Have you voted yet? Early voting ends Friday at 7:00 pm. It’s fast and easy. I voted last evening and was the only voter in the building. Took less than 2 minutes from entering the building to leaving.
My ballot had four Republican runoff races:
- U.S. CD22 between the wacky, unpredictable Shelley Sekula Gibbs and Pete Olson.
- Harris County District Attorney between a qualified candidate, Kelly Siegler and a political hack that pays others to spew trash.
- 174th District Court Judge between appellate prosecutor Kevin Keating and Kay Bailey Hutchison endorsed Bill Moore.
- Justice of the Peace Precinct 8, Place 1 between Richard Risinger and a woman that paid for the same trash that the unqualified political hack in the DA’s race paid for.
Save some time and vote early!

On another topic, is there a way to find out how the non-binding resolutions fared?
Daniel, all the senate precincts submitted their approved resolutions Saturday. They go back to committee and the final decision is made at the state convention. The illegal immigration resolution has about 10 bullet points in it. They are all excellent. It will be interesting to see how they fare at state. I had nothing to do with that resolution!
I really have a problem with the runoff elections. We just had the election. I understand the issue of majority percentage, but the costs and the time to do all of this do not seem to be efficient. Is it fair for someone to get elected with less than 50%, of course not. I think they should have you vote for your 1-2 candidates and then they could move the votes after they pick the top 2 for runoff. Anything to avoid another election in which most folks do not try to vote in since it is not a major issue.
I think in my district I don’t have the opportunity to vote for Sigler.. so.. what the heck.. I’ll be walking by anyway..
I voted in District 22 yesterday, I hope Pete Olson wins but I’m betting that Shelley-Sekula-Rodrigues-Gibbs wins it. I’m real disappointed in Mike Richards who I thought was a Conservative, but can’t be. I don’t agree with Benzene and BigJolly that he is. Check the “Shelly is lying about Pete” on the other thread.
Just got back from voting.
(Had to double-check this thread to see if I voted for the right people!!!)
Did you?
I voted Monday at the Freeman Library in Clear Lake - no waiting at all. I heard from someone who voted today, and also had no waiting.
I hope people take the time to figure out where to go if they are waiting until the 8th to vote. My precinct voted with six others at Clear Brook HS for the primary, but the same seven precincts will be voting at the Forest Bend civic building for the run-off. If anyone shows up at Clear Brook at 6:55 PM, they’re going to be none too happy!
