I’m with the weather guy too, Let’s sue Al Gore for fraud. As to John McCain, if one is a moderate to liberal, why wouldn’t one buy into the false weather science? Especially if one wants to appeal to liberals, and moderates. Also, somehow things always lead to money and power. What companies gain from the hardship we will endure, and how much will John McCain gain from the companies? I’m waiting for him to return from Iraq and say, I’ll pull out the troops by 2012.

  2. GoodJobTim on March 21st, 2008 at 6:47 am

With Obama or Clinton in office, Republicans in Congress-even being the minority-will fight global warming legislation vigorously. President McCain will pass this stuff no problem.

  3. GoodJobTim on March 21st, 2008 at 6:49 am

“President McCain”, ugh. Have you ever actually said that to yourself?

  4. TEX06 on March 21st, 2008 at 6:55 am

John McCain is the personification of the “Stupid” Party. He talks and acts stupid albeit with a little more class than Bush 43.

The “Criminal” party gives us even worse choices; Clintonian ice cold evil and the hate Whitey red hot modality of evil.

Maybe the realists of the country should vote for the third party of choice [after stocking up on ammunition]. As the Boy Scouts say [whom the ACLU hates] “Be Prepared”

Just my thoughts on Easter week end!

  5. american woman on March 21st, 2008 at 6:56 am

GJT, no, I haven’t. Ugh is right! It will be what it will be, however. It’s a long way to November. We might be saying President Obama.

  6. hamous on March 21st, 2008 at 7:11 am

We can overturn or repeal bad legislation down the road. It’s much harder to overturn a ruling of the SCOTUS and damn near impossible to overturn a SCOTUS confirmation.

  7. GoodJobTim on March 21st, 2008 at 7:22 am

I can be convinced that 1 or 2 liberal Justices will retire in a Democrat’s administration while the getting out is good and also “the” Irag withdrawal but overturning bad legislation, you’re kidding right?

Global warming legilation is very dangerous to this nation, a close second to SCOTUS issues.

  8. Adee on March 21st, 2008 at 7:50 am

Great leading question, Hamous. Where indeed is the heat? Ask the good folk in the states north of us how they’re enjoying this “mild” winter.
I’m with the Weather Channel guy also.

  9. hamous on March 21st, 2008 at 8:03 am

Global warming legilation is very dangerous to this nation, a close second to SCOTUS issues.

I agree it is very dangerous but if the Republicans ever get their crap together and take back congress legislation can be repealed. A Chuck Schumer pick on the Supreme Court lasts a lifetime.

  10. hamous on March 21st, 2008 at 8:08 am

One last thing before I head out for the day, in less than a decade the scientific community will come to a new consensus that there is no such thing as man-made global warming and all this will go away.

  11. american woman on March 21st, 2008 at 8:12 am

The thought of gorebull warming will go away, but the tax won’t. It will be named…… a new environmental b.s. tax and we pay forward.

  12. FourAlarm on March 21st, 2008 at 8:27 am

Anyone else have the feeling of dread when this glue horse opens his mouth?

  13. Mytur Bin Esderty on March 21st, 2008 at 8:41 am

Anyone who believes in man-made Global Warming is an idiot. It’s my first test to determine someone’s intelligence. If they believe in it, they are stupid in my book and I renounce any further contact with them.

  14. luv2hammer on March 21st, 2008 at 8:46 am

I’m not voting for McCain. You think you’re angry about Man-made Global Warming wait till he lets the illegal aliens stay and opens our borders.

These folks can be summed up in one word, “Traitors”.

  15. tedtam on March 21st, 2008 at 8:50 am

Is there a legal fund we can donate to? I’d love to be part of the impetus for this lawsuit. I wonder how to reach the weather guy and at least send an “attaboy!” letter.

  16. jimb on March 21st, 2008 at 9:29 am

Global warming legilation is very dangerous to this nation, a close second to SCOTUS issues.

LOL. I, too, agree that Global Warming legislation is dangerous and/or stupid, but c’mon. Next week when we’re back on illegal immigration or Second Amendment issues, THAT will be the issue that runs “close second to SCOTUS issues”!

Meaning: McCain will never be good enough for some people.

