ST Concerning your post yesterday about Mexico, #70, you are right. We shall from this day forward call it the Pablo Escobar highway. People won’t know what we are talking about, but then we can tell them. Excellent idea.
I like how our side aren’t always apoligists for the candidates. Just saw Fox try to box Fred Thompson in on McCain’s less than conservative views. He says hey we don’t always agree, we campaigned against each other, if you want the perfect candidate, he’s no longer out there. LOL.
Houston is so dangerous, insurance companies will not allow some of their jewelry salesmen to stop here. We’ve had four jewelry salesmen robbed in the past few days.Millions have been stolen.
if you want the perfect candidate, he’s no longer out there. LOL.
I’d love to hear when there ever WAS one?????
I bet it was entertaining trying to watch em ‘box Fred in’…………he doesn’t strike me as ‘boxinnable’……which is a big part of why I was very hopeful Fred would’ve run much harder and we’d be discussing his foibles now as opposed to McCain’s…………
Thank you AW for the Thompson link. Glad to have his views published again. As was predicted in a conservative column (forget whose) shortly after he dropped out of the primary campaign, it is late Spring and the populace sorely misses his thoughtful commentary in the midst of great distress over the presumptive nominee.
I shall happily write in Fred Thompson in November.

LED light bulbs are the future. They should drop dramatically in price as production gets tooled up. I bought a couple of LED flashlights a while back; the batteries last forever, so they clearly use less energy. They also run much cooler. I bought some CFL bulbs for my kitchen because a friend put some in his and noticed the temp in the kitchen was much cooler.
Another cool thing (no pun intended) is that LED bulbs can be manufactured with red, blue, & green LEDs so that you can adjust the color of the light from the warm incandescent color to the bluer daylight color, depending on preference.
They’ll have to get a lot cheaper before they get more popular.
Now that I’ve vented, good morning all. Delightfully cool (64) again, rain overnight missed us but we got .20 yesterday. Must be grateful for that.
Blue/gray overcast and a light northerly breeze make this a wonderful morning and respite from Summer’s inexorable march. Spouse’s mug of coffee is especially delightfully pungent today as only cooler temps can make it. My mug of hot chocolate likewise hits the spot. Sadly, the stock of delicious hot chocolate mixes dwindles although more is readily available through the magic of a web site. Somehow ordering more now seems slightly silly, but it won’t come September.
This overcast is welcome and not the least gloomy. Soon sunny, hot summer days for weeks at a time will have us yearning for a whole cloudy day, not just one partly visited by passing seabreeze thunderstorms.
It’s nice to see that despite what the liberal media and the Dimwits say about the insignifiance of the remainder of the Bush administration that he can make a speech in Isreal that would cause such a firestorm back here. The President shoot down “BO”s contention that we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals. To “BO” and the rest of the Dimwits, how do you negotiate with people whose only desire is to see you dead, not on the face of this earth, dead. What can you possibly offer to appease them. They don’t want you isolated, they want you DEAD!!!! What are the negotiation points if DEATH is the only option on one side and peace on the other.
22: KUDOS to George for standing up (fianlly)–Too bad he waited until now to tellt eh pantywaiste, cut-n-run, “can’t we just talk” dhimmicrats that appeasement doesn’t work and you can’t get credance to terrorists and criminals.

The most interesting result was all the Democrats’ squeals that he shouldn’t make such baldly political comments, especially abroad when he didn’t mention any of them. He only mentioned the (true) statement by some senator in 1939 that if only he could have talked to Hitler, the invasion of Poland might have been prevented.
NA; 24: Yeah and forgot about, Pelosi, Carter, et al going to Syriah, Hammas and et al; and BHO specific statement he’d meet with Chavez, Imafrikkindinnerjacket, Raul Castro, et al

