this has been the most entertaining election year in my lifetime.

One White Sox game I attended with my father when I was very young, things seemed hopeless for the Sox. People started to leave in droves. We, of course, sat it out. The Sox eventually came back and won the game. That was exciting.

This election is entertaining indeed. With Palin, it’s become exciting.

Adultery is always unfortunate. Not surprising though Rev. Wright may have had one. If America is damned from above, how would this help prevent that, Rev. Wright?

Rev. Wrong was “right” about damning something but it shouldn’t have been America, it should have been himself. Power always gets to people’s head and they think they can get away with anything, just ask John Edwards, Jesse Jackson, Bill Clinton and many others.

Elizabeth Payne has filed a wrongful dismissal claim with the EEOC

Something tells me that churches are exempt from interstate commerce regulation. She’s got no case, except for entitlement mentality…

  4. Darren10 on September 9th, 2008 at 8:30 am

John Edwards, Jesse Jackson, Bill Clinton and many others.

My word Robert. What could all these men have in common, I wonder? Now Rev. Wright can join their private/not so private club.

Yeah, but you guys have to admit this election submitted as a script 5 years ago would have gotten the writer thrown out of any movie studio as being too preposterous. Real life is much more interesting and funny than fiction.

Stuff like this only matters when it is a conservative committing the offense. No reason for the entitlement pimps to be worried.

I feel bad for all of them. I’m sick of peoples failures becoming headlines. They aren’t politicians, just sinners. Politicians are another matter. They are expected to walk the walk. This man who had to feel the white hot pain of being cheated on, is now in the national media living it once again. Yuck. I’m not even surprised about this info on Wright.

its all fun and games til someone gets hemorrhoids…! and you all know only money can cure those.

What could have possibly attracted her to him (Wright) in the first place?

    ick

    Charm?

I don’t feel the least bit bad about any of these characters(or should I say lack thereof).

Everyone’s life can be boiled down to a long list of decisions, and the resulting consequences, that are made daily. Both Wright and this woman made their own personal decisions to engage in this behavior. Now perhaps, they will deal with the consequences of their behavior.

Leadership, whether religious or political, starts at the top. When we, as constituencies, settle for this lack of character - that is exactly what we get.

AW, I admire your political passion, but I think you’re empathy in this matter, is sorely misplaced.

  12. american woman on September 9th, 2008 at 9:41 am

Lawrence, my empathy was mostly directed at the husband, who endured the cheating, and now it’s being rehashed. For some reason my mind dismisses Wright. I’m just not surprised. I think it’s because I never considered him a Godly man. Something worse. As to the cheating wife, a dummy.

If she had stayed home and cooked and cleaned and looked after her man like a woman is supposed to, this would never have happened. How could this evil Jezebel seduce this wRightous man of God and lead him to sin? Who knows what this trauma may have caused him to do, lose his mind, say stupid things, hate his country?

Absolutely shameful I must say. :)

The chickens are coming home to roost.

Apparently, this is Wright’s m.o. Didn’t he hook up with his current wife this way?

  16. ShinerBlonde on September 9th, 2008 at 11:25 am

    # 5 - TexPat - Ain’t THAT the truth! Fact ‘outweirds’ fiction every time! Which is why I find reading history so entertaining.

According to the Post article, Wright seduced the wife of a parishioner when they came to him for marital counseling back in the 1980s. She left her husband and married the Reverend Wright.

There are very few comedians who I find funny anymore. I do get my daily laughs from reading about the real life antics of people now and from the past.

  19. Fasternu 426 on September 9th, 2008 at 12:50 pm

I have ZERO respect for anyone that can/will cheat on their wife! Not that I had any for Wright, just saying!

If you want the extra-curricular stuff, don’t get married!

  20. headshaker on September 9th, 2008 at 2:45 pm

Wow, what a scumbag. The glow of The Enlightened One’s halo is starting to fade.

    Alleluia!

    God Bless Sarah Palin!

  21. carbon-credit on September 9th, 2008 at 3:30 pm

Ummm…guess Rev Wright doesn’t hate white people that much…I mean white women…it all feels the same, right Wright??

    scumbag…

  22. wagonburner on September 9th, 2008 at 3:33 pm

Could this have been Rev. Wright?

  23. whitetop on September 9th, 2008 at 8:34 pm

After listening to the ranting and raving of the Reverend Jessie Jackson all these years who would have thought there was someone even nuttier than him. I guess when you hate your country as much as the Right Reverend Wright a little adultery isn’t a big deal.
