I just looked up my address, and there is another person registered at my home address in addition to me.

  2. Matt Bramanti on April 8th, 2008 at 12:36 pm

Hey, mine too! If she agrees to sleep with me, I won’t turn her in to the authorities.

  3. Kyle on April 8th, 2008 at 12:56 pm

I took an early lunch break to go vote, waaaaaay out off 290 (halfway to Hempstead). The Republican workers reported they’d had a slow but steady flow today, and were already well over a hundred. One of the Democrats at the other table was trying to entice some of the voters from our line to come over to vote on their side of the room. “Quick and easy, no waiting at all!” The other Dem worker appeared just about ready to start snoring. Apparently they hadn’t yet had enough voters to count on one hand today.

  4. TexKraut on April 8th, 2008 at 1:09 pm

Duhmoose and Matt, where did you look up that information? I’m sure others will want to know as well. Thanks.

  5. Rorschach on April 8th, 2008 at 1:26 pm

Don’t forget to vote early and vote often! We have Democrats to catch up to after all…..

  6. Rorschach on April 8th, 2008 at 1:28 pm

Kyle, I’d be suprised if they could count at all… counting has never been a strong point for Democrats.

  7. Ken Kelley on April 8th, 2008 at 1:44 pm

    #3, Kyle:
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Doesn’t that (I suppose I should insert “alleged”) enticement constitute politicking, well within the limit prohibited by law?

    Hmmmm.

  8. duhmoose on April 8th, 2008 at 1:44 pm

TexKraut, go to http://www.harrisvotes.com , enter your address and it will tell you all the registered voters at your address. Apparently, the female who is registered at my house is a Republican.

  9. raiderdav on April 8th, 2008 at 1:49 pm

I did my early voting last week - I’ve never seen such a short ballot. But just to be safe, I made sure to bring along my copy of the Link Letter so I’d be sure I was voting against all the people that were endorsed by Lowry.

  10. Rorschach on April 8th, 2008 at 1:56 pm

Duhmoose, at least somebody in your household is in their right mind….

  11. dowjones4k on April 8th, 2008 at 2:12 pm

you’all go and vote for the least pooh pooh candidate and get more of the pooh pooh we have received lately by the state and local governments.

  12. jimb on April 8th, 2008 at 2:16 pm

Or you could skip the box or not vote at all, and teach those ba$tard$ a REAL lesson!

  13. Meglet on April 8th, 2008 at 2:25 pm

    Nice jimb. ;)

  14. Maltboy! on April 8th, 2008 at 2:43 pm

I voted in the Galveston County Republican primary today. There are only three polling places for the whole county and only 52 people had voted at my location as of 2:00. Of course that doesn’t include early voting.

  15. DeepPurple on April 8th, 2008 at 2:44 pm

Where can we find the early voting returns? Or is it too early?

  16. Rorschach on April 8th, 2008 at 2:58 pm

#15 DP, they won’t release that data until after the polls close.

  17. tqs on April 8th, 2008 at 3:22 pm

Does anyone know the link for Montgomery County? I voted this am they said it was slow to steady.

All this time you’ve been looking for a wife and she’s been there all along.

“you’all go and vote for the least pooh pooh candidate and get more of the pooh pooh we have received lately by the state and local governments.”

Although you have a point, the huge question left hanging, by your suggestion, is what we should do, otherwise. If the choices are the big pile of crap vs the small pile of crap, which one should we choose to clean up?

The “stay home and let somebody else make the choice” option does not lead to a desired result.

Democracy is not a spectator sport.

  20. dowjones4k on April 8th, 2008 at 5:38 pm

ken i choose to get the crap out there as soon as possible. the cleanup will start sooner that away.

  21. LTC on April 8th, 2008 at 6:07 pm

It would be interesting if there were an exit poll on how members of Lakewood Church voted

  22. jimb on April 8th, 2008 at 6:55 pm

the cleanup will start sooner that away

That’s a pipedream. All you’re teaching Republicans to do is to move left. Sorry. Squawk, apoloties to you too. That’s just the way it is…

  23. Golden Adam on April 8th, 2008 at 7:36 pm

Once again…no love for Montgomery County. I guess there weren’t really any “cool” run-offs to vote in up this way. I did have a friend of a friend’s brother-in-law running for a county judge, but LST does not care. I’ll be crying in the car if anyone needs me.

  24. Cajun Maverick on April 8th, 2008 at 8:01 pm

#17 and #23 I was a poll worker in Precinct 3 Montgomery County. We had 4 Republican positions and 1 Democrat (Railroad Commish). There was only ONE Democrat to vote… at 6:50!

  25. Dov on April 8th, 2008 at 8:16 pm

Nope it ain’t a spectator sport. I just got in from late “voten” for Kelly. I hope my vote is the one that counts and defeats lYkos (intentional)

The sign on the doors with the rules on it had someone write on it that 42 democrats voted in our runoff ? I hope they ain’t libs.

    Vote early and vote often.

  26. BigJolly on April 8th, 2008 at 8:21 pm

    Golden Adam,

The way it works is…you gotta let us know. ;-(

  27. BigJolly on April 8th, 2008 at 8:22 pm

I hope the early returns (16% via Chron) are not indicative of the way the DA’s race is going to go.

