The Pauls are added to my prayer list. May she have a swift and complete recovery.

God bless Mrs. Paul and may she recover completely. God comfort the Paul family in this stressful time.

I am extremely sorry to hear of Carol Paul’s medical situation and join all who wish her a full and speedy recovery. The woman is a truly gracious, kind and humble woman just as is her husband. One of the many reasons I take such offense at those who call Ron Paul a kook and an egocentric nutcase can be traced to the words she wrote here - http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig8/paul-carol1.html

Miss Carol and I have become aquaintances thru an online recipe exchange. Some of you may not know she edits and compiles cookbooks. She is a true lady in every sense of the word.

News of her illness was a shock. Never once did she allude to it. All of the Pauls will be in daily prayers, they were already in my weekly ones.

They are both very precious people. The lies that have been told about Ron, especially concerning Israel, are heartbreaking. The posts I have seen on this blog have brought me to tears. I quit supporting LST financially because of them.

#8 your last paragraph - I don’t think this is the time or place to bring such things into this discussion.

Thoughts and prayers to the Paul family

  11. bob42 on August 12th, 2008 at 7:10 pm

I’m sure the Paul family appreciates all the prayers and good thoughts from everyone.

I ran across this update on her status:

Carol, or Luvie as she is known to her family and most of Brazoria County, Texas, is fighting hard, and remains in serious but stable condition. She has excellent doctors who are optimistic that another surgery later today (her third in five days) will be successful and start her on the road to recovery. Dr. Paul and a steady rotation of children and grandchildren remain steadfastly by her side.

Please remember Luvie tonight in your prayers.

Update: Carol’s surgery was successful. We are not out of the woods yet, but signs look very positive. If progress continues, doctors may remove her breathing tube tomorrow. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!

Hey, Boxie, been wondering where you’ve been!

I’ve only met her at the office, many times but not enough to call her Miss Carol! ;-)

It did get heated around here and I probably said some things I shouldn’t have in the heat of the moment. For that, I apologize.

I’m just glad you didn’t say adios before leaving your broccoli recipe! Made that a couple of weeks ago, get better each time I try it.

    Take care.

#8 - Geez, Boxie. We could of used some of your input around here when it came to defending Paul. I’m sorry you and I didn’t meet before you left.

#9 - Criminetley! Who the heck are you to say what is or isn’t appropriate in this discussion, Hamous? I have felt moved to tears of frustration at some of the nonsense. insults, and pure drivel being said about Ron Paul here, as well. I’m glad to know I wasn’t the only one.

#11 - bob42 - Thanks for the update. I’ve been busy all day and haven’t been able to keep abreast of Carol’s prognosis as closely as I would have liked. But I’ve kept my fingers crossed and my thoughts positive for her, despite the trials and tribulations I’ve had to deal with today myself.

#12- BigJolly - Hats off to you for that apology. You’re a class act, Mister!

#13 Shinerblonde - Please read “I don’t think…” Who the heck are you to tell me what I can and can’t think? Just seems to me there’s no reason to bring in old arguments and hurt feelings into a post requesting prayers for a woman in serious condition. I think it is trolling for a debate that doesn’t belong here. But keep tossing the bait out there and eventually someone will take it.