Also, one of O’bama’s campaign minions was actually talking with Hezbollah in Syria in the last couple of weeks (just before they took over most of Lebanon again, IIRC).
Just because McCain will appoint judges, doesn’t mean the ruling Democratic party will APPROVE them, or any liberal judges will step down while he is POTUS. HE WILL CAVE to the Democrats. His record clearly states the “under the bushes” dealings.
No thanks. I feel that the Republicans will lose again this election. They didn’t get the message last time around.
Oh and McCain wont? I guess you are the only person that he’s given his personal assurance he wont wander across the aisle when it comes to appointing judges.
Just popping in quickly before I must run an errand (have already run two this morning!).
Handsome Son told me of an incident in his science class yesterday as we were returning from yet ANOTHER basketball practice. The poor kid has already had to sit through two - count ‘em TWO - showings of Al Gore’s monstrosity of a “movie”. That frustrates him to death. Then, yesterday his science class were discussing the earthquakes in China. Some girl in the class popped up with “Oh, Miss ________, this is because of global warming! We must all change our light bulbs and…”
In amazement, I said to Handsome, “Handsome, plate tectonics have NOTHING to do with global warming!” “I KNOW, Mom! But I don’t know what to say!” he replied. (Remember - not only is he facing authority figures with twisted minds here, but he has a learning disability which hinders his ability to coherently organize his thoughts and comunicate them to others, especially when under stress.)
I am trying to figure out how to phrase the letter to his principal. I would like to provide scientific references and documentation. If any of you can help me, I would appreciate it, since my time is very valuable. (That explains why some days you don’t hear from me.)
At least there is a chance of getting a conservative judiciary with McCain. There will be a zero chance with Obama or Clinton. The people will they put on the bench will still be there when you depart this earth.
34: Get with me this weekend, I’ve got a wealth of studies and stuff that will take them down a notch or two–of course, they’d have to shut up long enough to listen instead fo shouting him down.
#29 ST, the republican party has more than earned its loss this fall. It’s a sad no win situation for the voters. If McCain wins, it will only reinforce the same rino machine that nominated him. And of course, if Obama wins, the world will immediately cease to exist.
The party will not try to sell McLiberal based on his positive points, it will try to scare people into voting against Obama. And why not? It’s worked quite well for them before.
McCain has already stated that he would appoint judges like Roberts and Alito. Judges he may present to be appointed may not be as conservative as Scalia but those he would put forth would be a far cry from a Stevens, Marshal, Blackmun, Ginsburg or powell.
Oh Big Jolly, at least its better than having to say President Obama and President Clinton Again!
Reply to No. 24: If President Bush didn’t mention any of the current Dimwits, they why are they so riled up. Could it be that “the truth hurts”?? Look, can anyone tell us what the terrorist want except our death, our elimination from the face of this earth?? It’s not like they want to stay in their own territory and we stay in ours, they want us dead, period!!!!
i will not vote for john mc cain. i will not vote for john mc cain. i will not vote for john mc cain. i will not vote for john mc caini will not vote for john mc cain. i will not vote for john mc cain. i will not vote for john mc cain. i will not vote for john mc cain.