  17. jimb on March 21st, 2008 at 9:30 am

I do truly believe that for some of the people I’m listening to, Ronald Reagan himself would be thrown under the bus today if he was the presumptive Republican nominee for POTUS…

  18. luv2hammer on March 21st, 2008 at 9:35 am

Guess why the electrical rates are rising. Too cold of a winter.

McCain is not good for anyone. He will lead us to the path of financial and cultural ruin.

  21. tqs on March 21st, 2008 at 10:06 am

13 Man made global warming exists! It comes from DC and all the hot air bags that “work” there. Please don’t think I’m an idiot.

  23. Rastus on March 21st, 2008 at 10:36 am

If I vote for McCain and he’s elected, he will run around telling everyone he has “my” mandate to do all the crazy stuff he wants to do to make the Kennedys happy. The Rep in congress will be unable to repel any of his initiatives due to party loyalty considerations. However, if the evil one or the other one are elected, then at least the Reps can fight back - assuming of course that they don’t sit back and get comfortable in their long standing position of being the minority party. Overall, there does not appear to be a good option, but that’s what happens when we let the NY Times pick our candidate.

  24. pimlico on March 21st, 2008 at 10:38 am

I believe that we should get hold of McCain, sit him down and say the following: Senator, we expect you to continue your efforts on easrmarks and balance the buget with massive spending cuts. (which in turn will help the dollar and lower the price of oil). We expect you to close the border at Non-entry points. WE expect you to sift through the illegal population and deport the Criminals. ( right now, a LEGAL immigrant has more chance of deportation due to crime) We expect you to defend the Constitutioon 1st and foremost; remeber, the one you were tortured for? We want you to consider ways that The US may be more competitive (ie rebuild industrial base) if we have a consumption tax to replace the income tax. We do NOT need a President who puts internationalist thinking First……..We’ll get back to you…

Now “there you go again” Jimb. I don’t what you guys can’t get about conservatism being front and center of everything the guy said and did, and I don’t believe it would be different today.

  26. bob42 on March 21st, 2008 at 3:55 pm

Personally, I recognize the fact that climate is/has/and always will be dynamic, duh!

I remain very suspicious of premature conclusions of man-made influences on global averages, and do not accept for a nanosecond the notion that we have the understanding, much less the means to effectively manhandle climate.

Which put me in the minority again… Because what’s happening here is that your republican party leadership has seen a critical mass of public opinion swaying toward the global warming mania.

Since their survival depends on them casting in with popular opinion (regardless of facts) I suggest that climate “truthers” can not depend on the republican party to do the “right” thing on this issue.

  27. hamous on March 21st, 2008 at 4:45 pm

Can’t blame it on the party, bob. Of all the Republican candidates only McCain is on the global warming bandwagon and yet he’s the one voters have chosen. And I don’t buy this “He’s the NYT candidate”. All the DLWM had pronounced him toast late last summer. He’s the nominee because he got the most votes. Wish it weren’t so but it is.

  28. GoodJobTim on March 21st, 2008 at 5:17 pm

I think what happened was the moderate Republican had one candidate to go to once Rudy was out and the connservatives ended up splitting over Huck and Mitt. So I don’t think conservatism is as dead as it seemed, but we still have no candidate.

  29. GoodJobTim on March 21st, 2008 at 5:19 pm

    “Climate Truthers”. I like it.

Where’s the heat indeed. The forecast for Madison, WI tonight is 1-2″ of snow with flurries following. Might be a rerun of the March Easter when I was in college (early 1960s) and we went to church in a blizzard.

  32. Big45Iron on March 21st, 2008 at 9:17 pm

Moderator, it’s late, nobody will read this. Pretend the links aren’t there:

Why is it that the global warming on Mars never gets reported or blamed on humans?

    http://mars.jpl.nasa.gov/mgs/newsroom/20050920a.html

    http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/releases/2003/169.cfm

    or is it the dust?

    http://space.newscientist.com/article/dn11531-dust-blamed-for-warming-on-mars.html

Not to mention the snow storm we had here last month that closed down roads and had people out skiing here in Hawaii - at the same time they were having an international global warming conference here on Oahu, lol.

Forecast today for Madison is high 34, low 24 (20% chance snow); Sunday high 34 (30% chance snow), low 20; on Monday it rockets to 41. Wow what a lovely Easter weekend it will be up there.
