And I think that, like me, you’ll decide she’s the best choice for Harris County DA. The runoff has gotten ugly, with both sides going negative. Interestingly, Ms. Siegler hasn’t taken that route - her supporters have. I think that they are missing out on a great opportunity to not only win the runoff but to have people excited about voting for her in the general election.
Her story is the classic small town American success story. Graduating at the top of her 44 person high school class, working hard to be the first person in her family to graduate from college (UT in 3 years) and becoming an attorney. Then sticking with the prosecutor’s office because “they help people”. It’s a shame her supporters would rather focus on her opponent.
So, I’m going to help them. Watch this first video to see her working the polls on election day, it will give you a sense of her work ethic and philosophy. (video produced by the Houston Chronicle)
Now watch her passion as she defends her office and her profession. This clip is from a debate sponsored by KHOU.
Tell people about her strengths and I think she’ll take this election in a cakewalk.

I’d point out that the first of these two videos was produced by chron.com. Happy to see that you found it useful.
Ooops…corrected.
Hey, thanks!
Sorry, BJ…I still have problems with: the total outting of the Lakeside Church members as jurors, a questionable relationship between her husband and her boss and finally the endorsement of the Houston Chronicle. All of these give me cause to question if she is really the right choice. Her qualifications look good, but she totes a lot of baggage. Just my opinion.
Yeah, I know wfish, I have a couple of problems myself. But none that make me think that in this race, there is a better candidate. Just my opinion.
And I think it would be a double loss if she were to lose. Not only would a less qualified person be the DA, we would lose her talent as a prosecutor.
Thanks, BJ, I do appreciate your input.
Seems a lot of races this year do not give us a lot of choices. We just have to pick the best from what we have offered… and then live with it. On a happier note, I’m outta here….Happy Easter Weekend to all.
From the 1st video:
Signs with directions to precinct voting locations written in Vietnamese! Please, this is America! English only!

Wait until the signs are in Vietnamese and Spanish
Outrageous - why isn’t she wearing a seat belt? Where’s the justice in this? You gotta be careful in this day and time.

I see Spanish signs at voting precincts all the time. How long before all these Fifth Columnists rise up and take over this country?
Big Jolly, I appreciate the sentiments and tone of your post but keep in mind who it was the started and has gone on record as promoting negative campaigning (Lykos). In every forum I’ve come across, the Siegler supporters are the ones using reason, logic, and trying to keep things positive. Then the Lykos shills start making their same innuendos, providing the same lies, and doing their best to sling mud just like their leader has suggested is the best way to win a campaign. Over time, this leads to most comments focusing on the negative aspect of Lykos since, let’s face it, she is the one bearing the brunt of her own extensive history.
If Lykos is unable to provide a positive message for her minions to spread forth, calling out those in the Siegler support camp for turning the tables so effectively is hardly fair. It’s gotten so bad that Lykos supporters have been going around tearing down Siegler’s campaign signs in the middle of the night, even one off the front yard of a police supervisor in my neighborhood (kind of a dangerous tactic if you ask me). While this kind of behavior happened before the primary, it has become much worse in recent weeks too.
But if you want a straight up list of Siegler’s positive attributes without my pointing out her opponents many, many flaws;
Siegler is experienced, talented, forthcoming, speaks her mind, works hard, believes in justice over personal political benefit, is not a career politician, has never run for office before, is the only candidate that can beat Bradford, knows what to fix and how to do it, has been the only candidate that has proposed functional changes, admits her mistakes without finding scapegoats, will not go on a witchhunt to route out political opponents regardless of qualifications, has the endorsement of most police officers and victim groups, is not a GOP political hack looking for a stepping stone position.
Want more???

I concur.
Go Kelly !
Chode,
I suppose we visit different websites. Yeah, I want more positive information on Ms. Siegler. And more often.
Focusing on her opponent does not help to overcome the hesitancy that people like me have in supporting her. Siegler has a huge upside - and a possible downside that concerns me. Focusing on who she is, where she came from, what she has accomplished has turned me into a supporter, helping me to understand that the downside isn’t as large as I had thought.
Negative campaigning plays straight into Lykos’s hand. She has no upside. She must convince people that Ms. Siegler is part of some corrupt atmosphere at the DA’s office. It’s a compelling argument because of the negative press surrounding the crime lab and several people that have been released after years of being incarcerated wrongly. It matters not that these perceptions are false and shouldn’t be connected to the DA’s office. They are connected and when both candidates talk in terms of “change”, it is easy to miss the fact that the “change” they are talking about is very, very different.
Ms. Siegler’s vision of “change” is in line with what actually needs to happen, as best as I can tell. Ms. Lykos’ change is in line with the popular perception. Thus when Ms. Siegler’s supporters continue to attack Ms. Lykos, it only serves to reinforce the idea that “change” must come from the outside. It matters not that Ms. Siegler’s “change” is right and positive - the message that is heard is negative. It cannot help Ms. Siegler for her supporters to continue push a negative message.
Just an opinion.
I honestly can’t figure out why y’all support this evil woman. She is mean, sexually harrassing, irreverent, and “goes for the kill” with evidence that she knows is fabricated.
I can’t believe y’all can’t see her horns!!!!!
She doesn’t obey laws. She has shunned rape victims, and has prosecuted — even with the death penalty— innocent people—all for a victory in the courtroom. And, where are the guilty? They’re on the streets, dear.
JUDGE LYKOS WAS ASKED BY THE REPUBLICAN PARTY OF HARRIS COUNTY TO RUN. Kelly was asked by Chuck Rosenthal to make sure the books are closed and his many crimes are not made public!!!!!!
WHAT AN OUTRAGE!!!!!
YOU GUYS MUST BE ASLEEP!!!! Seigler has been Rosenthal’s right hand woman for MANY years!!! She’s just as bad as him!!!!!
She says Rosenthal was “compromised” by prescription drugs for the last 6 years —but THEY WERE PRESCRIBED BY HER HUSBAND!!!!!!!
Judge Lykos DOES want change!!!
If she’s worried about losing her job, she obviously has things to hide, because the honest, hard-working members of the DA’s office will not have a problem keeping their jobs.