Exactly. That’s the really funny part about all this. Well, funny if it weren’t so serious.
It’s one thing to negotiate with a serious party, especially an actual country over a trade dispute where a mutually acceptable resolution can likely be found. I can’t see any room for negotiation where one party wants the other to be dead. I mean it’s not like we can find middle ground like “OK, we’ll let you kill half of us.”
As another example of O’bama’s naivete, he thinks we should talk at the presidential level with Ahmad’sanutjob, because “we must communicate with those who disagree with us” as if that’s the only way to talk with another country. We DO communicate with the govt of Iran now, semi-officially through the Swiss (or Canadian, I think) embassy, and unofficially in the open media.
Here’s a list of 195 major corporations that scored 100% on the Human Rights Campaign’s Equality Index. The index is based on factors such as non discrimination policies, diversity training and benefits for domestic partners, both heterosexual and homosexual.
The number of companies with a perfect score increased over 40% from the 2006 list.
#55 I figured I’d just post the facts and let folks do with them what they wish. Personally, as a libertarian I strongly support gun rights for gays and will again participate in some of the family friendly activities at Houston Pride Festival next month.
When my employer started offering equal benefits same sex couples in 1993, they explained that the decision to do so was financial (GLBTs spend money too…) and part of an HR policy designed to attract and keep talented and effective employees.
bob, I’m not reallly that baaaad, just wish they were back in the closet–out of sight, out of mind–so I don’t even have to think or specifically, hear them, changing my rights. Oh well, there’s little we can do to stop the secularism and reqriting of the heritage of our country and lives. I just won’t join them or like what’s happening.
I don’t mind if they’re in our out of the closet. I just wish the “we’re here, we’re queer, get used to it” in-your-face homosexuals would just calm down. They don’t seem to realize that if they would just shut up, almost everybody would treat them like they do everyone else.
I figured you were just joking, Kent. I have yet to hear a compelling argument to support the continued discrimination against same sex couples, or one that demonstrates how affording them the same rights and privileges enjoyed by married couples would in any way damage heterosexuals, or society as a whole.
I recently met a very nice lesbian couple, one of which served two tours in Iraq. Had she been “out” she would not have been permitted to serve her country.
Reply to No. 51 and 53: Let’s see the meaning of “Appease”–satisfy when hostile or demanding.
So “BO” wants to talk or negotiate with the terrorists, militants or wacked out countries because they are so SENSIBLE and UNDERSTANDING. So the “Top Ten” list of concessions or negotiating points he might offer that they might want are: Maybe we could…..
1) kill ourselves and save them the trouble.
2) let more of the terrorist into our country.
3) train and/or educate their militants.
4) retreat to our own borders, for right now.
5) adopt Islam as our only religion.
6) reverse our western ways.
7) deindustrialize our country to get down to their level.
recognize them as a borderless, non-country with no single leader.
9) help them destroy Isreal, as a show of faith.
10) kill all the Jewish people in this country.
And what does “BO” get in return. He gets to live longer because he is Muslim.
bob: I don’t care if they get what they need, use civil partnership, whatever–just do NOT redefine marriage, dammit. It is the joining of a man and woman–has been for over a thousand years. I want them to have the legal protections and benefits if they are truly “married”, but don’t use MARRIED as the term. Can anyone understand that?
Bobby: understood, just what they want–won’t be much fun at the beach–I’ve seen the burkini, but the women incidences of skin cancer should be reduced once they’re all indoctrinated into the proper role of women and their proer dress. Of course, we won’t have to worry about GLBTs any longer–they’ll be the first to be executed in the Stadiums, then Hollywood, then…
There’s also an online quiz that I came across some time ago…I’m going to try to find it again. If anyone else has a favorite anti-MMGW site, I’d love to take a look at it.
TT: DJew get the email and links here? Hope they help, I have a lot of info if he’s intersted, I’ll get with you tomale with it all–hope you got bandwidth at home.
#27 What is this man thinking! I have never heard of this. I knew Hickman had judgment problems, because he cannot separate his private life from business in other areas, but to do this…….. I am sure he makes his men so proud.
I just bought the Swindle video on Amazon, along with two other books that looked promising. Still gathering info - I hope to give this letter to the principal shortly before school closes (or maybe after, to ensure that grades are not affected).
Here is my funny for everyone and Malcolm before I go to work…..
SISTER MARY ANN’S GASOLINE
Sister Mary Ann, who worked for a home health agency, was out making her rounds visiting homebound patients when she ran out of gas. As luck would have it, an Texaco Gasoline station was just a block away. She walked to the station to borrow a gas can and buy some gas. The attendant told her that the only gas can he owned had been loaned out, but she could wait until it was returned. Since Sister Mary Ann was on the way to see a patient, she decided not to wait and walked back to her car. She looked for something in her car that she could fill with gas and spotted the bedpan she was taking to the patient. Always resourceful, Sister Mary Ann carried the bedpan to the station, filled it with gasoline, and carried the full bedpan back to her car. As she was pouring the gas into her tank, two Baptists watched from across the street. One of them turned to the other and said, ‘If it starts, I’m turning Catholic.’