  28. LTC on April 8th, 2008 at 9:01 pm

Wonder if there is an increase in smears and attacks after early voting increases since those who voted cannot change their votes or vote again
and to “stir those not shaken” that have not voted

It would be interesting exit poll to find out how many who voted for Siegler would vote for Bradford if Siegler lost or those who voted for Lykos would vote for Bradford if Lykos lost.

  29. Cajun Maverick on April 8th, 2008 at 9:15 pm

Looks like the Chronical is calling it for Pete.

  30. Dave D on April 8th, 2008 at 9:29 pm

Well, Bigjolly, it looks like your Gal lost, Pete Olson is going to take CD 22. At least he has a very good chance of taking out the LampPost. I WOULD NOT have voted for Shelly too many names, hoping to wait two years and find a real conservative. But Pat Lykos will be the next DA of Harris County, so you and Mike have at least one of your insiders elected. Ya’ll’s blind allegiance to the party, trumps all us Grass-Roots white trash, out here in the backwater.

  31. hamous on April 8th, 2008 at 9:59 pm

Dave D, you do realize that bigjolly publicly supported Olson AND Siegler, right?

  32. jimb on April 8th, 2008 at 10:09 pm

Lykos won? I give up. People don’t want the right person in office.

  33. Simple Simon on April 8th, 2008 at 10:17 pm

    32,

Well, at least he got that W.T. part correct.

    Simple

  34. Simple Simon on April 8th, 2008 at 10:23 pm

    To All,

Anybody want to start a pool on how long it takes Ms Seiglar to go into private practice and begin representing dirtbags with the same zeal she prosecuted them.

    Simple

  35. Dave D on April 8th, 2008 at 10:31 pm

#31 hamous, yes of course! I was just pulling his chain! His blind support of Mike Richards, (who supported Shelly because it was her turn in the queue) just bothered me. If she had won, she could be there many years. I’ll put on the ole’ Haz-Mat suite and vote for Mc Cain, BUT I will not vote for Shelly. I’ve had the LampPost in my district for many years, every since Jack Brooks was thrown out of office because of his endorsement of the Brady Bill back I the 90’s. Steve Stockman sat for 2 years and the DemoncRATs threw all their Union money behind the LampPost and he got elected,
The point is that it’s more important to elect the right person than to tow the party line.

  36. Dave D on April 8th, 2008 at 10:34 pm

#34 simple, I would hope not! After all these years of seeing the Victims of crime, I seriously doubt it. But who knows?

  37. Adee on April 8th, 2008 at 10:45 pm

Pete Olson will go against Nick Lampson in November. As of news time his lead was two to one and he’d been declared the winner.

Dist. 22 is a trophy for the Dems and they will campaign hard to keep it. Pete will surely have lots of support to challenge that. Guess I can take down Pete’s yard sign until fall.

You’re right. That is why McStain is the repub nominee for prez and not Duncan Hunter or Tancredo.

The Goebbels Stream Media picks the candidates and then pretends the people have a say in the process.

  39. Dave D on April 8th, 2008 at 10:54 pm

#37 Adee, not to worry, this is a Republican district now and I’m pretty sure that he’ll pull it off. Remember he beat a known identity, lots of name recognition, in a run-off. Most folks don’t go to the trouble to vote in a run-off. That tells me that the passion will still be there in November. Read my #35, I WOULD NOT have voted for Shelly, I’d hope that she would lose and we could beat her in two years. If she won she would be there forever, that is what I could NOT get across to BigJolly!

  40. Phil_M on April 8th, 2008 at 11:30 pm

    My thoughts on this evening…

    1. I’d like to say we’ve seen the end of SSG, but don’t count on it. She’s a perennial candidate and will be back…trying to get herself elected to something, anything, that will add another title to her masthead. She’s basically our Chris Bell with a dash of Sheila Jackson Lee thrown in.

    2. I hope somebody unleashes the Texas Ethics Commission on Terry Lowry for operating an illegal PAC, and I hope Kelly Siegler sues him for libel and takes him to the cleaners.

    3. I hope HCRP will consider taking action to expunge the odious Lowry from its ranks, as well as Bob Pelfry for using his deceptively titled PAC to scam voters…again…as he did 2 years ago…and will do 2 years from now if allowed. Unfortunately, both would require Jared Woodfill to join the world of vertebrates and that simply isn’t going to happen.

I only have one thing to say and that is your relentless harping about BigJolly defending Mike Richard’s decision to back Sekula-Gibbs in the runoff is absurd and ridiculous. BigJolly, like Mike Richards, is a man of integrity and honor and I take it personally that you seem incapable of granting either one of them the right and privilege to hold an opinion which differs from your own. It is really time you grew up and became a man about this sort thing. The harangue and baseless criticism is beyond the pale for anyone of maturity and it has reached a point I am no longer willing to tolerate in silence.

I consider both of these men to be my friends and I do not believe a continual assault on their character is justified by the circumstances or warranted by their statements or deeds. I will not stand by any longer while you hurl baseless insults at either one of them. Cease and desist, bubba.
