Whoa Jeremy, you pack a wallop! I have to say, if someone is approaching me from behind, I am not concerned with their race or even their sex….. I’m just nervous whomever it is, is gonna whop me over the head and take my purse. I don’t think we have to hand Obama a shovel, he’s doing a great job digging his own hole.

This whole thing reminds me of a story one of my best friends told me. She and her husband, both white, adopted a biracial little girl. Mom wanted to find a support group so that she could better understand what her baby would face in school and how to better care for her. (For example, it turns out biracial hair is brittle, and Mom had to find special conditioners to take care of daughter’s “do”.) She walked into the room where the meeting was being held, and was met by a sea of confused black faces. “You must be in the wrong room,” Mom was told, whereupon she whipped out a picture of her daughter to prove that she was in the right place.

I don’t know how many of those meetings she went to. I didn’t hear about any after that first one. Mom had a good laugh, anyway.

Could you tell this kind of garbage chaps my typical white backside?

I’ve always despised B.O. because he is a leftist socialist. Now I despise him even more because he is nothing more than a small-minded, ignorant, Crook County racist socialist.

#3 yep Jeremy I caught that. Great post, we don’t hear enough from you.

  6. Big45Iron on March 21st, 2008 at 1:25 pm

We are just at the beginning of the Obama revelations. I’m sure though it won’t be long until we start hearing about Hillary’s cattle futures deal.

Just imagine if John McCain had attended Rev. David Duke’s church for 20 years, been married by him, had David Duke baptize his children, then came back and said he didn’t realize David Duke was a racist and saying all those things, but he still likes him anyway.

Glad you enjoyed it. I do miss contributing more, but time has gotten a bit more scarce for me. But when it comes to the “Audacity of Racism” I’ll make time for that.

“The Audacity of Racism” indeed! Good post, Panda Man! My lily-white tush is also severely chapped by Obama trying to convince us that Wright and the other black Afro-centrist activist rascists are just harmless “Uncles” letting off a little steam. Smooth talk and flowery prose do not counteract hateful, lying, fear-mongering actions!

I got to pipe in on this one…being married to the typical “White Devil” Mr. Panda Man has left me questioning my blackness. (Insert sarcasm here)

As always, hubby hits right on the point of what everyone with a brain is thinking. I think that it is a shame that in spite of all that is going on right now, people choose in this day and age to look at issues from a color standpoint. When are “my people” going to stand up and not wait for handouts and improve their communities in a positive way? It is time to stop making excuses, stop looking at Jesse and Al as Black leaders but as antagonists of racial hate.

Take Obama’s comments for what they really stand for. I have been the cause of irritation for many Black people when they chime in about how bad the White Man is and that they are being kept down. Ever think to pull up the pants (maybe wear something that fits and speak English) and try a belt? Out of basic common courtesy I’ll let someone finish forming their opinion and then I tell them I am married to a wonderful white man. I usually finish by commenting that I prayed for God to put the right mate in my life. He sent me Jeremy. Is He wrong because we are not matched in race? Then begins the recanting…

It makes me downright sick that folks are holding on to hope and change and not truth.

    The Audacity of Honey
The black bear has been oppressed by the white bear for too long! The typical white bear has certain reactions….

Sassy, I never did get by to bring my wife to meet you before we moved to Hawaii. Wish I had. Panda married way over his head, lol.

I think that many blacks are looking for a hero, not realizing the hero is the face in the mirror if they’ll just abide the 10 commandments and exercise common sense. I have a friend of mine who is a deacon at a Baptist church on the Missouri City/Houston border. My wife and I have been there several times for services. The pastor’s name is Rev. Walter August. When you go into their church, you can feel the love for everybody, and the welcome arms. You won’t hear any hate preached from that pulpit or anybody grabbing their crotch like Rev. Wright did. All you’ll hear are good day to day values. The minister that married my wife and I was black. We loved him simply for who he was. I don’t think that’s a message that gets through sufficiently from conservatives….that we simply don’t care what a person’s color is, only who they are. I think conservatives represent far more Dr. King’s ideal of “the content of their character, not the color of their skin”.

Conservatives would vote for Secretary Rice or General Powell or Walter Williams before they would vote for Hillary any day. I don’t agree with some of General Powell’s positions on issues. But I would trust the content of his character and common sense. I know he wouldn’t shame me as President. I know he wouldn’t look the other way at corruption.

We can all do better with putting up better leaders in our parties. But somebody who condones blatant racism, regardless of race, isn’t going to be tolerated by anybody.

I won’t be surprised if the first minority President is Bobby Jindal.

Someday the Panda family will embrace their brown bear brother’s and sisters. And why are there no yellow or red bears?

  19. Jeremy 'Panda Man' Weidenhof on March 21st, 2008 at 3:01 pm

    Sassy_sista here.

I am blocked from using lonestartimes at work. If I can get in, I get one hit per day. Is that any way to feed the conservative hunger? If it was CNN there would not be a problem, I am sure. Maybe I should lower my standards and pull the race card.

Thanks for the comments. Nice to know that there are still genuine people in the world in still like/love America and the people that are trying to keep her great.

  20. Dov on March 21st, 2008 at 3:27 pm

The typical white person is either male or female, short or tall, fat or skinny, with hair or bald, need I go on. But his use of “A typical white person” just shows his racist attitude.

How would he like it if someone said “The Typical Black person” BHO is gonna let his silver tounged mouth cost him greatly.