Please keep my 91 year old mama in your prayers. She took a tumble this morning is now in the hospital. Thanks in advance. Will update when we find something out.
She is like a Timex. Takes a licking and keeps on ticking, but I’m scared this time.
SS: I hate the Kinky arguement–if you’re not happy in your marriage it’s your fault and someone need to do something.
Dems quote the divorce % from the 70s, it’s not 50% or close.
Marriage is Marriage, man & woman, tradition, history and precedence has to count for something in this twisted world–leave us one thing without changing its meaning, dammit.
You’ll never convince liberatarians that homosexuality and drug use aren’t detrimental to society. So there is no sense in trying to debate the issue.
Societal views on various behaviors have and will change from community to community, and over time. God’s view on those behaviors does not change though. You can choose to live with or without God’s word on social behaviors, just as you can choose to obey or not obey laws dealing with social behavior.
But while you might escape judgment in this life, you won’t escape judgment in the next. That is not saying that God is not lenient and forgiving. He most certain is and will take your whole life into account.
But as you have a right to support and try to advance immoral behaviors, we have a right to oppose them and try to legislate against them.
Immorality may win for a while, but in the end, God always wins.
Big45–I know, I know, they’re so….libritarian. Everything is okay as long as it doesn’t actually hurt me specifically. I just want my life let alone, don’t want my thoughts changed, I’m happy being who I am and how I think.
See, it’s also, similar to BHO, he says he’s going to change America and bring everyone together—-so, his premise is, that I’m going to wake up on Nov. 6th and believe in Abortion, gun control, gay marriage, activist liberal justices, etc. et al–or is he going to do a 180 and come to my side–how’s his plan going to work to bring everyone to his thoughts of unity and togetherness. Somebody is going to have to change–does anyone at all think he’s going to change his beliefs, views or voting record?
So, disgruntled Repubs–has anyone else gone to the
NRCC and posted on the blogs–sounds pretty much like us in here and over yonder–if not go and let loose–maybe somebody will actually red them–they certainly won’t come here.http://www.nrcc.org/default.asp
bob: as usual you’re missing my point–sorry, 45, I know–it’s isn’t living next to Cindy & Tracy, that’s a problem, it’s what the get to call themselves and ruin the meaning of a sacred thing to me.
Stop with the war on drugs–yes, yes, in your view it’s racist as well, right?
You really need to loosen that hatband!! I was being humorous, which it appears you have none.
I know the rates have been declining and have been for years (amoung our older citizens). It has actually been increasing amoung younger couples.
A fair number of couples live together without being married, which really muddies the waters as their “separations” are not counted although they were living as married couples in all respects except one.
The numbers are really tricky when one considers numbers of couples per 1000 being divorced, since the actual number of people is twice the amount, except for spouses shot in family court.
SS: Sorry, been running around too much with things going on today–I re-read and apologize.
I get tired of libs/gays always pointing out the divorce rate–especially numbers from the 70s, and as if to say, we can’t make it worse if we add our failures in.
FYI, my nephew says send hard candy. They still throw things from the vehicles to the kids. Difference is now they don’t have an occasional heat tab to mix in with the candy. No, I’m not a sick bastard who ever did that. But I saw a moron do that once. Squad leader told him if he saw him do that again, he’d throw him out with with the candy.
For some reason, your post reminded me of a scene from “The Princess Diaries,” where Ann Hathaway (”Mia”) is talking to her mother about Mia’s sudden discovery about her father being a royal, which makes her a princess by birth. Mia was the school misfit, with wild hair, ugly shoes, and glasses. Mia is understandably concerned about this sudden turn of events, and angry that she had not been told sooner. Your post reminded me of her response to her mother’s explanation: “Okay, as if I’m not enough of a freak already, let’s add a tiara!”
I guess if the concept of marriage is already screwed up, we can add gay marriage to the mix and make it - um - better?
BTW - how long before the polygamists start trying to redefine marriage for their benefit? If the concept can be changed to accommodate the gays, why not expand it to accommodate the polygamists? NAMBLA?
A change of subject. Yestereday evening I noticed a green something bird flying near the bird cafeteria in my back yard. It was a parakeet! I only had black oil sunflower seed so I asked my neighbor if she had any wild bird seed mix…..no. I sat quietly on the patio making all those stupid bird noises one makes at their pet parakeet. ( kissing sounds, pretty birdie etc) to no avail. I went inside, and later checked. Sure enough he was on the ground pecking away at dropped seed. He looks quite healthy and robust… so today I bought parakeet seed lol…… and set some out for him. He hasn’t tried it yet, but I have already seen him once today.
