Tell me this guy doesn’t have a prayer winning. Maybe they should pull up his suburb and see how many sex offenders live there. He may be elected.

Apparently, he did have much too much time on his hands when he was arrested, but no thank you to voting for him as the mayor of a large metroplex -bad behavior in the past is too much of an indication of future behavior.

Whatever happened to being convicted of a felony making you ineligible to run? Or was that just an urban legend?

  4. american woman on March 21st, 2008 at 2:09 pm

We have a new voting block, sex offenders. I wonder how the politicians can pander to them?

  5. Big45Iron on March 21st, 2008 at 2:45 pm

I wonder how many politicians should be amongst them!!

The mere fact that this clown is running is proof enough that our society is slowly going down the tubes. As little as 15 years ago he would have been shunned away into a life of isolation and shame. Now look.

Years ago when I had a repossession agency in Houston and Dallas I knew a flaky repoman that went to Dallas and ran for Justice of the Peace. I said Lanny you haven’t taken any law school. He said he didn’t have to because they send you to Judge school. He won,and they sent him to school.

Tarrant County has some weird happenings. If this sex offender perp runs he will only get the votes of the registered sex offenders.

Better a registered sex offender than an unregistered one (see New York for example).

AH, come on guys he’s trying to give back to the community and show he still has SOMETHING to offer.

He’ll also have a candy dish available for the younger citizens.

Sadly many officials have been sex offenders
    not all were convicted
none that I know of were registered sex offenders before election to public office

    #3 - wasn’t Marion Berry a convicted felon?

No… My family was up there, and the rumor was that a man on the jury, when the charge was read, first asked “Is it a felony?” When the answer was yes, absolutely nothing that the evidence or other jurors said would make the man change his vote of “not guilty.”

It is up to the reader to determine what the race of the reported juror was rumored to be.

On a different note: This guy is running for Mayor because we’ve already had a sex offender as president. Why not Mayor, as well?

obviously some see it different…When Steven Tyler’s daughter turned 16 he offered her to Mick Jagger as her gift……gives a whole new meaning to Father doesn’t it?

  14. luv2hammer on March 22nd, 2008 at 8:10 am

#13 Liv Tyler? Some guys have all the luck. Just take her to a state where the age of consent is 16. And there are plenty of them.

  15. american woman on March 22nd, 2008 at 8:45 am

Hey let’s leave my man outta this! Steven may not always have used good judgement, but what a guy!

Aren’t all Politicians sex offenders already? I mean, they screw us all the time…….

#13 - This sounds like an urban legend to me (and not a very believable on at that). Can you provide some sort of proof this actually happened?
