As if I want the guy running the country to be as poor as a churchmouse and completely unsuccessful. Maybe he could live in a hut like Obama’s half brother.
Yes, I know Cindy has the bankrole.

Fairness doctrine: I have heard the ad and they did do a good job on it, “This is one house we don’t want him to have ” ( I can’t open videos from where I am at). If you are already anti Rep or McCain you will like it.

  2. Broc on August 21st, 2008 at 12:10 pm

Seven houses bought and paid for legitimately VS One house Obama acquired through a criminal deal.

Sheesh does Obama really want to bring home ownership back into the spotlight, this guy is a moron.

  3. Adee on August 21st, 2008 at 12:29 pm

Gee, what an opening for the McCain folks to ride for all it’s worth that convicted felon Tony Rezko’s sleazy deal for The Enlightened One and the Blessed Michelle’s home and adjoining lot. Could also throw in former candidates Al Gore’s homes and private plane, John Kerry’s homes and private plane thanks to marrying a wealthy widow. The Dems don’t seem to regard such things on their side as objectionable or indications of -gasp-wealth.

And if there’s a kitchen sink laying around, fling that in too.

  4. Big45Iron on August 21st, 2008 at 12:34 pm

I think within days that this story will rapidly overtake all others. Could be a real can of worms waiting to be opened, and Obama doesn’t look forward to looking at them.

  5. Big45Iron on August 21st, 2008 at 12:35 pm

Adee, how about John Edwards’ home and his recent “neighbor”?

  6. Adee on August 21st, 2008 at 12:46 pm

#5 Big45Iron, Yes I had thought about John Boy, and I guess he could be the Kitchen Sink. Gore and Kerry were nominees for POTUS, John Boy was just trying to be one. McCain will be the GOP nominee; TEO is likely be unless the Clintonistas pull a fast one in the Dem. Convention. On that one, stay tuned…

    BigJolly;

    Let’s blast the rich guy

Excuse me Bigjolly. But that would be a rich WHITE guy. I expect more from you than to miss an obviously important fact like that. ;)

    You’re forgiven this time.

    ;) ;) ;)

    To all;

I express happiness for both McCain and Obama for their economic success. They are clearly far greater and exhorbant than Obama’s brother in Africa. America is a blessed land indeed.

Another “judgement” error by the anointed one.How many ‘judgement errors’ is he allowed? Just askin……

#4: If the MSM doesn’t bury it. One comment on that article stuck out for me. It said that instead of focusing on all the crooks etc. in Obama’s past there should be a focus on his lack of experience and poor policies. While his past associations are important his suggested policies or lack there-of should be highlighted and focused on.

  10. Robert 1 on August 21st, 2008 at 1:18 pm

I think this calls for a Congressional investigation into how many homes each candidate owns and HOW they acquired them. I think the Congressional leaders, Nancy PeLOUSY and Harry ReidICULOUS need to ask each member how many houses they own and don’t forget to find out if any of them got any special mortgages from Countrywide to finance them. Yeah, let’s open up that “can of worms”!!!!!!!!!

  11. Bonecrusher on August 21st, 2008 at 1:46 pm

Obama is a P.O.S. race/class baiter and that is all he ever has been. You can call a P.O.S. by a different name but the stench is the same.

  12. Simple Simon on August 21st, 2008 at 2:08 pm

    Big,

I am not fond of McCain or Obama; therefore this is my simple view of the situation.

McCain and his surrogate 527’s opened the door with accusations of Obama being an elitist. Sauce for the goose in my opinion. This little non-event did expose McCain’s biggest weakness. When pricked….the guy tends to get mean and exposes a temper that he can ill afford to lose.

I don’t now what the level of home ownership on either’s part has do to with what they will do for me if elected. The level of the campaign is going downhill fast and most of this stuff is smokescreen, but it is the best show in town until the new television season starts.

Popcorn? Fluff that pillow for you?

In the link on my #4, that project last 6 years and Obama’s notes from that board administering $50 million in grants would give us some deep insights into Obama’s public policy thought processes.

We also need to remember that he sat on that board with unconvicted terrorist Bill Ayres, who participating in bombings, and who help assemble bombs and was planning to use them to kill soldiers, their wives, and girlfriends at a dance at Fort Dix when there was a premature detonation at their bomb plant in Greenwich Village that killed Ayres’ girlfriend and two other friends, and also wounded two other female terrorists, one who later participated in the 1981 Brinks robbery. The amount of explosives found in that house indicated they planned on killing a WHOLE LOT OF people.

Ayres has been completely unapologetic, and on 9/11/2001 in an article said they didn’t do enough. Barak and Michelle Obama worked with Ayres’ wife at a law firm. They sat on several boards together.

Obama moved into Ayres’ neighborhood, and later lied and said their kids went to school with Ayres’ kids. Ayres’ kids are adults and were born 1977 and 1980, so obviously they were out of HS by 1998. Obama’s children were born in 1998 and 2001. So nothing Obama says can be trust, and everything needs to be looked into.