I always went to Sunset to body surf, no boogy boards, and cut cut the face–awesome. Never saw much surf on the windward side (bellows), but didn’t spend that much time over there–use to go to the Drive in over there (below the big drop) tho, they ran first run movies.
#102 Kent, does the government’s intrusion (via regulation) into the deeply private and usually religious tradition of marriage also “ruin the meaning of a sacred thing” to you? And if not, why?
The drug war demonstrably harms more black people and Hispanics than white people. It is racist in impact, if not intent.
In 2001, shortly before Michael Bloomberg became a candidate for mayor of New York, an interviewer asked him if he’d ever smoked marijuana. “You bet I did,” he said, “and I enjoyed it.”
Yet as mayor, Bloomberg has presided over what a recent report from the New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU) calls a “marijuana arrest crusade,” seeking to punish pot smokers for an activity he enjoyed with impunity. This little-noticed crackdown, which began under Rudy Giuliani, has disproportionately affected young black and Hispanic men, engendering resentment, distrust of the police, and disrespect for the law.
The article goes on to mention that marijuana arrests have risen between two- and three-fold nationwide since 1990.
There has never been a death attributed to a marijuana overdose, yet it shares the same Controlled Dangerous Substance classification given to cocaine, meth, and heroin.
No argument that chasing down pot smokers is insane, but those that run marajuana, usually will graduate to running cocaine, etc.
As to your first point above, not sure I understand which marriage your sepaking of that the Gov’t intrudes into. If you’re referring to the bastardation of marriage by the FDLS or polygamists–damen striaght intrusion is warranted when they are marrying too young women or making marriages where they have no say in the matter, or they’re shipping them to other compounds who are short of young girls. Otherwise, not sure what you mean. Please advise. Thanks
A man called in to Laura Ingraham today and said he and his wife took their vows very seriously,( married about ten years I think)and if the law in California stands, he will divorce his wife. They will live as man and wife, but not have the title of marriage that has been destroyed by the California judges. Intersting. He was very passionate.
I have a libertarian viewpoint on pot, although I have not smoked any since the early eighties.
I really don’t recommend anyone smoke pot or tobacco, but I confess that occasionaly I feel the yearn to lightup a Cohiba. Ms Simple and the Doc tend to discourage that practice.
I DO NOT HAVE A SIMILAR viewpoint with regards to cocaine, meth, or heroin. These are all forms on Death on the Installment Plan. Those who traffic deserve punishment.
I am beginning to develop similar attitudes about the “Doctors” in the various “Pain Clinics” that litter the city and make prescription drugs as available as a Big Mac with Fries.
#110 Tedtam, I’ve never met a homosexual person that did not agree that NAMBLA was a collection of sick freaks who advocate child abuse.
My minister and I disagree about polygamy. While one wife turned out to be one too many for me, I have no right to stop others from engaging in the personal relationships of their choosing, and I don’t think the government should either.
My minister makes the valid argument that polygamous or polyamorous relationships are typically disadvantageous to the multiple participants of the same gender.
Simple, I do recall an incident at An Hoa where grandma san and baby san got blown up while trying to boobytrap the PC’s jeep. Same PC was later KIA from another booby trap. I remember when he first joined the platoon, he said he wanted at least one confirmed from hand to hand before he left. Everybody rolled their eyes. He ended up being a a really good PC though, and I felt his loss.
I never meant to imply that homosexuality and NAMBLE were on the same footing. My argument was: if we can “adjust” our concept of marriage to accommodate the political desires of gays, how long before the polygamists want our society to adjust our legal definition again to accommodate them? Is NAMBLA next, as they argue that a grown man and a boy can experience “true love” for each other. How far down that slipper slope will we slide?
Remember Rush’s Amazon Brigade - women who are all going through PMS together? That WOULD be unstoppable military force! I can only imagine the faces on the men as they realized what they were facing on the battlefield…before they turn and run, screaming like girls…
a quick request for prayers, some employment opportunities may be coming up that will require some hard decisions. More details if possible as they come available.
#122 Simple, I’ve known a few pot heads over the years, but even the worst ones didn’t smoke 20 joints per day. But to clarify, I agree that pot is harmful. I was pointing out that it is far less harmful than other drugs, including tobacco.
I DO NOT HAVE A SIMILAR viewpoint with regards to cocaine, meth, or heroin. These are all forms on Death on the Installment Plan. Those who traffic deserve punishment.
Agreed. However, the war on drugs has failed miserably in controlling the availability of those deadly substances.
#129 Tedtam, I don’t understand how giving homosexual couples the same rights as heterosexuals forces anyone to “adjust our concept of marr

