Hussein Obama says Bush’s tax cuts caused the economy to slow down. Good Lord, and this individual wants to be President?

A President who thinks lower taxes are a bad thing? And of course, he believes in Global Warming.

I cannot deal with the White House having a President named Hussein in it. I just can’t.

  2. Politically FED UP on February 29th, 2008 at 1:03 pm

Maybe John McCain doesn’t look so bad after all—-compared to Hillary Rodham Clinton or Barak Hussein Obama regarding this issue.

This is a short but poignant independent film on government sponsored healthcare in Canada but may be applied elsewhere within the contents of the subject matter.

Everyone who plans to vote for our new President in 2008 NEEDS to see this, regardless of the person for whom they would vote.

I recommend you find out where Hillary is staying on March 4th. If you have stock in that hotel or their insurance underwriter, I recommend you sell that stock before then.

#3 That’s right, because she is gonna be one angry bull when the results come in. She is gonna TRASH that room!

Actually, I might pay extra to stay in the room where the Hildebeast learned her fate, though. (Months from now, after it’s been dis-infected in case Bill was there….)

  5. Big45Iron on February 29th, 2008 at 1:30 pm

Mytur, the pictures of the room afterwards could be pinned up next to the pics of Dresden from WWII.

I was thinking the same thing

Is there a chance that Hildebeast will file a suit and possibly the Democratic Party will implode.

  9. RickG on February 29th, 2008 at 2:09 pm

    8, Dov

Wouldn’t it be great if they had a knock-down-drag-out at the convention, a la 1968?

  10. RickG on February 29th, 2008 at 2:11 pm

    6. Dave

Does that not reinforce that the Clintons will do anything - anything - to try and get their way? It would be such a shame, so terribly awful, a great tragedy, if the split was so bitter that a bunch of Hillary voters stayed at home in November (or at least voted for Nader).

  11. StacyE on February 29th, 2008 at 2:15 pm

I think I just saw a headline on Drudge that said rumors were she would sue over our delegate selection process.

I’d much rather see her graciously bow out and disappear from my life all together.

Yet, I don’t see that happening.

Anyone else disappointed that a Senator is going to be President?

  12. houstondem on February 29th, 2008 at 2:30 pm

Uh John McCain was against the tax cuts before he was for them. But don’t let the facts get in the way.

Maybe if you guys keep repeating HUSSEIN HUSSEIN HUSSEIN HUSSEIN HUSSEIN you will scare enough of the sheeple to help John “I’m a liberal” McCain win.

Oh and a quick lesson about Obama and taxes -
“Supports scaling back capital gains and dividends tax cuts and re-examining tax benefits for the top one percent of earners.”

    http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/candidates/barack.obama.html

Most of you guys will be spared from an increase in taxes. Except for BigJolly and Bramanti. I am sure they are multimillionaires.

#4 Yesterday, you’re tougher than me, I couldn’t do that, I’d think that it would be next to IMPOSSIBLE, to get the stench outta that room, BUTT it would be good to see the video, especially if Bubba was within range.

  14. NativeAmerican on February 29th, 2008 at 3:21 pm

#14 houdem: The list of people who would be paying for the tax increases on capital gains & dividends needs to be expanded to include everyone who invests in a 401(k) or is part of a retirement plan or otherwise invests in assets that increase in value over time.

The top 1% of taxpayers already pay a very high percentage of the overall tax bill. Why do you like to punish success so much?

  15. RickG on February 29th, 2008 at 3:22 pm

You’re here enough to know most of us are accepting McCain because we have to. However, it is more than clear that he is far more conservative than Obama, who is the most liberal Senator in the country.

Yeah, raise capital gains taxes and revoke tax cuts “for the rich.” That’s real smart economics. What it does is ultimately reduce economic production (real good timing, Obama) and actually result in lower tax collections in the long haul. This has been proved time and time again. I don’t know why Democrats have such a hard time with math. The proof is there.

But thanks for making the point that Obama will raise taxes. That’s certainly something voters need to know about.

  16. dcgirl on February 29th, 2008 at 3:30 pm

Houstondem - talk about sheeple!! Anyone that votes for Obama is either a nut or a moron.

  17. dcgirl on February 29th, 2008 at 3:30 pm

Rick is correct (#12). Even JFK figured that one out.