  14. Big45Iron on August 21st, 2008 at 2:36 pm

Simple - can you show me any Obama policies that you would consider good for America?

When you sit in a racist church for 20 years, and claim you didn’t know it was racist, when you support letting a living human being from a botched abortion die because you don’t like the language of a bill, when your friends are unapologetic terrorists, when you really haven’t done a darn thing in life to prepare you to be the President and all it entails, then I submit that you are woefully unprepared for the job, and likely an enemy of liberty and free enterprise.

This makes McCain a far more qualified candidate. And as far as temper goes, I don’t mind a temper. Doesn’t mean the guy is going to order a nuclear strike or the assassination of a foreign leader. Just means he gets made - particularly at stupid questions that really have no bearing on the election. I believe you likely experienced some fine leadership by persons who actually got mad and raised their voice from time to time.

  15. Darren10 on August 21st, 2008 at 3:03 pm

    Big45;

If King (”Mayor” is his offical title) Daily has his way, there will be no chance in this mortal life that those documents will be released. Chicago politics are as dirty as it gets. And I agree with your reasoning and conclusion as to why those documents should be released. Very good points you made. But it’ll take a tremendous amount of pressure to get them public.

  16. Simple Simon on August 21st, 2008 at 3:21 pm

    Big45,

Ok…where’s the beef in your logic to counter my point?

All I said in essence was McCain (or his surrogates) calling Obama an elitist was a poor tactic. McCain got served up some of his own medicine and he did not like the taste.

Yes, I have known a lot of good leaders that would lose their tempers from time to time.

The best leaders never lose their tempers in public.

  17. Simple Simon on August 21st, 2008 at 3:23 pm

    14, Big

I am not sure that I can show you policies for either to these guys that would benefit the country. So far….I am unimpressed by either.

  18. Big45Iron on August 21st, 2008 at 6:38 pm

Simple, it’s really a difference in the parties overall.

Dems - big houses are evil and use too much energy, while they own multiple big houses.

Dems - making huge sums of money should subject you to confiscatory taxes - but we’ll hide ours offshore.

Dems, we’re for protecting murders and children….unless you are unborn, or you are born with a severe birth defect.

Dems, we are patriotic…but don’t ask us to fight for it or ask anybody else to.

Dems, we’re for saving energy - as long as you are the one saving it.

Dems, we need to be energy independent - we just don’t have a clue on how to.

There’s more, but that’s enough for now.

  19. bob42 on August 21st, 2008 at 6:41 pm

#17 Simple, very well put. I’m curious as to your opinion of Bob Barr.

#18 Big45Iron, I’m starting to get the impression that you don’t care much for democrats. ;)
So I’m wondering if there are any republicans of national notoriety that you wouldn’t vocally support.

  20. Big45Iron on August 21st, 2008 at 6:42 pm

Simple, could be he was just mad because he simply didn’t know the answer to a question that he should have known…..NOT because he and his wife own a bunch of properties. McCain does not say you’re evil if you do, while he himself does it. Obama and the Dem machine overall think they should NOT deny themselves all the things you should be denied.

That sir, is an elitist. Dems are George Orwell’s 1984 come to life. We think everybody should be equal - except that some of us should be more equal than others.

  21. Big45Iron on August 21st, 2008 at 6:43 pm

You don’t think cutting taxes and putting conservative judges on the bench would benefit our country?

  22. Big45Iron on August 21st, 2008 at 7:14 pm

Bob42, I study them one at a time. I was against McCain as the GOP candidate based mostly on his lack of stand on the border. Since he has become the nominee, I’ve dug into his voting record for the last 30 years. I’m pretty comfortable with him overall now, and expect to hold his feet to the fire just as we had to nationwide on this last amnesty bill. But at least I know he won’t hand over the keys to the country to the terrorists, and he’ll oppose them militarily where necessary. I don’t have that confidence in Obama.

As for GOP I don’t like, and this is issue by issue

Chuck Hagel - wrong on the war and abortion
Bob Barr - wrong on war, FISA, Patriot Act
Olympia Snowe - wrong on abortion, gay rights, amnesty, taxes
Ted Stevens - spending and corruption
Sam Brownback - wrong on surge

Will that do for now? Or do you really want me to start in on Texas RINOs?

  23. bob42 on August 21st, 2008 at 7:27 pm

I’m confused, Big45Iron. Bob Barr voted for the patriot act, and is no longer a republican. (But Ron Paul is…)

As far as starting in on Texas RINOs, <i<be my guest!

  24. Big45Iron on August 21st, 2008 at 7:50 pm

Bob42, and now says he regrets voting for it.

  25. Big45Iron on August 21st, 2008 at 7:51 pm

I don’t consider Ron Paul a Republican. Actually, I don’t consider him at all.

  26. Big45Iron on August 21st, 2008 at 7:59 pm

Bob42, all that being said, based on what I see between the representatives of the two parties, their respective party platforms, etc., and the totallity of how they voted, the GOP’s worst is better than the DNC’s best.