NA; 24: Yeah and forgot about, Pelosi, Carter, et al going to Syriah, Hammas and et al; and BHO specific statement he’d meet with Chavez, Imafrikkindinnerjacket, Raul Castro, et al
For those who think that doing a WRITE IN in November election, remember that you then could be responsible for Obama or Chelsea’s Momma.
If that happens….gee how conservative of you!
I guess you would like to see the US supreme court become a mirror of the California Supreme court!
Well the voters had an opportunity to get rid of this nit wit.

Also, one of O’bama’s campaign minions was actually talking with Hezbollah in Syria in the last couple of weeks (just before they took over most of Lebanon again, IIRC).
#26 Tektite: From my post last night:
Just because McCain will appoint judges, doesn’t mean the ruling Democratic party will APPROVE them, or any liberal judges will step down while he is POTUS. HE WILL CAVE to the Democrats. His record clearly states the “under the bushes” dealings.
No thanks. I feel that the Republicans will lose again this election. They didn’t get the message last time around.
#26. Tektite
Oh and McCain wont? I guess you are the only person that he’s given his personal assurance he wont wander across the aisle when it comes to appointing judges.
TekTite–Amen, AMEN AMEN!!
Just remeber–2-6 Justices on the SCOTUS–may not be perfect with Mac, but we certainly know who Obamarama will put on–Anyone say GINSBERG times 2?
Is it just me or does that grate on anyone else? I tried listening to the Amigos last week but had to change the channel after Paul kept saying that.

