To all you good folks in District 22 (DeLay country), if you haven’t already, please be sure to vote for Pete tomorrow. We just simply do not need another politician who will say anything to get a vote - and some of the things she (SSG) has been saying are just out and out lies - there’s just no other way to say it.

    aight…

When y’all go vote tomorrow, keep this one thing in mind- With one stroke of a pen, my company, which provided my livelihood, Was run out of business by Shelly SUCKula Gibbs.

I used to do lighting, sound, and video in night clubs around Houston. When she rammed her anti-smoking law through, and it went into effect, night club business dropped significantly overnight. Those were the people who used to pay me to do my thing, and when their businesses dropped badly, they quit calling me because they couldn’t afford me and my services anymore.

I moved to Vegas to start over (it sucks there- stay where you are if you want to move there).

So, I blame SUCKula Gibbs and the rest of those f^%$%$g IDIOTS on City Council for once again wrecking my life.

I wish you could sue people for the actions they take while in office… There would be nothing better than hitting her with a multi million dollar lawsuit for lost business her Nanny State laws has caused for all the people who depend on the night club industry for their livelihoods…

    The lesson here?

    GO VOTE FOR OLSON, DAMNIT!

    #2 Al:
What?! Surely you jest. That thing about prohibiting smoking in public places — wouldn’t that be an abridgement of that silly little something about property rights? (What is that? Fourth Amendment?)

You don’t have to smoke, you don’t have to want to breathe second-hand smoke; dammit, just GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

    Personal responsibility, what a concept.

And, of course, 2 of 6 points were about Dan.

That’s the KDAN radio we all know. :)

O.K. I’m District 22, not Delay country but Clear Lake; I was in the Lamp Post’s District (Beaumont) until the redistricting came along. Ted Poe (Montgomery County) has Beaumont?!?! So I’m represented by Beaumont first and Katy now?!?! In Alabama we call that Gerrymandering. Anywho we’ve already voted for Siegel and Pete Olsen, had a BIG argument with the Big Jolly last Friday about Mike Richards endorsement of Shelly too many names, I still say that Mike Richards knows better, he sounds like the folks in Austin that Dan B!tches about, anything to get along with the party, the grass roots folks be Damned! Go back and read Friday’s Open Comment’s Thread because I’m way too tarred to do that again. BJ NEVER did show that Pete Olsen was for the T.T.C. but he kept using that as an excuse to say that I was slandering Mike, I was ONLY speaking the TRUTH, and he knows it!…Soap Box put away, but if Pete gets beat, we’ll have 10-12 years ok KBH the second! Mike Richards knows better.

    My #5 Dang-Dammit That would be 10-20 years not 10-12. That’s if we’re lucky!!

Tourism is down here in Hawaii since they banned smoking just about everywhere except your home.

If you know any Repubs in the seven precincts that voted at Clear Brook HS in March (Friendswood area), please send them to the Forest Bend Civic Building at 4300 Laura Lee Lane on Tuesday. I’m just about convinced there’s a vast some sort of conspiracy at the HC Clerk office. They’ve been unable to correct the spelling of the street name on their website, and then they tried to deliver the ESlates to someplace called Forest Cove. I’m pretty certain to have lots of angry folks.

    Dave D,

BJ NEVER did show that Pete Olsen was for the T.T.C.

Bullspit. Try reading what I wrote. Facts are tricky things, aren’t they? You can ignore them but they are still facts.

    2 Al,

You gottta be kidding! You don’t suppose tourism and bar patronage just might be impacted by the current state of the economy?

I know that I have started buying my booze by the bottle at my favorite discount liquor store and having my adult beverage at home, rather than pay for the luxury of getting an overpriced drink at a bar.

I will also be taking a “Stay-cation” this year on my backyard deck to conserve money.

    I don’t believe I am alone.

I am sorry to hear about your business downturn, but you have company. It is called a recession.

Big, I love you man, but I have to side with Dave on that one. Besides, I believe (I hope, I hope) that the TTC is “dead at the scene” and any politician who pushes it now just has a death wish of their own.

Also, like a whole lot of other conservative folks, I am EXTREMELY disappointed with Mike Richards. My own private theory is that someone somewhere called in a favor.

  12. little mike on April 8th, 2008 at 10:29 am

    Hmmm…. OK

I was in shock from hearing Mike Richards endorsement of SSG on the radio yesterday.

#11 Texkraut - Your theory seems plausible.

    I’m disappointed too.

The whole Shelley and Pete drama has been interesting. Anyone with a functional brain realized that Pete “returned home” to run for Congress…which his right. He could have moved to the 14th District and ran there if he so wanted. It is a matter of where he was told he had the better chance of winning. He choose wisely. Let’s not forget that this is politics…truth and honesty go first…the sad thing that Dan Patrick just didn’t come right out and the guy. Wishy-washy doesn’t look good on Dan. This is Texan1953…and I approved this entry.

  14. Al Williams on April 8th, 2008 at 1:37 pm

    I know this is yesterday’s stuff, but…

Previous city councils already killed tourism in this city with the hotel/rental car taxes to build Enron and Reliant (and the changes in laws in the t!tty bars didn’t help), so now all the conventions that once came here now go to Dallas, Orlando, or Vegas.

The only clubs tourists went to were the strip clubs, and those were hurt big time.

  15. LTC on April 8th, 2008 at 5:46 pm

    If Olson said

    …he lives in Dan’s district

    …voted for Dan

    …listens to KSEV

then there may be evidence to suspect that Dan may have “endorsed” Olson

  16. sdhook on April 9th, 2008 at 7:56 am

#4, #15 lol. The “practically” would have turned to “heartily” if it had been 4 of 6 reasons had “I” or “me” in them. Or had run a few more ads on KSEV stating #15.