  18. american woman on February 29th, 2008 at 3:33 pm

  19. Robert 1 on February 29th, 2008 at 3:37 pm

I think it should be “Ding, Dong, the (W or B)itch is Almost Dead” is more appropriate. Although I would love to see a blood bath at the Dimwit Convention, I am also a firm believer in taking HELLary out because a wounded HELLary who lives to fight another day could cause havoc and actually win the Dimwit nomination. Knowing what HELLary and Bill can do scares me more than what “BO” might do. A “BO” presidency with no experience would take his full term to learn to play the Capital Hill game and that might be a good thing.

  20. Dov on February 29th, 2008 at 3:45 pm

If Hillary loses the nomination will she send Bill packing ? His Monica stunt is hurting her a bunch.

  21. houstondem on February 29th, 2008 at 4:09 pm

15 - It’s much smarter than tax cuts in a time of war. McCain was originally correct to voice his concern over the tax cuts.

“…actually result in lower tax collections in the long haul.” Well than shouldn’t a small govt conservative be in favor of that?

And the 2003-2007 upswing in the economy had more to do with cheap money and people using their homes as ATM’s than lower tax rates.

Yes Obama will raise taxes. But health care costs will decrease, college will be more affordable, the war in Iraq will end sooner…these will save the average American much more money.

Yes Obama will raise taxes. But health care costs will decrease, college will be more affordable, the war in Iraq will end sooner…these will save the average American much more money.

Obama will create the worst goverment bureaucracy in history (re health care) and costs will decrease? Only if he taxes us into submission. Then you can say, “health care costs decreased” while our taxes double. Same with college.

Why do you Democrats think you can spend more money without taking more money? What you are shying is that you will redistribute the income so that your constituencies pay less while the people who really produce in this country pay more.

    There’s a name for that . . . you know . . . c’mon….

  23. houstondem on February 29th, 2008 at 4:34 pm

22 - Anyone who make less than $200,000 would benefit under Obama. And there are pleny of hard working American well under that level. Hate to burst your bubble Rick but not everyone who supports Obama is a ‘welfare queen” with 7 kids from 6 different daddies.

  24. american woman on February 29th, 2008 at 4:36 pm

Obama’s speech I heard today was about feeding your kids breakfast before they go to school. Make sure your kids go to bed early so they will be ready for school. Know what your kids are doing and where they are. Amazing speech for a would be president.

  25. JohnBernardBooks on February 29th, 2008 at 4:37 pm

    23.

Anyone who make less than $200,000 would benefit under Obama.

You really believe that? Why, because he said so? Are you really claiming that everyone earning less than 200k a year would pay less taxes under Obama?

    A little independent thought, please.

  28. houstondem on February 29th, 2008 at 4:44 pm

25 - Or it’s possible I pay quite a bit in taxes but accept it as a reality of living in the best country in the world and wish not to have to pass on our enourmous debt to our kids…

  29. RickG on February 29th, 2008 at 4:44 pm

We know Obama’s for “real change.” That’s what scares us.

  30. Ken Kelley on February 29th, 2008 at 4:46 pm

    #21 houstondem —

“shouldn’t a small govt conservative be in favor of that[lower tax collections in the long haul]?”
First, we don’t have one of those in the race, any more. Second, the path to those lower tax collections would come at the price of a constricted economy and a loss of jobs.

Lower tax rates have demonstrated, time and time again, that the effect on the economy is positive in terms of job growth and overall tax collections. (Unfortunately, what usually happens is a further growth in Government spending, which is counterproductive to the original concept.)

And do not think for a moment that health care costs will decrease if the Government becomes the primary health care provider. Look at the history of ANY major economy, worldwide, as your point of reference. It might LOOK as if it costs less, but in actuality, everyone is paying more; it’s just buried deeply in the bureaucracy being paid by tax dollars, and it will take more tax dollars to fund it. Further, history demonstrates to us that before long, the supply of medical services will diminish, as will research in that field.

College becoming more affordable (by such artificial means) shows the same types of problems. The system would get clogged by people who have no genuine interest in being there, depriving the marketplace of qualified workers for blue-collar jobs, and therefore, Supply and Demand will drive up those costs thereby tending to diminish whatever savings otherwise thought to be achieved.

And as to the war in Iraq, I consider it very dangerous to make “ending soon” a primary consideration. I am not defending every decision which has been made, but both Korea and VietNam should have taught us that letting politicians run a war is a path to disaster.

    my 2¢,
    – Ken

  31. houstondem on February 29th, 2008 at 4:48 pm

27 - There would be no tax increases for the middle class and any increase in capital gains taxes would be offset by the decreases in the costs I mentioned earlier. This is basic math Rick, not calculus.