  21. Basara on March 21st, 2008 at 4:13 pm

Don’t you know Big? The red bear and the yellow bear were wiped out by the white bear.

Fortunately for the brown bear and the black bear, the white bear caused the earth to have a fever, melting their homes and drowning them.

Otherwise, who knows whom the evil white bear would have slaughtered next? :p

  22. retire05 on March 21st, 2008 at 4:39 pm

A friend, who I rarely get to see due to schedules, was married for 15 years and she and her husband could never have a child. So they decided to adopt. They went to Africa (forget what nation) did all the paperwork and came home with a beautiful daughter who looked nothing like them as she is very dark and they are blond/blue eyed. I asked her if it was a problem with her fellow church members in a multi-racial church that is between Waco and Dallas. She told me that most members were very supportive except for a few “black” members who asked her what right she and her husband had to adopt a black child. Little did she know, at the time, that she was pregnant.
Now the girls are 7 years old and have had to be put into a Christian school. My friend told me that the black kids are their school were brutal to their adopted daughter because of her “white” sister. So where is the racism coming from against a child that would have lived in abstract poverty without this Christian family adopting her?
    From the black community.

Obama says that his grandmother was a “typical” white person. OK. His father was a womanizer, a drunk, a religious apostate, had children spread across two continents with three wives that he bailed on and never supported. Can we call him a “typical” black person?

Look for the upcoming sale on the LST “Typical White Person” line of apparel. If Blackgirl and Sassy Sista wear their TWP t-shirts to Taste of Texas, they get a free meal - on me.

  24. Big45Iron on March 21st, 2008 at 6:23 pm

Texpat, I’m kinda beige….how long does that offer go?

  25. Big45Iron on March 21st, 2008 at 6:31 pm

Retire, that would just be playing the race card the other direction - and just as wrong. Since we know it’s not true, we shouldn’t go there or stereotype anybody. And I think that’s something ALL people tend to do is stereotype other groups. Everybody does it. The measure of our character is how we get past that and treat others one at a time. There are wonderful people and there are jerks in all races. We aren’t born with prejudices. We learn them. Once you’ve lived all over the world you learn pretty quick a smile and friendly tone in your voice breaks the ice everywhere. And there are evil people everywhere. And people within that group also fear those same evil people. There’s been enough studies that show when a black person is out at night and they hear footsteps behind them, they’re relieved when they see it’s a white person.

But that would depend on where they live. If it was a black person in a crime ridden neighborhood, they might fear anybody’s footsteps behind them, regardless of the racial makeup of that area.

All I know for sure is that the more we emphasize what we as a people have in common, and the less we concentrate on diversity, the faster we’ll become united as Americans.

    very funny, Squawk.

  27. semperloco on March 21st, 2008 at 9:23 pm

I’ve been thinking a bit about all this, letting my mind wander over it (hoping the little thing doesn’t get lost out here), and I want to add something I have not seen discussed: Other than the race-baiting shake-down artists, much of the division between the white and black folk is about misunderstanding. It is not a gap that easily bridged.

Mr Wright thinks lack of opportunity in the black community is because white people still see black folk as slave material. Frankly, I have heard way enough about how sorry we should be about slavery. That ended 150 years ago and it was the party that is primary being called racist that was chief mover of the civil rights acts of 1864 and 1964. If there is a slavery factor, it is continuing black rage about it even though the bloodiest and costliest war in American history was fought between white folks to end it. When there are congregations being taught that they are being kept down by whitey and they should rise up and rebel instead of educating themselves and accessing the opportunity that America offers, it is not white folks’ memory of slavery that is keeping black folk down, it is the hatred the white folk see looking back at them from dark eyes.

During the Duke Lacrosse fracas, mobs were out yelling, “NO JUSTICE - NO PEACE.” The stripper had lied. In fact, I heard that a woman is 28 times more likely to be raped by a black man than a white man. Correct me please if I am wrong. I do not want to be wrong about something like that. When the video of police beating Rodney King was released, the rioting, looting, and beatings by black mobs gained national attention. When was the last time you saw anything like that from white people?

The black community needs to clean up its act instead of blaming anyone else. Its illigitimacy rate is off the scale. Its children dress to look like they’ve been in prison. Black children who work hard and try to excel in school are harrassed and scorned by other black children for “acting white.” There is so much potential in these young minds, but they are too busy being taught to hate and distrust people of other races who are not their enemies.

  28. Big45Iron on March 21st, 2008 at 9:45 pm

Semper (former USMC?) long story short, black people need to become intolerant - of those within their community and leadership who don’t measure up. Criminals like William Jefferson and charlatans like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Jeremiah Wright have got to be told by Americans of African descent that they are no longer welcome are representatives of their community.

I keep saying it’s what we have in common that bind us as a people. Good values are the same for all people here in the USA. You can’t ignore that because of the amount of pigmentation in your skin, or lack of it. If you choose to live outside of those good value, you will be ostracized and not accepted, regardless of your color.

Racial pride is stupid. You were born a color. What you have accomplished in your life, what your parents accomplished, what your community or country has accomplished, those are things to be proud of. I wouldn’t be proud to be an American if it was merely a do nothing country. Pride comes from accomplishment, not the mere fact of existence. Deceit and lies, turning your back on evil, failing to achieve acceptable community standards: those are the things that destroy pride, engender fear, dissolve communities, create hopelessness, promote crime, and foment bigotry.
