Sheriff Keith Korenek said 44-year-old Patrick Scott Bigelow took keys from a female correctional officer on Sunday and got out of the jail.

Investigators said Bigelow had outside help and a getaway car.

Waller County sheriff’s deputies said Bigelow kidnapped a man at a Fayette County convenience store at about 6 a.m. Monday. The man was released in the Hempstead area at about 8 a.m. Monday, officials said. He was tied to a tree, investigators said.

Bigelow, who is from the Katy area, was being held on robbery charges.Anyone with information about Bigelow’s whereabouts is asked to call the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office at 979-968-5856 or their local law enforcement agency.

UPDATE: Okay, you can relax now, this thug is back in custody. After robbing 2 banks.

Was this correctional officer physically qualified to handle prisoner trasnfers? Equality for the sexes is one thing, but I often wonder if PC gets us in trouble when we put people in positions that they are not truly qualified to handle.

Did take his hostage’s car? Did he have a weapon? More details! Something’s amiss in Fayette County Jail, me thinks. I bet this guy is a 3-time loser - thus the escape episode. There’s more to this story than we’re being told.

Wife came home from her 911 job this morning telling me to look out as she was on the listening end all night. Looks like he went West-Northwest instead of Southeast as they were expecting.

They caught him. Robbed 2 banks this morning in College Station. FBI got involved — Back to the slammer for him with more charges than I am sure he will ever want to deal with!
