ ) states,
“I want to re-establish & nurture our relationships with our neighboring countries”

Does that country include CUBA??? Venezuela ?

Barrack needs some distance from this nut

  54. Pal2Pal Says:

I would liken the Che/Cuban flag more to the flag of Nazi Germany than to the Confederate Flag. If any candidate had a Nazi flag in a campaign office, the uproar would be unbelievable.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Socialist_German_Workers_Party

And having run and/or worked on a few campaigns in my time, including national presidential campaigns, there is no such thing as a “private” campaign office. You can’t have volunteers opening their own offices and have no control over what info/literature they are disseminating on behalf of your candidate. It would be chaos.

  55. monkeyincognito Says:

Hamous, they have my Regan shirt there! Only mine was on the olive drab just like the Che.

  56. Kojiro Vance Says:

    hamous #50 - Funny.

Maybe we should lighten up on Obama a bit. BUT, i did’t see Che lover go to “Camp Bettencourt”, and there is just the ONE picture. I don’t see pictures of her hugging Susan. (I know them from church.)

  57. tim maguire Says:

I’m looking at the picture and I see Che Guavara flag on the left and a peace flag on the right. And the only thing protecting the peace flag from the Che flag is the American flag.

I have no problem with that.

  58. Kojiro Vance Says:

#57 - I was going to give her credit for at least hanging the flag correctly, with the union to the left. But she has made some serious flag etiquitte errors. In our rush to consider the Che flag we overlooked what she has done to the US flag:

    1) The flag should never have placed on it, or attached to it, any mark, insignia, letter, word, number, figure, or drawing of any kind. (Obama sign attached to flag)

    2) The flag should never be placed equal only to flags of other nations at peace. I don’t think the Cuban flag or the Che or “Peace” flags qualify as a place of equal honor.

    3) The flag should not be used as a drapery, or for covering a speakers desk, draping a platform, or for any decoration in general. Bunting of blue, white and red stripes is available for these purposes. The blue stripe of the bunting should be on the top. (In the Flikr photos they use the flag to cover a coffee table with some knick knacks on top http://www.flickr.com/photos/13912610@N06/1413166191/ ).

  59. George Bruce Says:

#7 “Che would have drug her by her hair in front of a firing squad for the good of the state.”

Che would have had someone else drag her to the firing line so he could shoot her with his own pistol. The good of the state be damned. He just wanted to shoot people.

If you find a KKK member who supports Duncan Hunter, elt us know. Not that ti matteres, he’s not running for president and didn’t get that many votes anyway.

If you did, I’d have the same question for him that I had for the Ron Paul Campaing (a Republican candidate), as I now do for the Obama Campaing:

If you can’t screen the volunteers who have the keys to the office any better than this, WTF can we expect for judicial nominees and Cabinet members?

  61. joewilson Says:

    Leaping lizards, a flag.

Did you see McMaverick flip flop on torture today?

Yes lizards, he was against it but voted for it today but it failed.

At least there is still 24. LOL.

  62. sargevining Says:

Did you see McMaverick flip flop on torture today?

This is whatI heard him say about the Baby Killers responsible for 9/11

I asked the Senator whether he would have any reservations about the execution of the six detainees on trial at Guantanamo Bay for their role in the 9/11 attacks, whether he is comfortable with the current legal regime for trying detainees, and whether the interrogation techniques used there cast doubt on the fairness of the trials. His response:

McCain: No. I would not have concerns. I rely to a large degree on my friend Lindsey Graham, who is a JAG lawyer and who has been intimately involved in this whole process. These are not individuals who deserve the protections of the kind of judicial process that a citizen of the United States would have. We did not give those rights and privileges in the Nuremberg tribunals…these tribunals as far as I can tell…are appropriate and they are the way to address these particular cases…and there’s nothing in the Geneva Conventions or any other rule of law that I’ve ever seen that said that the same rights and privileges apply to them as apply to American citizens.

As far as I’m concerned, it’s another indication that McCain wants my vote, and the people you support don’t.

    thank you

  65. hud Says:

I don’t like her politics. The Che thing has always just been something for pseudo revolutionaries to use as a symbol of their bonafides in the “struggle”. The historical fact that he was a brutal thug is just an inconvenient thing that is best glossed over. If she lived in Miami my guess is that she would have thought twice about the flag - there would have been many to remind her of its true meaning.

To the extent that I have any sympathy at all for this woman’s views, it is in relation to her comment in the video about her property rights. Without knowing any of the particulars about this local neighborhood battle, my own inclination is usually to support whatever people choose to do with their own land, especially since local governments seem increasingly inclined to take it away from them if they think it can be made to be economically advantageous for them.

  67. notbliss Says:

    To comment #65- hud:

To give you a little more information on the “neighborhood battle”, Ms Isabel and her husband bought property in a designated historic district, which was years into its efforts to obtain some reasonable regulation to protect its historic character. Houston’s preservation ordinance was (and still is for anywhere outside the Old Sixth Ward) educational, which is to say “voluntary”. The effort pre-dated her purchase by many years. She was a leader in a group that called themselves “swpo”.

We were disappointed to see this picture because it is both offensive to many Cuban-Americans — and Americans of all backgrounds — and because it does not reflect Senator Obama’s views. Barack Obama has been very clear in putting forward a Cuba policy that is based on one principle: freedom for the Cuban people.”

Someone please inform those people that the image of che is in complete contradiction to what they are doing. They are working at an American campaign election office? An office that upholds Democracy and is used to defend our Constitutional right to vote. What is wrong with those people, are they really that ignorant that they do not understand that che stood against Democracy, Capitalism, Individual Liberties and the American way of life. Do they not realize that idolizing and romanticizing che is in contradiction to the same freedom that enables them to display that flag at an American election office! Someone please make these people understand that working at an election office in the United States of America and simultaneously displaying a flag with che-guevara’s face is an abhorrent oxymoron. Che wanted to destroy the American way of life, he was a communist (an ideology that disregards individuality and creates sheep that cant think for themselves) Maybe that is the reason people idolize such a farce in modern history, they are already sheep who aren’t thinking for themselves. To all of you who support such an ideology, why don’t you actually practice what you preach? Move to a communist nation, give up all of your personal property to the state, (the upper class of communism), give up your rights, since communism seems to disregard such an idea and wait for instructions.
It is very easy to say that you believe in such an ideology when you don’t have to live by it. What is not easy is to disagree with the communist ideology in a communist nation. Doing so limits your options to these; oppose the ideology and be killed or imprisoned for it, be forced to live with it or risk your life to escape from it. All of which can destroy everything that you are.

Alfred M. Melchor a Cuban-American who’s family was forced out of their homes and country because they weren’t granted the right to have an opposing ideology.