I’ll be voting against Hamas’ candidate.

Would love to help the yHandsome fellow.
Mornin all, another day that God has given to us.™
#29 ST, the republican party has more than earned its loss this fall.
38 bob42
Obama is Hamas’ candidate.
That’s enough for me.

38 & 39: Amen, Shannon–along with the SCOTUS–bib wants Ginsbergs on court–Have SCOTUS run by ACLU, so we can all be Socialists, pedos and Bilingaul
McCain has already stated that he would appoint judges like Roberts and Alito. Judges he may present to be appointed may not be as conservative as Scalia but those he would put forth would be a far cry from a Stevens, Marshal, Blackmun, Ginsburg or powell.
Oh Big Jolly, at least its better than having to say President Obama and President Clinton Again!
bob42–oops, sorry, you don’t really want that I forgot who I was talkin’ to, you wanted us back in the 20’s and isolated from the world. My apologies.
Uh, you got me there textite.

#42 Tektite: Yeah, and he also promised his 1st wife ’til death do us part. How’d that promise work out?

Obamarama is going to “address” the “appeasement ” charges @11AM
#39 - aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaMEN!

He must have been waiting for talking points to arrive from Hamas.
54: Annnndddd…
Awww Yeeah!
YEAH, Romo & Simpson broke up–good rid of the Hollywood trash
Play ball, Tony, not letting someone else play with yours–there’s plenty of great young ladies that wear panties and aren’t on Paris’ speed dial!
Thank Gos that’s over too late to win Division, but there’s this year!
57: Gun rights for gays–certainly, only hope they confuse the two ends
#47 ST
Uh, have they ever found your first husband ?
OBAMARAMADINGDONG (thanx AW) is getting ready to ClariLie on his position in negotiating with terrorists.
#59 Gee whiz Kent. That’s not a nice thing to wish on anyone.
bob, I’m not reallly that baaaad, just wish they were back in the closet–out of sight, out of mind–so I don’t even have to think or specifically, hear them, changing my rights.
Does anybody remember the name of that anti-Global warming movie that came out? Is it available on DVD yet?
9) help them destroy Isreal, as a show of faith.
10) kill all the Jewish people in this country.
And what does “BO” get in return. He gets to live longer because he is Muslim.
BTW - Lovely Daughter received a 3.73 GPA (just got her grades yesterday)! Dean’s List, here she comes!
whoooooooooooooooooooooop!
NA: That’s exactly what I’m saying
bob: I don’t care if they get what they need, use civil partnership, whatever–just do NOT redefine marriage, dammit. It is the joining of a man and woman–has been for over a thousand years. I want them to have the legal protections and benefits if they are truly “married”, but don’t use MARRIED as the term. Can anyone understand that?
Congrats TT, Awesome and I second the whoooooooooooooooooooooop!
#65 Very well stated Bob42 and agree 100%

Bobby: understood, just what they want–won’t be much fun at the beach–I’ve seen the burkini, but the women incidences of skin cancer should be reduced once they’re all indoctrinated into the proper role of women and their proer dress. Of course, we won’t have to worry about GLBTs any longer–they’ll be the first to be executed in the Stadiums, then Hollywood, then…

Now you know that because of ST being in the Witness Protection program she would have to kill you after she answered your question.
EK: so, the horses are just a front?
Thank you, LizBV.
And Mega-Congrats to Lovely Daughter and proud mother! She couldn’t have done it without you, Tedtam.
#72 KB - THANKS
Oops, forgot the rules–sorry HAL–can you send to my email and I’ll pass on to Tedtam
Please keep my 91 year old mama in your prayers. She took a tumble this morning is now in the hospital. Thanks in advance. Will update when we find something out.
She is like a Timex. Takes a licking and keeps on ticking, but I’m scared this time.
83….Another fine Republican Office Holder.
69 Kent,
Aw come on! The gays deserve the right to be just as miserable as the rest of us.
Given the fairly high rate of divorce in this country…I am not sure the gays should be using our idea of marriage as a model.
Simple
Very good, EK, but would take more than that for me to convert.
Thoughts and kneemail working, ST–I know how scary that is.
She’s in my thoughts ST, and I will mention her at church Sunday morning.
Could just be my location, but that pic makes me think there should be a guy on a surfboard in there somewhere!!
#68 - TedTam way ta GO Mom!!
YeeeeeeeeeeeeHAW!
#87 - kneemail on it’s way darlin!
St prayers indeed…… If she is anything like you, she is a toughie…..if you need us, let us know.
Drug abuse is harmful. The war on drugs is far more harmful, and should be stopped.
Living next door to Cindy and Tracy is harmless.
bob: as usual you’re missing my point–sorry, 45, I know–it’s isn’t living next to Cindy & Tracy, that’s a problem, it’s what the get to call themselves and ruin the meaning of a sacred thing to me.
Stop with the war on drugs–yes, yes, in your view it’s racist as well, right?
Kent,
You really need to loosen that hatband!!
Regards
Simple
ST - prayers and best wishes for her recovery!
SS: Sorry, been running around too much with things going on today–I re-read and apologize.
I get tired of libs/gays always pointing out the divorce rate–especially numbers from the 70s, and as if to say, we can’t make it worse if we add our failures in.
Simple don’t forget judges shot in family court!
Boy, Cow Patti sure killed yesterday’s OC thread.
Yep, I told you so.

