Well, well, they just couldn’t leave well enough alone. In her latest attack on Joe Horn, the law abiding citizen that protected his neighbor’s home and his neighborhood’s peace and security, Lisa Falkenberg ends her column:
The little old man from Pasadena gunned down two men like dogs.
That is outrageous and she should be fired.
Opinion is one thing. Baseless statements like that are slanderous and have no place in a serious newspaper. Joe Horn didn’t wake up one day wanting to shoot anyone. Two criminals broke into his neighbor’s home and then ran towards him as he was pointing a shotgun at them. Joe Horn had no choice.
And a Harris County grand jury agreed with him.
The next thing Lisa and the editors that let this be published need to hear is: You’re Fired!
Then again, it has been a long time since the Houston Chronicle has been considered a serious newspaper.

Maybe Mr. Horn should avail himself of his rights to seek redress in the courts for this libel.
Actually, she left a couple of words off the end of the sentence:
Falkenberg is biased period. Joe did what need be
Beeyoch.
Lisa and the Chronicle convicted Joe months ago in the pages of thier liberal rag. Now, they can’t stand to admit they were on the wrong side of this one….as they are on most everything, And yet they can’t figure out why their circ/readership keeps going down, down, down. Pity.
But, I thought journalists were to journal events in an unbiased manner! /sarc off
Hope a big-name lawyer who’s annoyed out the wazoo at this will sue the Chron and Lisa for Joe pro bono. Glanced at her column, saw it was going to be vile, and stopped reading it. What losers inhabit the Chron.
In yesterday’s Joe Horn poll, LST voters picked choice #1 by a 12 to 2 margin:
Press 1 if you favor the Joe Horn method of stopping a crime in progess.
Press 2 if you favor the noodle method of letting the criminal go merrily on their way to commit other crimes in hopes that law enforcement officials will capture them, keep them in jail until their trial, sentence them to lengthy prison terms, then deport them to their native country and ensure the border is guarded sufficiently to prevent their return.
Well, what do you do with rabid dogs?
Perhaps the comical would put up an on line poll for voters to indicated how they feel. Make it really simple. Do you support Joe Horn’s actions. Yes or no. I don’t think the Comical has the cajones to do it.
Dear Ms. Falkenberg: The moral of the story is - Don’t act like dog and eff with little old men in Pasadena. It can get you killed. DELETED; PLEASE DON’T, THX
Lisa Falkenberg’s latest assault on our sensibilities is just one more reason why the Chronicle’s circulation numbers are dropping faster than Pasadena burglars. Thinking Houstonians don’t buy her half-baked tripe, and they don’t buy the liberal rag she writes for either. I can’t help but wonder how bad the Chron’s numbers would be if they weren’t dumping mass quantities of papers in the driveways of non-paying customers.
#11 Maltboy: They dumped 18 papers in my driveway. I was leaving them to see just how stupid their carrier is. With #18, they dumped one of those blue plastic ‘chronicle’ boxes on top of this pile of crap!!! Idiots! I put it right up - on top of my garbage can!
I then called their distribution dept and told the guy to make sure it is being recorded, gave him my address, told him that ONE MORE paper in my driveway is going to get them a complaint filed with MontCo sheriff dept for littering and for harrassment. And I will do it. One more paper is all it will take.
If the thieves had dropped their contraband when JH said to, and put their hands over their heads, they’d be alive today.
#9 Big - That reminds me of the old Fleetwood Mac song that said “Don’t ask me what I think of you. I might not give the answer you want me to”. They know what the answer is, and they don’t care what we think.
Bottom line…Lisa is a liberal…what Joe Horn did was legal and right. To a liberal like Lisa that makes it a hate crime. She should be made to write an apology and then her resignation. This is the American Liberal people…this is who they are and how they think. Anyone who can’t grasp that…I pity them.
Hearst Corp (Chron’s parent co) has deep pockets so they don’t give a flip about their readers. All the local people that used to be the Chronicle are long gone, replaced by New York Times wannabes….carpetbaggers of the worst kind….not a true journalist among them.
How about as punishment Ms. Falkenberg DELETED, PLEASE DON’T, THX is made to write on a black board 100 times:
I WILL NOT SLANDER HONEST CITIZENS DOING THIER CIVIC DUTY
Have her do it twice. Once downtown at noon near some good restaurants, and once at the gun show. Next to the ticket booth.
Just as Darth Dewhurst defines, by his behavior, what is wrong with big govt, Ms. Lisa Freakingbyotch defines, by her crappy, left-wing, moon-bat, wackjob, propagandizing (oops, should be JOURNALISM) what is wrong with the hardcopy news medium. The Chronicle is a great paper for fishwrap, birdcage liner or fire-starter, just don’t try to get any info from it.
Wait a minute…what will people use to line their birdcages or housetrain puppies on if the Chronicle were to go out of business?
#19 astro
Supermarket flyers.
Liberals who write for newspapers, are just writing for each other. At least, that’s the situation here in Houston. They don’t have a circulation that represents Houston, but a circulation that reflects them. That will not sustain the paper, and haven’t I read the parent company is bleeding all over the place?
Falkenberg is always jumping on the bandwagon
de jour, spouting off about things she doesn’t
even understand. I don’t even click on her
ridiculous nonsense anymore. I’ve got better
things to do than waste my time reading her
garbage.
Speaking of tree killers, anyone else notice the recent spate of NY Times ads on TV?
You can always use the Greensheet too.
She’s just a snot-nosed immature liberal kid and it’s not worth the time it takes me or the electrons I’ll waste writing how low my opinion is of her (and the Chronicle).
Maybe someday she’ll grow up.
Maybe someday the Chronicle will go out of business and we’ll get a real newspaper.
I wonder if she happened to think OJ Simpson got justice, while Joe Horn being no-billed is a travesty?
When it comes to pro-illegal alien puff pieces, the Chronicle’s writers and editors win the Joseph Goebbels propagandists of the year award.
Day after day, month after month, year after year, you can count on the Chronicle for puff piece after puff piece on illegal immigration, and always with a pro illegal alien slant.
Ole Joe G. would be very proud of the Cornicle.
I think one comment on her article said it perfectly:
It was a shameful piece. Just shameful.
I hate it when dogs break into people’s houses to steal stuff. Dogs can be so uncivilized.
Why can’t the Chronicle be more like the burglars?
Yesterday her cohort Rick (plagiarism?,who?, me?)Casey was ripping the DAs office for charging the 14 year old who drowned her newborn in a toilet. Poor misunderstood child, boo hoo. Killing babies ok, shooting illegal alien burglars with criminal records a no no. As a native Houstonian of 58 years who grew up reading the Chronicle when it reflected community values, I can only say the faster this rotten leftist rag goes out of business the better!
I just discovered this untalented Falkenberg hack used to write for the AP. That explains a lot, The Chronicle these days is primarily regurgitated AP propaganda tripe.
I was reading news stories in the Honolulu Advertisers today. If another country does the killing, the dead ones are militants, extremists, or insurgents. If the US attacks them, they are people. Not kidding.
I’m sure if the two Gents (Animals) who were working as illegal freelance movers that Mr. Horn stopped had picked another target of opportunity and broken into Ms. Falkenberg’s house at 2am morning she would have been overjoyed and welcomed them with open legs (err Arms) ahem! Yeah.. Right! She would be no different than all the other free thinking liberals. There would have been a “magic” (unexplained) handgun produced by Ms. Falkenberg one that she would claim no knowledge of owning that she would’ve used to “Frighten away her assailants” Said “movers” would then take on the terms that we (you and I) use to describe them in her prose.