I was thinking about how Libertarians could advance their cause. The only way I see if for them to do that is to gain control of a state legislature and prove their worth on a smaller scale. If they can’t manage that, then the people are not interested in their message, and they really have no serious business on the national stage. Oh, they have every right to be there, but if the people as a huge majority reject their candidates to the tune of 95% of the voters, then all they are doing is making noise and disrupting the process. But that’s only one man’s opinion.

  27. bob42 on August 21st, 2008 at 8:16 pm

#25 That’s both funny and true.

#26 While frequently disagreeing with you (OK, frequently is an understatement…) I do respect your devotion, misplaced though it may be.

In terms of local candidates, the Libertarian party has some pretty low standards. They even asked ME if I was interested in running for state rep!

I’m thinking that the Libertarian ticket stands a pretty good chance of covering the spread between Obama and McCain in November. It’s still anyone’s guess, but keep in mind that not everyone is as happy with the RNC nominee as you are.

In any case, thanks for responding.

    Excuse me,

But WTF in Obama’s class warfare ad does McCain lose his temper?

You’re making the accusation, show us the facts.

There is not one bit of evidence that McCain lost his temper on this. Why, oh why, did you go there?

  29. Rahman on August 21st, 2008 at 8:46 pm

Apropos video, when McCain said US economy is fundamentally strong, he was not, I repeat, was not fibbing.
US economy is strong and it will take a lot to shake it’s structure.
If Mr. Obama is sensitive towards others who are struggling with their mortgage, atleast he could have shown his concern by not going to Hawai.
There are many beautiful beaches here .
Sadly Obama has turned out to be a fraud.

He could also support drilling in the OCS and other prohibited areas.

And he could support keeping the Bush Tax Cuts.

And he could support keeping the Capital Gains Tax low enough to continue generating investment incentives.

And he could support not raising the Social Security Payroll Tax.

And he could support not raising taxes at all.

And he could support the abolition of Earmarks.

    But he ain’t gonna.

Because he really, really is an Elitist Liberal who thinks he knows better how to spend the money of gun and bible clingers than they do.

  32. Big45Iron on August 21st, 2008 at 9:13 pm

Rahman, come on. His mom and sister are here. He has alot of friends here. He’s not here at taxpayer expense, and he has a right to go anywhere he wants for vacation. Hawaii after all is one of the 57/58 states. Too bad with all his other activities here: Gym, golfing, rally, fund raiser, family picnic, movies….he didn’t manage to find the time to visit the wounded troops here at Tripler Army Hospital…the third largest military hospital in the world.

    Yah,

But the guy who says that the Rich White Guy who has so many houses he’s out of touch with Americans didn’t just take the kids to Gramma’s house for vacation.

Obama and his friends rented the 11-bedroom house through an island realty company for “standard market value,” said the aide, who would not identify the company or provide the market rate.

    snip

Higgins’ house on Kailua beach, an hour’s drive from Honolulu on the northern edge of Oahu, sits behind thick palm trees at the end of a private road.

The traveling press pool has been kept at a distance. Campaign aides have rejected efforts to observe Obama from the public beach in front of the house.

Property records offer the only glimpse: The $8 million house occupies 12,000-square feet and has 10.5 bathrooms, a pool and a Jacuzzi.

    You live there, Bigs,

Just what is “fair market value” for rental of an 11 bedroom house with a provate beach at the end of a private road an hours drive from Honolulu for a week?

And if a guy with seven houses is “out fo touch” with average americans, where does it put the guy who can afford that kind of vacation locale?

  36. sargevining on August 21st, 2008 at 9:47 pm

I guessing Simple isn’t going to provide us with the proof that McCain “lost his temper” over this.

    KLnow why?

Because if he did, the headlines—and the Obama Campaing—would all be saying:

    “McCain loses temper with Reporter”

But all they are talking about is how many houses he owns.

Which means anybody trying to get you to believe this is about his ‘temper” is selling you a pig in a poke.

  37. bob42 on August 21st, 2008 at 10:52 pm

#31, Yes Big45Iron, I’ve cast a protest vote for many Libertarian candidates that I wasn’t completely “happy with.” But the difference is none of the folks I voted for had a serious chance of winning, and neither of the two party duopoly dudes were worthy of the job either. I’ve also left my chad un-hung when all of the partisan and independent candidates stunk and were unworthy of the post they sought.

For this November, I’m still on the fence about voting for Bob Barr, or simply auctioning my presidential chad on e-Bay. I figure I should get something for my vote, I’m just not yet sure if I want to express my dissatisfaction with the republican party or pick up some change in a chad auction.

btw, I voted FOR W in 2000, but it was simply not possible to attach enough enough clothespins to my nose to do so again in 2004.

Let me put it like this: Satan will be serving up free beer in frosty mugs before I hang my chad for “Bush Lite” in 2008.

  38. Darren10 on August 21st, 2008 at 11:02 pm