110: TT: yep, and as well the Beastiality folks–alls fair in love, right???
#102 Kent, does the government’s intrusion (via regulation) into the deeply private and usually religious tradition of marriage also “ruin the meaning of a sacred thing” to you? And if not, why?
The drug war demonstrably harms more black people and Hispanics than white people. It is racist in impact, if not intent.
Thanks
106, Heat tabs are pretty benign compared to the occasional fragmentation device hurled into the back of a 6x.
You are not a $ick ba$tard….just an alive one.
Okay, how will this affect us? I’m having difficulty interpreting the impact of this…
http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/080516/media_ownership.html?.v=1
A man called in to Laura Ingraham today and said he and his wife took their vows very seriously,( married about ten years I think)and if the law in California stands, he will divorce his wife. They will live as man and wife, but not have the title of marriage that has been destroyed by the California judges. Intersting. He was very passionate.
bob42,
I have a libertarian viewpoint on pot, although I have not smoked any since the early eighties.
Simple
KentBook is feeling fiesty while I’m chanting the Serenity prayer. If that doesn’t work, I’ll go outside and hug a tree (or slam my head into it).
My minister makes the valid argument that polygamous or polyamorous relationships are typically disadvantageous to the multiple participants of the same gender.
bob42,
The average pot smoker inhales a heck of a lot more tar from a joint than a cigarette smoker gets from a Salem.
Pot is not harmless, but I hear what you are saying.
Simple
Liz, you can come to my house and we can try to catch this parakeet? You want a bird? JK- I’m for letting him fly free.
Liz–I kenw you were a tree-hugger
#115 - Hey easy on the potheads!
(we aint ALL junkies yanno)
Simple, I do recall an incident at An Hoa where grandma san and baby san got blown up while trying to boobytrap the PC’s jeep. Same PC was later KIA from another booby trap. I remember when he first joined the platoon, he said he wanted at least one confirmed from hand to hand before he left. Everybody rolled their eyes. He ended up being a a really good PC though, and I felt his loss.
bob42,
Having more that one wife is its own punishment.
Have you ever noticed that women under the same roof manage to get their monthly cycles in “sync” after a short period (pun intended).
Imagine four women with PMS..and you can’t run away with the circus.
Simple
Myfe™ is up to getting out & about today. C’ya later.
#121 Bob
I never meant to imply that homosexuality and NAMBLE were on the same footing. My argument was: if we can “adjust” our concept of marriage to accommodate the political desires of gays, how long before the polygamists want our society to adjust our legal definition again to accommodate them? Is NAMBLA next, as they argue that a grown man and a boy can experience “true love” for each other. How far down that slipper slope will we slide?
Sodom & Gomorrah, here we come!
#127 Simple
Remember Rush’s Amazon Brigade - women who are all going through PMS together? That WOULD be unstoppable military force! I can only imagine the faces on the men as they realized what they were facing on the battlefield…before they turn and run, screaming like girls…
a quick request for prayers, some employment opportunities may be coming up that will require some hard decisions. More details if possible as they come available.
Okay, guys - published warning to you all!
http://slightlywarped.com/crapfactory/curiosities/disease.htm
#122 Simple, I’ve known a few pot heads over the years, but even the worst ones didn’t smoke 20 joints per day. But to clarify, I agree that pot is harmful. I was pointing out that it is far less harmful than other drugs, including tobacco.
Agreed. However, the war on drugs has failed miserably in controlling the availability of those deadly substances.
#129 Tedtam, I don’t understand how giving homosexual couples the same rights as heterosexuals forces anyone to “adjust our concept of marr