Everything can be paid for by rolling back the tax rate on the top 1% to the Clinton years and ending the war in Iraq.

If you can pull yourself away from Sean Hannity or Fox News for a minute or 2 read this - http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,23286149-2703,00.html

    31.

You keep ignoring everything that is said.

Increasing taxes will mean less economic growth and thus lower tax collections. Your model assumes that tax revenue would otherwise stay the same. It wouldn’t. Your model also assumes that spending would remain the same, just transferred. With a Democrate in power? What a joke. We can’t even do that with a Republican.

So your idea only works in fantasy land. And are you talking about recouping taxes from people retroactively for eight years?

  33. RickG on February 29th, 2008 at 4:52 pm

    31

By the way, I forgot to give a tip of the hat to the good old Democratic politics of class warfare.

Somebody asked you earlier why you dislike successful people? Is it just envy or are you a true socialist?

  34. JohnBernardBooks on February 29th, 2008 at 4:57 pm

HD did you read my post 50% of taxpayers pay NO taxes…why? is a progressive tax a punishment for sucess in America? Why not let them join the process…then dems have more for their feel good social programs.

  35. RickG on February 29th, 2008 at 4:58 pm

    31. HD

Since you’re here, let me ask you what you expect in terms of Dem gains, if any, in Harris County this year. I have been one who has said I think the GOP is in for a hard ride, even locally, in November (for example, judges). I can’t put numbers to it, but I think it will happen.

How do you read the tea leaves.

  36. Rastus on February 29th, 2008 at 5:05 pm

Hey, haven’t you heard the news - we’ve been saved - Ralph Nadar has entered the race again, so there is an alternative. No sweat.

  37. houstondem on February 29th, 2008 at 5:11 pm

30 - You make valid points Kelley. But let’s clarify a few things. Obama’s healthcare plan is NOT a traditional universal health care plan. You will still have choices and no one will force you to get coverage. His plan is based on reducing costs within the system (increased competition and more efficient technology) and preventive care.

As far college goes let the markets naturally work. If plumbing allows one to make $100 an hour well than you will see an increase in plumbers. If accounting becomes a $30,000 a year job, you will see a decrease in accountants. But people should have the opportunity to go to college for a relatively affordable price if they want. The reality is that we are getting our you know what handed to us by the Indians and Chinese when it comes to the engineering and technology based fields.

32 - This is too long to cut and paste but it proves me to be correct and you to be incorrect.

You cite a post on a blog and announce that you’re right? C’mon, HD you can do better than that.

Or do you think I can’t cite to the contrary?

By the way, if Bush’s tax cuts have had no effect, why has McCain now said he would make them permanent?

  39. houstondem on February 29th, 2008 at 5:18 pm

35 - I don’t expect the landslide you are expecting. But it is too early to make local predictions. Let’s see where things are come Sept/Oct.

  40. houstondem on February 29th, 2008 at 5:19 pm

38 - Simple, he needs the conservatives to come out en masse for him. To bad he will lose the Independent vote.

  41. RickG on February 29th, 2008 at 5:37 pm

    39.

I do know your county chairman is quite proud of the fact that there is a Dem on the ballot for every county seat. Obama may have some coattails in the urban areas. Don’t know if the rest of the county is enough to cancel them all out.

  42. jimb on February 29th, 2008 at 8:13 pm

What makes me laugh is that Dems (and a fair number of republicans, unfortunately) want to talk about “paying for” tax cuts.

You know how to “pay for” tax cuts?

    SPEND LESS MONEY!

The Republicans can’t seem to figure that out, by and large, and Dems will NEVER get that. As long as Obama runs on the envy platform (CEO’s make in 10 minutes what many Americans make all year, etc.), I will regard him as dangerous to my financial well being and even more so to my kids.

Health care has become a bureaucratic mess as it is. If government gets in the health care business full-bore, it will get worse AND cost more. I guarantee it.

  43. Mytur Bin Esderty on February 29th, 2008 at 10:44 pm

I used to wonder how Germany could have fallen under the spell of Adolf Hitler. Now that I’ve seen and heard from Hussein supporters, like Houstondem, now I know.

All it takes is someone who has good speaking ability and creates a target to hate. Hitler used the Jews, Hussein uses anyone who makes a decent living….
